Concerning the REDCLYFIAN TREATY OF VALFLEUR of 1922 and the ACTIVATION OF ARTICLE VI

For over a decade, the people of Redclyf have served the Commonwealth with distinction. Unfortunately, the recurrence of disputes between the Sovereign of our Commonwealth and the Vavasour of Redloga have necessitated a thorough review of our relationship.

The causes which have compelled us to do so are many. These include:

-THE ANTAGONIZATION OF THE COMMONWEALTH’S NEIGHBORS

-THE FAILURE BY THE HOUSE OF MOSU TO PAY LEGAL RESTITUTION AS SO ORDERED IN A COURT OF LAW

-A LACK OF DIRECT FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMMONWEALTH LANDS

-A GENERAL UNWILLINGNESS BY THE VAVASOUR TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE GREATER COMMONWEALTH

-REPEATED INSTANCES OF DISRESPECT SHOWN TOWARD THE SOVEREIGN, HER COUNSELORS, AND CITIZENS OF THE COMMONWEALTH

-DISREGARD FOR THE SOVEREIGN’S AUTHORITY AS LIEGE

It therefore seems clear by these actions that the Vavasour of Redloga has no intention of honoring the Redclyfian Treaty of Valfleur of 1922 in the long term, nor in good faith. We have been tolerant and have striven to bridge this divide on several occasions, yet our efforts to do so have come to no avail.

As such, it is with the utmost regret that we must trigger Article VI of the Redclyfian Treaty of Valfleur. The title of the Vavasoury of Redloga is thusly returned to the Crown of St. Emma and all promises of land and legal obligations held by the Commonwealth to the former Vavasour under that treaty are to be rescinded. Regardless, we promised that we would part ways peacefully should our relationship sour, and that promise shall be kept.

However, in recognition of the exemplary loyalty and service of so many of the Redclyfian people, including the newly christened Vavasour of the Rivers and others, the Sovereign does extend to all citizens and families of Redclyf who wish to remain a part of the Commonwealth the opportunity to do so in the spirit of Article VII of that same treaty without any change. We urge those who have not already expressed their wish to remain and hold such intentions to petition the Sovereign as such.

“This girl is so brave,” told Renilde those at the Grand Bureau meeting as they discussed the legitimacy of Estrid’s forming of her house. 

Renilde felt a swell of pride in her chest, knowing she’d caused the entire debacle across Canondom, yet for the right reasons. “It is only right. It is the only way for the pact to be binding - legally!” Renilde smiles from her lounge in the Citadel over dinner with her children Winifred and Paul, and looked forward to being present at the swearing of both the King of Haense and Duke of Adria.

"My head is pounding." Renilde cried into a tissue.

Renilde made her way from the gorgeous tower of Aaun, one with too many staircases, and pondered her role in the day's making of history. Astride her steed with her entourage at her flanks, she thought deeply of that the intentions were of both the Haeseni king and Adria's duke. "Both men sent in their wives to take the oaths in their stead," she said to her children, Paul and Winifred, who rode on either side of their mother, "yet, I hope they do not use that as a loophole to wage another conflict upon their princely brethren. This is quite worrisome. And then, the King in Haense wouldn't even allow his wife to sign the document even though she took the oath?"

Renilde wound the reins of her horse around her fist one more loop, and kicked the sides of her horse to carry on forward in solitude while her children mused on the topic, deep in her own contemplation. "This isn't right," she'd've said for the umpteenth time that day, seriously considering the legal validity of the document despite its pure intention. 

"Real." Renilde bobbed her head after a nice long discussion with a genderless person and their child, as well as a surprise-visit from the King of Norland and his diplomat who'd worked tirelessly with the Archduchess to create the perfect document. "These folks are swell."

Reading the missive, the Archduchess of the Petra would send a letter to leader of the Order of St. Tylos, requesting that all information regarding dark magicians be tendered directly to she, herself, in order for the capable members of the Riverguard to be deployed to investigate such matters. 

“Woo hoo! Welcome to the Meadowlands!” Renilde hollered from the bannister.

"What a nice fellow," Renilde told her ward on the road back to Petra from Numendil, pleased with her first interaction with the Tar-Numenatar. "This is the start of something very important, dear Eri." 

Renilde whistles the tune to the Commonwealth’s newest folk song whilst swinging a ring of keys around on her finger. 

“Yes!” Renilde cried!

"Now that is what a personal invitation looks like." Renilde folded up her invite and prepared her crossbow for the hunt. It'd been a while since she'd gone on one, and couldn't wait to partake in the stalk.

Renilde reads and rereads the nonsensical missive over and over again, trying to understand its meaning to no avail.

"Oh my goodness..." Renilde signed the Lorraine over herself, eyes wide, unblinking.

Renilde wished she'd gotten a personal invitation, but understood that the King of Haense might've been a bit busy.

"WOW!" Renilde shouted as the missive reached her hands, a palm pressed to her forehead as grief wrapped her up like a sweater.
