[OOC THREAD] The War For Civilization - WW2 FRP
Lsuvsfar replied to _pok_'s topic in Vailor OOC Archive
APPLICATION Country: Nationalist China/Republic of China Nation Leader - Must be Historical; Can be Commander of Armed Forces rather than Nation: Chiang Kai-Shek Demonstrate Understanding of chosen country (Literally Look at Wikipedia for 10 minutes): Japan had invaded China in 1937 while the Chinese Civil War was dying down. Attacking with their puppet state, Manchukuo, the Japanese were able to take over a vast area of land in China, pushing the Chinese to the inner provinces. To combat the Japanese, the Republic of China formed an alliance with the Communist Party and by 1941 both sides were at a stalemate. The Republic of China had far more troops than their Communist allies, having roughly 3.8 million men in 1941. For this reason, they did most of the fighting and suffered the most losses. Their troops were about on par with the Japanese, carrying mostly riffles or light machine guns, with there being some heavy machine guns. Most of the army did not use artillery. - Things to keep in mind when writing (Troop count, resource pool, some weapons/technology) Alliance(Allies, Axis, Non-Aligned): Allies Status: - Pick one: Fighting Japan Alliances must not be broken unless under intense RP pressure (ie. I'm not sure what you have done in the past for nation games on this forum, but I've been in nation games over with a different group of people and I would be willing to take part in the game.

"I recall no battle," a Treeman would day standing high atop the church of Felsen, defending the city he swore to protect. "All I remember is a bunch of people violating raid rules and running around like dimiwts proceeding those events and the great blue men in the sky doing diddly squat to punish them." With that, Treeman and the great Donaldis Trumpicus would fly through the sky in Apache helicopters, pugsying everyone on the server, firing missiles at everything that moves, and forcing all the races to again flee Vailor.

After the battle, Bastion would sit in on his bedside, pondering Beo's rebellion. "We shoulda seen this coming," Bastion thought. "The Bishop of Courland warned us of the pagans in Norland, but Norland merely mocked him. Now look, the traitor has run off with the dwarves and surrounds himself with their women. Beo refused to tear down that pagan shrine in Valkyria, and Norland did nothing. Now Beo is a pagan puppet for the dwed." Bastion chuckled to himself, shortly as his thought "Shame the Norlanders didn't slaughter Beo like the fat swine they had the chance." With that, Bastion would lay down and drift off into sleep, dreaming of how Norland must be kicking themselves for failing to heed the Bishop's warning.

Bastion would chuckle upon seeing the young man collapse, as he was the only one that realized that young man never actually existed and was merely based off two similar events. "I suppose next a man and woman are going to come up offering Nikae either an olive tree or a saltwater spring."

Oh yes, thank goodness Jeb Bush is taking a stand against bullying, because clearly bullying is America's biggest problem. Sarcasm aside, if Jeb's poll numbers don't turn around(which they probably won't) then you are better off voting for a candidate that has a realistic chance of winning and whose values you can support.

((Is Saleucami an Imperial planet or what? If it's republic, I don't think you can just waltz into the system without duking it out in space.)) Torkah caught the fist of a soldier, grabbing onto it and delivering a swift kick to his stomach before the soldier broke off the attack, and charged him again. Torkah went to deliver another kick, but this time the soldier dodged and delivered a kick to Torkah, causing him to fall. The soldier moved in to finish Torkah while he was done. Torkah threw himself back up and met the soldier's punches with his own. After a short while. Torkah delivered a roundhouse kick to the soldier's stomach, putting him on the ground. Torkah then place his foot on his chest before the soldier could get back up, and then helped up the soldier. The one-thousand men had come a long ways since the first day Torkah had taken them under his command. For one thing, they were in far better shape than they had been. While at first many of them would have gone down after a good beating, now they could best be described as walking tanks, taking hits and dishing them right back out. That being said, their strength had increased greatly as well. Their speed was also greater. Tactically, they had transformed from going around as one massive, disorganized group to a coherent army, which moved as one united force. Furthermore, they became better and using their surroundings to camouflage themselves or take cover. Their accuracy had also gone from acceptable to deadly. However, the most important thing they had gained was a sense of brotherhood and fellowship. During their combat drills, Torkah had created one rule that had seldom been broken: No man left behind. He couldn't have been more proud. Luckily for Torkah, the council had chosen the right time to test his men. Torkah watched from above as his army stood about, organizing into squads and battalions. The opposing army stood sorted up into blocks. Already, the council was favoring the opposing general's army to his own because of their more traditional organizational skills. The two armies started roughly one and a half clicks apart from each other and each soldier was given the blaster of his choice, all of which had been customized to fire off stun rounds. The terrain wasn't forgiving. In between the armies were several hills, which were surrounded and covered in brush with clearings here and there. Finally, the battle began. Torkah's army wasted no time and quickly moved to get what snipers they had up on the hills. The opposing army got moving, though it took them slightly longer. They were rushing their scouts to get to the top of the hills while the rest of their army moved in deeper into the brush. Torkah's army moved slowly, apparent by the movement of the brush. The first shots were fired, not from within the brush, but from the tops of the hills. Torkah's snipers had wiped out several opposing scouts, leaving the army blind. Torkah watched as his army suddenly stopped moving and then blaster fire began. Everyone could see the shots ripping through the brush, though it was not apparent as to who was winning. Suddenly, shots began to come in from the flank of the opposing army. Soon enough, the entire opposing army was in full retreat, and Torkah's was pushing through the bush, cutting them down. By the time the battle was over, Torkah's army was successful. While the entire opposing army of 1000 people had been taken out, Torkah's army had only taken 327. After looking at the numbers, the high council turned to Torkah. "Well, the numbers speak well," the head of the High Council told him, "however, we would like to see more applicable numbers. We are going to be looking around the nearby planets. We will be finding where the nearest Sith or hostile planets are located at. In the mean time, please write up a manuscripts of what kind of training you put your soldiers through." "Could it be one of the planets in the sector?" Torkah questioned "No," the head of the council replied, "all the planets in this sector are either republic controlled or neutral. We have recently engaged in economic relations with all of the republic planets in this sector, which has allowed us to get a more credits. Therefore, we will be supplying your troops, along with all the rest, with armor before we attack the Sith. Also, we will be providing our troops with some armored vehicles and putting more money towards our fleet." Torkah nodded before asking "How goes the fleet?" "Quite well, actually." the head of the council informed him. "We have a Valor class cruiser, the Indomitable, acting as our flag ship, along with four Hammerheads, four Thrantas, two carriers, two-hundred-ten Liberators, forty bombers, twenty five shuttles, and ten salvaged cargo ships turned into lightly armed and armored transport ships." Torkah gave the head a concerned look, "That's a lot of ships, just how much did it cost to build them in such a short amount of time." The head of the council stared back, a tired expression on his face "A fair bit, which is why we need you to go and conquer a hostile planet. I have sent you data we have on various naval battles which have taken place, in hopes you can gather some strategic knowledge. If you don't do so and you fail to take a hostile planet, then our administration will receive a lot of backlash over the build up and I can't guarantee they will be as willing to aid you. Torkah nodded, understanding how dire the situation was. Actions: Iridonia has built a navy consisting of 1 Valor class cruiser, 4 Hammerheads, 4 Thrantas, 2 carriers, 210 Liberators, 40 bombers, 25 shuttles, and 10 lightly armed and armored transport ships. Iridonia has opened up economic relations with Republic systems in the Glythe Sector, strengthening their economic power. Iridonian troops will be given armor and improved training. Iridonia is searching for nearby hostile systems and any knowledge available on their defenses. MOD PLZ Torkah will be studying naval tactics and lightsaber combat.

((So, are we just ignoring the fact the nightsisters and Zabrak shouldn't be present on Dathomir for another few thousand years.)) Torkah sat inside his quarters, meditating. He sat in the dark as he felt the force around him. During his training, he had further increased his skills with the force, but he still had much to learn. He could feel everything, and things were quite serene. However, he felt something approaching, something unnatural. Suddenly, only gesturing with a few fingers, he activated his com link and the high council appeared on the other end. "Ah," Torkah would reply, seeing the council, "Esteemed High Council, to what do I owe the pleasure?" "We have completed several of your requests," stated the head of the council. "We are justing getting your thousand men to you, and they should be arriving shortly." "Yes, I thought I sensed something approaching," Torkah would comment. "On top of that, the ranks of our army have been bolstered," he continued. "however, there are some members of this council that feel a Jedi can't match the same level of training and have as well disciplined troops as our generals. At some point, we will put your men head to head with the best that the other portion of our army has." Torkah smiled, enjoying the fact he had been challenged and could demonstrate just how well a Jedi could command troops. "The fleet is coming along alright, though we still need more ships. Finally, we have obtained some information on surrounding systems here in the Glythe Sector," the head of the council informed him. "From what we can tell, the Feldrona, Frithia, Iridia, and Lorista systems are still controlled by Zabrak colonists. The Vortex and Fef systems are controlled by other sentient races. The Nentan and Fornax systems have a few people in them, but they are largely uninhabitable and provide no real threat. Then there is the Valrar system, which appears to be livable, though heavily forested and is currently unpopulated. Then, there is another systems. The Aldarrn System, while it has been documented, has never been explored. However, recent astronomic data gives us reason to believe it may contain planets, a few of them close enough they could possibly harbor life." Torkah nodded in approval, thinking about all the information. "I expect you will be exploring that system, as well as getting in contact with the others." Torkah replied. "We must make sure these systems stay allied with the Republic. They could possibly provide us with troops as well as other assets, which we will need. Furthermore, we must ensure that this sector does not fall. If any Sith attempt to invade, we must be prepared to push them back. Anyways, thank you Esteemed Council." With that, Torkah deactivated the com-link and walked outside to great the ships. One thousand Zabrak soldiers were offloaded nearby his location. "Men," he announced to them, "I am Jedi Knight Torkah Ublec, and I will be your commander from this point on. Now, I am sure many of you are aware of the Sith encroaching upon the galaxy yet again, and it is our job to drive them back and liberate their people. Now, are there any questions?" No one said anything, and thus began their training. They started out with a standard test of strength and endurance. Everyone passed, but Torkah was not satisfied with the results. Then he tested their melee abilities. There were strong, but their melee skills were blunt and unrefined. Finally, he tested their blaster work by having them run a short course, shooting at different things. While they were good shots, their tact in running the course left much to be desired. However, there were a few that, whilst running the course, moved with a more covert style, taking cover behind objects. Torkah came up with a plan then for his men. Firstly, he would need to increase their endurance, speed, and strength which he would do with more rigorous training. Then, he would teach them some of what he knew about hand to hand, as well a few things things he knew about fighting with INSERT HERE combat to help them refine their melee combat abilities. Finally, he would improve their general tactical knowledge so they didn't blindly run into combat and get shot to pieces, but rather sought cover and made sure they were covering their flanks before ripping apart their opponents. Actions: Iridonia is attempting to make contact with other inhabited planets in the Glythe sector to see where they align and if they would work with Iridonia. MOD PLEASE Iridonia is continuing to build up its fleet, though it currently has no completed ships. Torkah is currently overseeing the training of 1000 troops under his command. The training he is administering them will go above and beyond the training a typical solider would see. Torkah is working to increase his force powers, mainly focusing on combative ability.

Torkah walked into the the High Council chamber of Iridonia, his robe flowing behind him as he walked in. "Esteemed High Council, I have come to you in order to make some requests," Torkah stated, as they all turned to face him. "By way of the force, I have sensed that the great darkness which looks across this galaxy may not yet be stopped, and when it comes, Iridonia must be prepared! Which is why, I must first request that we bolster our army by bringing it up to sixty-thousand men, with five-thousand of them being under my direct command, along with a fleet of ships capable of defending Iridonia from Sith invasion. Secondly, I advise that you move to bolster the Agricultural, Technological, and Manufacturing centers of the economy, so as to give Iridonia the funds to fight the Sith. Finally, I ask that you find out what you can of the surrounding star systems and where they align themselves." The council briefly discussed the proposal before turning back to Torkah. "As for your first point," the head of the council replied, looking right at Torkah, "we will bolster the ranks of our army and build a space fleet. However, instead of the five-thousand men you asked for, we will place one-thousand under your command. Secondly, we have already made steps to boost our agricultural sector, and seeing as you brought it up we will be boosting our manufacturing and technology sectors as well. As per your final request, we will see what information we can gather, and inform you of an possible threats." "Thank you, esteemed High Council," Torkah said, bowing his head before walking out. As soon as Torkah was done with the council, we would return to his training, trying to further his abilities in the force. Actions: Iridonia will be bolstering the ranks of its army to 60k men. Iridonia will begin building a fleet. Iridonia will be focusing mainly on agriculture, technology, and manufacturing as its main source of income. Iridonia will be learning what it can about surrounding planets to determine if any ally with the Sith or other hostiles. MOD PLZ Torkah will be furthering his force abilities whilst waiting for his detachment of 1k soldiers to be sent to him.

@Tyras MckayI believe you can start as anything, though I would imagine the thread owner wants you to keep it reasonable at the start so there isn't one person that's superpowerful and goes around roflstomping everyone else. Also, can we sort of limit how powerful people can be when they start out? No offense to you, funny, but to be considered a supreme lightsaber dualist seems a little farfetched for someone that's only 20. Vader and Windu would maybe be the closest things to masters which we see, but Vader was about mid 30s and Windu was in his late 50s.

Bastion spots a piece of paper with the word bounty printed on it. "A troll, aye?" Bastikn comments after reading it. "Sounds like good hunting." He looks to the trees just outside Riga, listening. He thinks that, somewhere far off, he can hear the creatures cries.

What's your Minecraft Account Name?: Lsuvsfar How old are you?: 18 Are you aware the server is PG-13: Yes Have you read and agreed to the rules?: If I am supposed to click on something to agree, then no I didn't. If I just have to read and agree to follow them here, then yes. What’s the rule you agree with the most?: The ban of brothels other more mature subjects which would make the game unfriendly to younger players. Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense: When you say strip mining is not allowed, would it be acceptable to dig a large mine and set up wooden pillars to act as supports? What about creating a vast underground room with pillars acting as supports? I just would like to know how I am supposed to go about mining so I don't break any rules. How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: I was bored and wanted to find a minecraft roleplaying server so I just found minecraftservers.org and this one seemed to fit the bill. Definitions Feel free to Google the answers or browse our forums, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person! What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is taking on a persona and acting out that character's life as they would in whatever situation they may be in. What is metagaming?: It is when you roleplay based off information your character shouldn't have. What is powergaming?: Powergaming is when you make a character too strong and they practically become immortal and they become an anti-fun mechanic. I have also seen a term called god-modding used, which is when one person controls another person's character without their permission, which I would guess falls under powergaming. In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play. Character’s name: Bastion Curthose Character’s sex: Male Character’s race: Human(Highlander) Character’s age: 19 Biography: Bastion was born in 1517 to a couple of farmers in the wilderness. Everything looked to be going well until Oren went to war and Bastion's father left to serve the Crown in The Dukes War. While his father was gone, Bastion's mother struggled to take care of him and the farm. When Bastion's father returned, things became much easier except his father was different. From what his mother told him, his father used to be a very caring and gentle man. After he returned from war, however, he was a very cold, tough person. Bastion's father seemed to crave another war, hoping he could reclaim something from it. Knowing he would likely die in some war soon, Bastion's father started teaching Bastion "how to be a man" as he called it. Finally, when Bastion was eight, nine, and ten his father left home to go fight in the series of conflicts which occurred. In the final conflict, Bastion's father was slain shortly before the Treaty of Fenland and Bastion and his mother were left in dire straights. Bastion had to help his mother run their small farm and care for the few animals they had. He was constantly worked and had little time to meet other people, as his mother usually bought and sold things. However, when he was 16 his mother's health began deteriorating. Slowly, she became weaker and much more frail. She seemed to always be sick and normal day tasks became almost impossible for her. Within one year, Bastion had to start doing everything including buying and selling things. During the growing season, he would be out in the field working sunrise to sunset . Finally, when he was 18 his mother passed away. For almost half a year, Bastion took care of the farm. Finally, a fire started because a lightning bolt hit the barn and the farm was set ablaze. The livestock ran off and the fire burned down the house, the barn, and burned all the seeds for the year's growing season. Now, Bastion is looking for someway to become a farmer again and reclaim what he had lost. Personality Traits: Bastion is a very quiet person and he tends to try and keep to himself. This mostly stems from his tragic life and the fact he has little experience talking to people. However, deep down he has a warm heart and if he sees someone in need of help, he will be there if they so choose. He is wary of those who simply want to use other people for their own gain and give nothing back, so he has some mistrust of other people. Ambitions: Bastion hopes to create his own farm and rebuild what he lost. In the long term, he hopes to achieve something more than that, though he isn't quite sure what. Strengths/Talents: Strong work ethic, very independent, never gives up Weaknesses/Inabilities: No combat experience, lacks many people skills Appearance: 6' 0", 170lbs Appearance, please provide us a screenshot of your character’s skin: http://i.imgur.com/L4KYHLN.png
