A CALL TO ATLAS [Kadarsi Sultanate ask for AID!]

Leofwine looks over the call to arms before glancing over to Randal. "We cannot allow the Khardasi to fall. Summon the men, we march to M'Baku at once." -
[Community Review] Server Rules Rewrite
Lsuvsfar replied to winterblessing's topic in News & Announcements Archive
"Information on your persona must match your character. This includes race, age, gender, biography, etc." This isn't so much of a problem since nexus is gone, but please, whatever rules you make, enforce them. There were players abusing these rules that went unpunished, staff running around with multiple personas of the same character, and even an Admin running around on the abusing racial PVP buffs. So, pretty much here's how I see it with the rules you provided. 1. Typically I'd say no to using chests in combat, but I'd also argue it can be sort of situational. For example, let's say one player has managed to escape another player and completely lost them. I think they should be able to use a chest because they've made it away from their pursuer. Or let's say there's a raid going on, and someone is behind a wall, and goes to grab arrows or something like that. Again, why not? There's nothing really unrealistic about it. However, let's say 1 player gets challenged to pvp, and the person trying to kill them is right on their heels. If they deposit a bunch of items in a chest and then go down like 2-3 second afterwards, then I'd say no. 2. Let those that run fight. Honestly, the countdown system is basically based completely on honor. Based on prior experience, as I understand it there's pretty much 0 way to tell if someone gets hit 1-2 times before the countdown actually says go, unless you're recording. If you allow people to run before the countdown, then I think it pretty much fixes the issue because then you don't have to wait and hope that your enemy doesn't decide to attack early. 3. Yeah, just as long as the players aren't reversing suicide, let them have their week. It's their choice, in the end. Only thing I'd say is in conjunction with point 5. If PRO PKs, transfers the region, and then un-PKs, don't let them reverse their decision or use it as CB against the people the region was given to. 4. Yes. If someone wants to go rp the hunting areas, let them. This is an RP server, if someone wants to go fight another person, rp, etc. in the hunting areas, let them. 5. ((Get ready for a rant)) To my understanding, that example effectively defeats the entire point of the PRO system. As I understand it, it was created so that the RP leader was the actual leader of the region, and couldn't be sniped because their lord or some random owner decided to take that land from them. If you allow non-leaders to be PROs, then you are opening up the door to region sniping again, which was still not very well handled after the introduction of the PRO system. IMO, the heir of the region should be a region owner to it. If a PRO PKs the character which owns the region, then they should be forced to hand PRO over to one of the region owners and removed from region ownership (unless they are playing their own heir). If a PRO dies without and heir, then in my opinion, the surviving region leaders should be allowed to decide the next PRO, whether that be through unanimous decision or through an internal fight, sort of like a coup(though I'd recommend not allowing outsiders, since it's essentially a sudden scramble for power rather than a coup, though I suppose the results of the fight could potentially be followed up by a coup). Last map, PRO was handled poorly, so there were regions that people had PRO from characters which had been dead for IRL months, and thus just sat there collecting dust. There was also little enforcement of the actual region owner being the PRO, so on a lot of regions, the nation/duchy/whatever owner would be the PRO, thus allowing them to evict their vassals and not have to deal with rebellions since they stripped them of their region. TL; DR Let the leader of the region be the PRO, rather than the leader of the nation/shadow government. -
Lord Rickard Harrison would look at the missive, before handing it back to the bandits.

I, Leofwine of Halsworthy, was filled by regret, and anger, after reading the Pontifical Writ. The church has, in no meaningful way, attempted to work with Halsworthy to come to any peaceful conclusion. So far, we have been threatened and betrayed by the church in our attempts to talk to them. The first time around, it was a nun threatening to burn the citizens of Halsworthy. We did neigh lay a hand on her, or Mother Judith, instead letting both of them peacefully leave the city. The second time around, Mother Judith and the other nun returned, with Bishop Yurii of Haense, and many knights of the Holy Order of Saint Lucien. Though the meeting seemed to have its ups and down, overall I felt as though we had been making progress. Then, I left shortly to check on something, only to find more knights of the Holy Order of Saint Lucien poking around our northern wall. We were not informed that this many soldiers would be present, and soon after ended the meeting. On the way out of our lands, the Holy Order was not spreading alms to our people. Our people were all terrified of hundreds of foreign soldiers running around our lands, and took to hiding within the city walls. The attack in question did not happen from the citizens of Halsworthy, but from a bryophite which came by, believed to be from Santegia. Upon learning of the attack, we apprehended the suspect. Yet, the Church did not attempt to sort anything out with us, even after we informed them of our capture of the attacker. They demanded we send someone from Halsworthy to treat with the Pontiff himself. After discussing with my father, he agreed to go in my stead, to represent Halsworthy. Yet, my father has not returned. Thus, it is likely that he was slain by men at Marna. We have been peaceful; we have tried to work with the church. We have made it evident that we would allow Canonists to come in and preach their word in our city, some of which are Canonists. Yet, in spite of all of this, you still slander us. We send an unarmed man to treat with the Church, and he is cut down like swine? Is this what the church truly represents? For shame.

*Flyers Posted Around Halsworthy*

"Appointed? Appointed by whom?" would ask Leofwine, one of the leaders of Halsworthy. -
"Aye, tis. Yet, it still sights the verse as Owyn 7:2 rather than 7:7. Unless thou would like to share the scripts, I do not think thee stand to make a point here."
-
"I just did explain," he would say, finding yet another man who has mysteriously appeared right in front of him. Yet, all the same, he hands him the same document which is available to the public. "It would not appear that your count is right, based on this document."
-
1. Obvious Meta but ya know, w/e I'll let it slide. :) 2. Leofwine would rise from prayer, finding a Raevir priest-monk standing before him. "How could I not know," Leofwine would exclaim is disbelief, "It is, no joke, one of the texts cited in the Church document on how to properly cite the Canon. Failing even to mention he injected a comma after Owyn, when there should be done." He would then hand a copy of this to the Raevir priest-monk, awaiting his response.
-
"Wait," Leofwine would ask hiself, confused, "Did the high pontiff improperly cite the word of Owyn? The line which he is referencing, would appear to be Owyn 7:2, where as he has cited it as Owyn 7:7. Rather foolish mistake for a pontiff to make, and in his very first decree." He would then quit reading the text and kneel, praying to God about the matter.

No, your probably not. However, the main nations that lock their gates all the time (mostly the elf nations) don't care. They survive without you.

Have you never heard of a citizens' door?

I'm really not sure what culture Courland is. They're a heartland house, but in a highland environment. I'm pretty sure we were Swedish back in the day. Also, few problems with your map. Iran isn't arabic, therefore not Qalasheen. Georgia and Armenia are very different culturally from Russia. Cossacks are pretty distinct from the rest of the Ruskan culture, so I'd probably throw them into separate groups.

[Completed][Completed] top/coolest leader in history

Actually, if it was a meteor, it would have burned up in the atmosphere. That, my friend, is a meteorite.

"Hmm," Rollon muses after reading the note, "how odd that an entire nation would be scared because a few guys have dark skin and a few others had pointy ears. I would reckon that the men Renatus are facing a bigger crisis. I never took the Heartlanders as being quite a tough as us highlanders, but come on now. If you're at the point that Elves are a national crisis, you're bloody pathetic." Breaking news: Renatus bawls after losing women to elves.

Bastion laid down his scythe as he looked around in that dimly lit cave. He reached up, and with his old, wrinkled arms, he wiped the sweat off of his brown. He looked around at the blooming, red crop, examining the work he had already done, and just what he had left to do. Sighing, he turned his back his crop, and made of the exit of the cave. The nether wart could wait for another day. As he left the cave, he emerged onto the snowy landscape the separated he and his home. Halsworthy hadn’t always been cold, but lately it’d been frigid with the world ending and all. Where was everyone now anyways? The boats had already left he imagined. His family, friends, everyone gone. Yet here stood Bastion, alone. The last of a generation. He could still remember Old Riga, the first place he stumbled across when he left his ruined little home in the mountains. The wind and snow now reminded him of it. The wind flung the door open of his house open, and when he stepped inside he had to use all the strength he had left to shut it once more. He took off his wet clothes and swapped them out for a set of dry ones. He then made his way over to the fire. He tossed on another piece of wood, causing the flames to stir up once more and slowly rise higher and higher. He’d been though it all. He’d seen Riga fall, and listened as the Orenians stormed the city and slaughtered indiscriminately. He glanced back towards his window. He thought about years later, when later he’d cut down Orenians in the Goldfields. Then later on, when the snows came once more as he stood in the siege camp, as watch as Johannesburg blew apart. Finally on the field, when the Haensetians had been cut to pieces. He smiled briefly. It must had been some sort of divine justice. Yet through it all, here he stood now. An old man, his beard now grayed and his hands heavy from work and war. Now, in the end, he was alone. He threw a few more logs onto the fire made his way over to his bed, which he’d moved nearby the fireplace. As he sat down on it, he looked at the nearby bookcase. He reached out his hand and wiped the dust off of the spines. He smiled once more, thinking of the days when he read these books to his family. He wondered now where they were. How far had the ships gone by now? Maybe they’d already reached the new land. Bastion fell asleep smiling as he thought of his family. Bastion sat down on a sunny hill, walking stick beside him. The breeze was warm and blowed softly behind him, stirring up the sweet scent of the blooming flowers. He cast out his gaze to the horizon. Beyond the hill, he could see the ocean, and hear the distant sound of the waves crashing against the shoreline. He breathed in and felt a calmness wash over him. He heard the gentle thud of hooves behind him, and turned around. He saw four hooded men ride up on horses, followed closely behind by a fifth man in a black cloak, with a black horse in toe behind him. “Why, it took you long enough to show up, didn’t it?” Bastion asked the five men, as he turned back towards the view. “Just a few more minutes.” So he sat there, letting the clouds blow by and watching the trees sway gently as the grass tickled his hands. Finally, with a sigh, he rose and walked back towards the men and the riderless horse. As he neared the horse realized it was his old friend. He reached out the stroke the horses snout, his hair as black as coal, and pulled out a carrot from his pocket to feed the horse. With one final glance back towards the ocean, Bastion hopped up on his mount, and turned around. Riding off with the hooded men, he didn’t know what path they would take. However, he knew at the end, he’d find his peace. ((It's been a fun two years, but valar morghulis))

"But I'm still here," Harold says, being very much alive. ((If you have a problem with it, take it up with the GMs.))

Harold Baruch smiles as he sits in his home, far away from Haense. "Tis about time the bastard kicked the bucket. If only it had happened sooner."

I think it's times like these when we all wish deep down that the forums had a down vote feature. 0/10 Do not support this. Bad meme. Makes the coalition seem like a joke. You're fired.

((Wait, if this is the lore then how the heck are Ologs still a thing? Mathematically speaking, each olog female would need to produce an average of 2 offspring just to keep the population stable. Even then, you have to factor in some dying young, miscarriages occuring, the male not getting the female pregnant, etc. Taking all of this into account, shouldn't Ologs have gone extinct. In not, then at least become impure Ologs through consistently being crossbred with Uruk males to meet the shortage of Olog males?))

Hegathe Derik patrolled the outside of the wall with several guards as he looked around at it. While there were still a few spots on the wall which needed to be fixed, it certainly was not bad. “We anticipate that the wall will be done relatively soon,” continued the engineer, “We’d hoped to have more money budgeted to this project so we could make improvements, but it will certainly serve its purpose.” “Hmm, very good,” Derik as he continued his examinations. “You know, many years ago my grandparents told me stories about the great walls of Hegathe. Of how they had been the only southern city to hold out against the Aldmeri Dominion, hopefully one day they will become that grand again. However, for the time we can only spare these resources to them.” The sound of hammers beating on the anvils filled the air. The air itself smelled strongly of molten metal. The blacksmiths of Hegathe worked diligently to pump out steel weaponry for the troops. “Well,” commented the foreman, “not as much as we would have liked, but I’ll see what we can do with the budget.” Endon looked at him and nodded, “Thank you, we greatly appreciate it. There’s just so many things which we have to do in preparation to defend ourselves.” “Don’t have to tell me, lord,” replied the foreman, “My father told me about the wars Hegathe used to be in. Awful bloody mess from what he told me.” “And expensive,” Endon chuckled. “I would imagine,” the foreman stated, “but they don’t ever write about the gold it costs in the bard songs.” The hooves of the camels beat against the hot sands of the desert as they trotted. Each man riding them wore robes to keep them cool. As they approached the targets, the riders suddenly broke off from their march into a sort of extending line formation, which gradually curled back on itself to create a circle. The, arrows began raining down on the targets. Most of them, indeed missing, but what was to be expected. Shooting while also being mounted was no easy task, and the men were just getting started. “Knock, Aim, Loose!” shouted out the commander as a barrage of arrows flew from multiple directions, the majority of them hitting their targets. “Hmm, rather good,” commented Carlos as he overlooked the men slowly approaching from their hiding spots. “Definitely a force to be reckoned with,” Cartos admitted as he continued to scan the troops as they lined up. AP: 1 AP Hegathe will continue to work on the large wall surrounding its main city. 1 AP Hegathe will be outfitting all of its troops with steel weaponry. 1 AP Hegathe will begin training a corps of mounted archers. 2 AP Hegathe will begin working on training an elite corps of stealth archers.

Hegathe “This is unacceptable!” shouted Endon, “To see these people in such terrible circumstances is unacceptable!” “Yes,” Derik said in agreement, “It is indeed, however we must prepare first.” “Upon that, we can all agree,” said Anton, “We must prepare if we want to win, the Mage’s college included.” “The forces must be outfitted properly, and we must prepare for every inevitable angle,” Cartos said as he rolled out an old map of Hammerfell, with a few notes jotted down from what they had observed on their border from the outposts, the information the agents had gathered upon infiltrating the country, and information about the routes through the desert. “So, we find that our main force is here,” Cartos said as he pointed to the coastal border between Hegathe and Sentinel, “However, there also stands a good chance that they may try and send a force around the back to outflank us in the desert,” Cartos continued as he moved his hand down the map towards the desert, “If this happens, we need a force of cavalry there to oppose them. Not only will mounted archers be able to defeat a similar sized contingent on foot, but they will be able to arrive to us faster and warn us of the incoming army.” “Hmm, clearly we all have much work to do,” Derik stated, “Let us made it so then.” AP: 2 AP Hegathe is going to begin building steel armor for as many of its troops as possible. 2 AP Hegathe is going to begin training building or restoring the wall around Hegathe.

Hegathe Hegathe stood at a crossroads. On one hand, they could pursue to cause to take care of and finish off the pirates. On the other hand, they could cut their losses and move onto a different endeavor. "Gentlemen," Cartos stated, "For the time being, I believe that is in our best interest to turn our endeavors towards a different matter. As much as I hate to do so, we have very few options to deal with the pirates. They practically have one of the largest navies in all of Tamriel, and with their use of ocean magic any endeavor into their layer would be a suicide mission." Everyone around the table sighed. No one wanted to come to this conclusion, but it was evident that there was nowhere else to go but to here. "So then," Endon began, "What is our plan now? Camlorn, Gilane, Waycrest, Sentinel?" "Sentinel," Cartos replied, "We need to begin trying to figure out more about them, and test the last way we can likely get into the country, through the mountains." Everyone in the room looked around to one another and then looked to Cartos in agreement. AP: 2AP Hegathe is going to be sending a few agents over the mountains into Sentinel. They will be guided there and back by a well equipped party consisting of 100 armed soldiers, a few guides, and two mages to ensure everyone could be healed. The two agents are to get into the country, report everything they can on the military and any issues going on within the country, and then will sneak back out. 2AP Hegathe is going to begin forging Steel equipment for its troops.
