  1. Ghislain de Anjou sets the post aside after reading it. He will not miss the halfling pontiff.
  2. A spiteful creature smirked Savoyardly when it heard the news of the Alexandre's demise.
  3. In a place far from the silver city Curunir Maeyr'onn sat alone, the warm light of a flickering hearth dancing upon his features as he stared broodingly into the flames. Memories of his time in the Haelun'or flashed through his thoughts, specific formative moments, interactions, people and events, one that stood out among the many was his first creation. He wondered often what had become ofEvarir'naeri, not knowing that he would never see his prized golem again. I should have taken him with me. Such a pity that I left him there. ===================================================================================================== [OOC] Adele, I am so glad that you got so much enjoyment out of this character who I assumed would be a relatively small one in the grand scheme of things. It makes me very happy to see how cherished it was in the haelunor community and the impact that it had on everyone else's characters. This is a very well written post and I wish you the best in moving forward with whatever you end up doing next. I'm sorry I wasn't around as much as I would have liked to continue roleplaying with Evarir; he will be remembered.
  4. The patriarch of Maeyr'onn residing in a far off land shakes his head as the news reaches him.
  5. GHISLAIN DE ANJOU FOR MAYOR Penned on the 7th of Grand Harvest, 2055 AD ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A SERVANT OF ALBA Good citizens of Saint Godwinsburg, I am Ghislain Ashford de Anjou; a fellow citizen and faithful servant of Alba and his graceful Princely Highness Edward Alstion the younger. It is my most humble intention to submit myself before you in the candidacy for the Mayoral seat of this fine city. Of noble birth though I am, from my earliest memory I did not learn governance by observing from a high seat but by working the soil and stone of the Imperial countryside. In the modest Barony of Cleves I was taught that service is measured not by the name one bears but by the work one completes. When a field is flooded, we drain it. When a barn is leaning, we brace it. When a neighbor falls ill we carry their burdens alongside our own. These lessons of labor, of responsibility and duty to one’s people have shaped me far more profoundly than any gilded education or inherited expectation. In the years thereafter, Providence has led me here to Alba where I have committed myself to the daily maintenance of our Princely capital as its Overseer of Civic Maintenance. I have come to know Saint Godwinsburg not through the polished window of an office but through its very stones, its streets and its homes and the honest people who live in them. From managing restorations of our urban buildings and ensuring our holdings remain of sturdy construction and sound habitability; my service has never been that of comfort but of ceaseless dedication. Unlike a great many who seek public office, I come to this election without the patronage or backing of established family nor the expectation of advancement; I seek this position not as a birthright but as a responsibility chosen freely and with a singular commitment: to enhance and to elevate the lives of our citizens through practical, steady and communal governance. An Agenda To Serve You It is not glory that I seek nor the trappings of a title, but the chance to put into practice the work that our great city needs the most. Saint Godwinsburg is the heart of our Holy Imperium; but even a strong heart requires vigilant tending. With the support of her people, I intend to guide our city towards greater safety and unity towards a more prosperous future. Penned below are several key initiatives I intend to implement upon my tenure as Mayor: The Night’s Watch Initiative - A Safer City Together To the knowledge of many and all, we live in uncertain times; times where whispers of witchcraft echo throughout our streets and where banditry along the roads in our Imperial countryside has cast an uneasy pall over our daily lives. While our guard admirably performs its duties, no single force can cover every street, every shadow at every hour. Thus, I propose the creation of a civilian night’s watch; a collaborative effort between designated members of the Prince’s Army and trusted citizens volunteering from each of our four boroughs. This initiative encourages the people of Alba to take part in their own collective safety. It will create constant movement and vigilance along with numerous opportunities for the citizenry to act in a unified manner. These watchmen shall patrol assigned districts after nightfall. They shall report disturbances, suspicious activity and missing persons. They shall assist during fires, accidents, magical mishaps or other crises. And they shall ultimately strengthen the bonds between citizens and their city. Civic Forum Nights - A Voice For Every Citizen A city thrives when its people are heard. Twice every saint’s month, I shall preside over nights of civic forum; open gatherings where all citizens, be they merchants, craftsmen, maids, medics, scholars or soldiers may voice concerns, propose improvements, debate policies and help guide the governance of our good city. Saint Godwinsburg needs not a Mayor who reports down from an office, but rather one who stands among the people. If I am to be elected to the position, I promise not to be a Mayor who speaks to the people but rather a Mayor who listens so that all good and honest citizens are truly heard and represented. These forums shall offer citizens opportunities to engage in public, civil discussion of taxes, trade, education and infrastructure. They shall offer opportunities to propose new initiatives. They shall provide chances to address minor grievances unfit for Ducal attention. They shall offer opportunities to form committees to tackle pressing issues and most importantly steer the direction of the city in a civil and collaborative nature. Those concerns and endeavors brought by the people and which lie above the scope of Mayoral office shall be faithfully escalated to the notice of his Princely Highness’ privy council, that a dutiful synergy may be had between common man and Ducal authority for the betterment of all within our city. The Alban Restoration & Beautification Project As the Overseer of Civic Maintenance I have already seen firsthand what our city may become with proper care. During my tenure I intend to, with the consent of his Princely Highness, begin large-scale infrastructural improvements including the repair of worn roads and the paving of new ones, the restoration of neglected buildings, improved lighting and signage, and the continued upkeep of the sewers and waterworks. This ought to provide meaningful work for those good builders, architects and craftsmen while ensuring that each of the four boroughs reflects the pride of its people. Where others propose a single garden, I propose the continued renewal and evolution of the entire city, brick by brick. The Alban Public Health Initiative Aimed for the welfare of all who call this city home and those who come within its walls, the good health of the citizenry is not a luxury; it is the quiet foundation upon which every other success of our Princely home depends. It is with this in mind that I propose a long-term civic effort dedicated to bolstering and expanding the healing arts within St. Godwinsburg in collaboration with the Imperial Physician. The clinic presently serving our good citizens performs admirably, yet it is constrained by limited space and a lack of necessary tools. Under this initiative the city shall undertake the gradual but decisive transformation of this clinic into a proper hospital of the Archducal capital. This should be capable of handling a variety of complex treatments, extended care and urgent crises. Additionally, it should have enough space to accommodate alchemic processes and training along with improved stores of supplies and medicines. This effort aims to stand upon the simple conviction that no citizen should ever fear being left to suffer unattended within the walls they help to defend and maintain. Where the body is cared for the spirit is strengthened, and where the people are healthy the city is mighty. Community & Culture - A City That Lives Saint Godwinsburg is more than just a place, it is a people whose identity should be felt, shared and celebrated by all who walk its streets whether citizen or visitor. To strengthen the bonds among our good and GODLY peoples I also aim to support efforts to promote seasonal festivals and tournaments, along with artisan gatherings, promotions and markets. In conclusion, we can together made Alba safer, stronger, and more truly united. I ask for your trust not for the sake of my name but for the work yet to be done. VOTE GHISLAIN ASHFORD DE ANJOU For a mayor who builds, protects, and listens.
  6. "Hrm. . ." An Anjou hummed as he read the endorsement.
  7. Please for the love of god change the ******* map already

  8. Istvan stood over the body of Rosceline laid in the center of the courtly chamber, stabbed, bloodied and drained. Dead. Dreadful though it was to bear witness, there was a measure of peace seen now in her features as her spirit ventured beyond the veil into somewhere else. Heaven? Hell? He couldn't ever know, only wondering as he stared down upon her features that still held some youth in them yet. Before he left that room never to see her again he kneeled down with a frown and traced the backside of his fingertips across her bloodied cheek. It was smooth. Still warm. Such a pity. This is goodbye then. You were. . . more tolerable to me than most. I will remember that. I will remember you. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some time later the Crow did return, finding the Archduchess' grave. He eyed the stone with a cold neutrality, and atop it he placed a singular coin which she had given him some handful of years prior in exchange for some menial task. He had taken it as an insult then and hated her for it. In the end it was just a coin, and hers was just another life.
  9. A bloodsoaked bannerman mourns the fallen Frederick.
  10. "God damn that wretched niece of mine." An ancient crow grimaced at the memory of his stolen home and all of his priceless art within which was taken with it.
  11. "Children can't fight in the war. . . but the whelp Calias, a child, is leading Myrine into war. Riiiiight. Makes sense." Remarked the crow Istvan with a roll of his eyes as he cast the charter aside.
  12. "It seems you were wrong. . ." Istvan murmured to himself as he recalled a conversation with a flaxen-haired mountain woman. He watched from a distance as the Archduchess presented her babe to those gathered at court.
