The Wickocratic Framework of the Family Wick
The family Wick, known to many, is a tightly-knit group. Because of this, each voice in the family holds weight. Unlike most human families who rely on mainly a patriarch or sometimes matriarch to lead a family, the Wicks govern themselves using a uniquely created version of democracy; Wickocracy, if you will. This way, each Wick has a chance to hold position, vote in Wick-elections, and overall have a say in the family activities and direction.
This document lays out the framework and descriptions to the positions held in this family. It is to be noted that all of these positions save for Lord Wick are to be voted on at the Wicksmoot, which is another word for family meeting. Any Wick is able to call a Wicksmoot at any time, for whatever reason. In the case of the Lord Wick however, all claims of peerage will remain in succession to the title holder’s family and or clan.
At the Wicksmoot, if any Wick deems it to be necessary for an election for any position, then it shall be done. To vote on these positions is simple, the cannidates speak of why they are best, then the other Wicks lay a candle down at their feet to signify their vote. Note that even candidate Wicks are allotted a vote, and are allowed to vote for themselves if so choose.
In addition to this, one Wick may hold at max two positions within the Wickocracy, save for Grand Wick, who is only allotted to be Grand Wick for their tenure. These position holders may continue their tenure indefinitely, lest they depart themselves If Wicks are voted out or depart from their service, they are allowed to run for any position in future Wicksmoots.
THE GRAND CABINET POSITIONS AND DESCRIPTIONS:
Grand Wick: The Social and political patriarch of the house and society. The Grand Wick essentially acts as the internal “Lord Wick” but not always carrying titles or noble weight. The Grand Wick will decree rules of the household, be in charge of holding events and Wicksmoot for the family, and be tasked to resolve any issues that occur within the family. He will report to the Lord’s of any nation when Wick might be called upon.
The Grand Wick holds the title of The One during his tenure.
Lord Wick: The Lord Wick is the blooded heir of the county Warwick, the firstborn of the previous Lord. While hereditary, if there exist no blooded heirs, it would pass to the next adopted Wick in line. They are tasked with attending social events, acting as an ambassador for foreign lands, and ensuring the county is pure in spirit and body with the ways of the Canon. Likewise does the Lord decree tax rates, laws for the county, and the knighting of Candlebearers - knights of Warwick. The title is lifelong, lest the Lord renounce their claim, in which it would pass to the next available heir.
The Lord Wick holds the title The Lord af the Wickwald during his tenure.
Speaker of the Wickwald: The Speaker is tasked with acting as the Grand Wick, or even the Lord Wick when either are absent from their post. Acting as the face of the Wicks in most events, they often are the Wick dealing most with public relations. Often they write and release official letters, act as the official scribe of the Wicks, and ensure the family is well received by its neighbors. This includes being an ambassador, offering and receiving gifts, and attending social events with the Lord Wick.
The Speaker of the Wickwald holds the title The Most Wicked during his tenure.
Elector Wicks: The Elector Wicks are responsible for representing their clan as an entity. This is the only position that does not require one to be a Wick. However, one must remain loyal to the House of Wick in totality. There are two allotted seats for elector Wicks per clan. They are required to relay information back to their respective clans. The main purpose of the Elector is to vote in moots when the entire clan cannot be summoned, acting as a single vote against other Elector Wicks, the Lord Wick, and the Grand Wick. In this method, they act as representatives, and may be voted out by their clan if their interests are not communicated and heard.
