  6. Otto Gant would look upon the missive puzzled, "Well, considerin' we've never been informed or invited to a Diet, hard to go. Clearly these fools do not wish for our attendance. Maybe its time we make them honour an oath that has been unkept and broken for too long."
  7. ROYAL INQUISITOR; A WRIT OF SUMMONS Issued by the ROYAL INQUISITOR OF THE ROYAL DUMA Naf zwy 13th hag i Vzmey ag Hyff i 465 E.S. VA BIRODEO HERZENAV E EDLERVIK, It has been many years since the august body of the Royal Duma has received an update on the inner workings of the Office of the Treasury. With the appointment of Ser Vanhart Barclay to the position of Royal Treasurer, it is the wish of the Inquisitor to summon the newly appointed party so that he may brief and inform the members of the Duma on the status of the Crown’s coffers and the administerial affairs of the Capital stewardry. We hope to see the Treasurer at the earliest convenience, the next session of the Royal Duma, so that he may address members with any issues and or successes he may have encountered in his brief tenure. BY MOUNTAIN, RIVER, AND COAL, His Excellency, Otto Baruch-Gant, Royal Inquisitor of the Duma, Deputy Palatine of Hanseti-Ruska, Lord Regent and Steward of the Duchy of Valwyck, Baron of Gant
  8. INQUISITORIAL WRIT OF SUMMONS; THE OFFICE OF THE JUSTICIAR Issued by the ROYAL INQUISITOR OF THE ROYAL DUMA Naf zwy 16th hag i Gronna ag Droba i 461 E.S. VA BIRODEO HERZENAV E EDLERVIK, After the numerous issues brought forth by the trial of Alejandro Sands, The Inquisitor of the Royal Duma doth hereby summon the High Justiciar Adele Ludovar alongside Jovennar Atilan Bishop to explain exactly what occurred. It is our wish to further understand and effectively remedy the complications that transpired during the lengthy and tedious trial. For one, the issue of the trial being held in private and the spectators ejected from the courtroom, leaving those present unsure if justice was truly served. Another being the problem of ruffians outside the courthouse causing issues for fleeing spectators, robbing and harassing them whilst no protection was truly afforded. We hope to see you by the next Duma session to settle these problems once and for all. BY MOUNTAIN, RIVER, AND COAL, His Excellency, Otto Baruch-Gant, Royal Inquisitor of the Duma, Deputy Palatine of Hanseti-Ruska, Lord Regent and Steward of the Duchy of Valwyck, Baron of Gant
  9. Otto Gant lofted a brow whilst reading the missive alongside King Georg, “Interestin’, justice among the shadows is hardly justice at all. Maybe this is a matter for the Inquisitor of the Duma to look into.”
  10. Otto Gant would sigh, "If only this whole affair could've been kept private... the umbrage felt by each side should have been kept discreet until the time of the Herzenvest..."
  11. TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CELESTIAL TRUST, It is my honour to be an applicant of the Maric Ruthern Grant. I am Otto Gant, Lord Regent of Valwyck and Deputy Palatine to the Bishop and Palatine, Lord Iosef. I am currently undertaking the extraordinary task, along with a few fellow palatial officers and interested parties, to renovate and reestablish a museum within Hanseti-Ruska. With the hole the closing of the NGS has left within our hearts and the city of Karosgrad, it is my hope that we are somewhat able to fill and satisfy the needs of people who are eager to learn and wish to further educate themselves, and also to honour the forefathers of our nation that is ever so persistent. This museum will not be as international or far-reaching as the NGS, but it will honour the history of Hanseti-Ruska, and those who built the nation we now defend, preserve, and sustain. Thank you for your consideration. Signed, His Excellency, Otto Baruch-Gant, Lord Regent and Steward of the Duchy of Valwyck, Baron of Gant
  12. THE LOSS OF 'LACKSONS' Issued by the LORD REGENT OF VALWYCK On the 19th day of Msitza ag Dargund of 459 E.S. VA BIRODEO HERZENAV E EDLERVIK, After the passing of Kaustantin Baruch, we hoped he would be the last of the living legends of Valwyck to pass during our Regency. Unfortunately, this will not be the case, as I must report the untimely death of the Former Duke of Valwyck and Lord Palatine, Eirik ‘Lacksons’ Baruch. This is a devastating loss for House Baruch, and as someone who had personally received counsel and wisdom from him, a greater loss for all of Hanseti-Ruska. It was our hope that ‘Lacksons’ would live long enough to counsel the young Duchess, Roslin, and his great grandchildren for years to come, alas that was not Godan’s plan for us. To remind those who lived during his reign, and to inform those who are too young to remember his years of service, we would be remiss if we did not stop and acknowledge his achievements and reflect on them after his passing. Eirik’s service as Duke of Valwyck saw the expansion of Lallybroch and the Ducal Castle of Lichestadt, the formation and success of the Valwyck Bears Bucketball team in the ABA, the reformation of the Greyguard retinue during the Sinner’s War, and the translation of the Chronicles of the Ayrikiv (or the Deeds of the Aijer People), an ancient history of the people of Ayr. During his tenure as Lord Palatine Eirik oversaw one of the most tumultuous times in recent Haeseni History. He personally aided in evacuating Pontiff Everard VI and stopping the horrific Orenian attempt at an assassination and schism of the Holy Mother Church, He advocated and pushed for the Karenina Accord which allowed women to inherit just as men within Haense, He revived the Chancellor’s Report in order to properly inform the Haeseni public, and served as the head of the Aulic Government during the Sinner’s War in which we saw ourselves leave victorious. His passing symbolises a greater loss for Haense, the death of the Old Guard. Those courageous and resilient few that saw Haense through its times of great strife and obstacles and led us to an age of progress and reform with their heads held high, steadfast in their principles and beliefs. Without them, the downfall of Orenian Tyranny would not have been possible. Without them Hansetti-Ruska may never have come to the realization of its potential and pushed itself to the forefront of Humanity through hard work, determination, and resiliency; the characteristics of all Highlanders. The Impact of Eirik and the Old Guard can not be overstated, we can only hope to live up to their standards and faith in the Haeseni people. IN MEMORIAM 378 - 459 E.S. Eirik Matyas Baruch Lord Palatine to His Royal Majesty Sigismund III and Karl III, Duke of Valwyck Once again, we issue a State of Mourning within the Duchy of Valwyck to honour the loss of one of the Greatest Dukes Valwyck has ever known. The families of Baruch and Gant shall join the Ayrikiv people in their mourning and clad themselves in black out of solidarity for our loss. A brief ceremony and feast will be held in honour of Eirik, where companions and kin are invited to pay their respects before he is laid to rest within the crypts beside his wife, Anastasya. BY MOUNTAIN, RIVER, AND COAL, His Excellency, Otto Baruch-Gant, Lord Regent and Steward of the Duchy of Valwyck, Baron of Gant Her Grace, Franziska Baruch, Duchess-Mother of Valwyck, Countess of Ayr, Viscountess of Voron, Baroness of Laval and Riveryn, Lady of Jorenstadt, Guardian of the Hanseti Coast
  13. THE DEATH OF A STATESMAN Issued by the LORD REGENT OF VALWYCK On the 5th day of Wzuvar ag Byvca of 457 E.S. VA BIRODEO HERZENAV E EDLERVIK, It is never painless to accept the death of kin, nor is it easy to announce the passing of a loved one in such a public forum; but as Lord Regent of Valwyck I am charged with the management of the family estate and tasked with wearisome duty of settling the affairs of the deceased. It is because of this station that I must be the one to report the death of the former Lord Palatine, Kaustantin Baruch. He was found unconscious in his bed and pronounced dead of apoplexy, a hemorrhage of the brain, by Ayrikiv physicians. He appeared to have passed suddenly in his sleep. I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the many accolades of his tenure. Kaustantin served as Lord Palatine for almost a decade to King Sigismund III, he was a dutiful servant to his station and a respected statesman by his peers. He legislated reforms through the Royal Duma, something most Palatines do solely by decree, proving himself to be a skillful negotiator and an advocate for noble and democratic expression. His talent and character could be seen through many of his other achievements as well; when he eased tensions between families on the verge of blood feuds and when he negotiated an end to the Silver War with Haelun’or. Furthermore, he stood fast alongside King Sigismund against Orenian aggression and continued the no-nonsense policies that allowed the Kingdom of Haense to flourish on the global stage. His death is undoubtedly a great loss for our family, but also for Haense overall. His character and ideals helped shape Haeseni governance for years to come, and places him in the same upper echelon of great deceased Ayrikiv statesmen with the likes of Sigmar, Petyr, Matyas, and Terrence May. It is Because of his impact that I shall declare a State of Mourning within the Duchy of Valwyck. The families of Baruch and Gant shall adorn themselves in black alongside the people of Valwyck for the remainder of the year. A brief ceremony will be held in honour of Kaustantin. I invite any who considered themselves a companion or kin to pay their respects as he is laid to rest within the crypts. It is to be followed by a feast within Lichestadt as he would not ask us to mourn, but celebrate his life. IN MEMORIAM Kaustantin Matyas Baruch 372 - 457 E.S. Lord Palatine to His Royal Majesty Sigismund III BY MOUNTAIN, RIVER, AND COAL, His Excellency, Otto Baruch-Gant, Lord Regent and Steward of the Duchy of Valwyck, Baron of Gant Her Grace, Franziska Baruch, Duchess-Consort of Valwyck, Countess of Ayr, Viscountess of Voron, Baroness of Laval and Riveryn, Lady of Jorenstadt, Guardian of the Hanseti Coast His Lordship, Eirik Baruch.

The Ducal Council of Valwyck serves at the behest of the Duke, or Duchess, to aid in the governance of the lands that the Duchy encompasses. This Council has gone through many variations over the decades, often serving as an informal group of advisors to the patriarch of House Baruch as they administer their lands and set course to traverse the politics of the Haeseni Court. 16. "Stayeth pressed Barclames and Ludofarts." Alistiar Hamish Baruch-Gant would exclaim before telling the Bards to crank it up louder!
  17. Alistair Baruch-Gant relaxed in the Gant Manor, listening to the Bards of the Crossbows and Roses as they played his favorite song. He hoped he would get the privilege of killing Orenians just like his kin did only a few years earlier. Maybe he could even help some of the Haeseni nobles clean up their family lines that extend to the foreign threats.
  18. "Truly a grea' find to fill in the holes o' our families long history." Andrik J. Baruch would give his stamp of approval to his kinds work in translating the long history of a forgotten era.

  21. Andrik Baruch would growl, “easy win. Simple as.” Quietly at night in his prayers he too would hope his sky god would be graced with outer worldly treasure like many before him to fight for Iblees and the Kingdom of Oren.
  22. Andrik Jan Baruch would hear of the victory from an ayrian domestic, who doubled as his lover. he'd reply to her as they laid in bed, talking about current events and other happenings, or rather Andrik was talking and she was listening as was the usual routine, "The wiggies are out o' their element, they ne'er stood a chance. Easy win. Simple as."
  23. Following the death of High Pontiff Everard VI, Bishop Karl Kortrevich would sense an aura of darkness overcome him in his study, with a gasp he'd clutch his Lorraine cross and mutter a silent prayer to himself, "Bishop Benedict was right... the DARK NIKIRALA is coming to swallow humanity once more..."
  24. "OH MY GODANI!" Andrik would shriek! "The pontiff wants to overthrow two excommunicated, kinslayin' pretenders!!! I'm shook to my core!" he'd look around the dinner table to the unfazed Baruchs. "though' ye all would be more shocked... guess the pretender 'n her shite nobles are the only ones."
  25. Sigmar Baruch’s ears singed sensing the mention of his name, he’d shrug off the feeling returning to telling his kin stories of the good ole days as he drowned himself in Carrion Black in the seven skies. “let me tell ye all abou’ this piece o’ work Markus Kortrevich…”
