A Departure

A note is left on the counter top in the hollow in Lin'ame reading:

To whom it may concern,

I am leaving and going far away where I shant be bothered with peoples demands, where I should have stayed out of this simply doing what I did before. I will let Gabriel do as he will with his position so go bother him instead of me. You have made your choices and I have made mine. No longer shall I try to help you. With this I bid you all a farewell and hope that this will not be another decision I will regret later like the decision to intervene and attempt to aid. Do send tea bags by bird though if you happen to know my whereabouts. I tend to run out rather quickly.

Farewell friends, Irelia~

"Was this Mali'fenn not the one speaking oh-so-passionately about her kin some small months ago? I recall pledges and promises of only wishing to help the Mali'fenn, to see boundless prosperity, 'for the good of the people', and a selfless desire to bring such about? How quickly those words seem forgotten and hollow when one didn't receive the enviable position one vied for.

Farewell, then, to the upstart child that wasn't given her toy. Her kind of attitude has become all too common among Elvenkin these days, mimicking the attempted assimilation of Mali by ael'Tundrak himself. Noble claims on the surface to conceal, however poorly, a wanton lust for power and the intention to exploit even the tiniest unrest to make a grab for it."

The Mali'fenn do not need those of such questionable morals we will miss Irelia but the damages to morale brought about by her actions are unacceptable. Should she wish to return and is genuinely contrite concerning her actions then Irelia will be allowed to re-enter the fold. However until then the Mali'fenn will persevere as we have always done.

*If Irelia heard this she would reply with:*

I did not wish for power, as so many seem. I have said time and time again that I just wanted to help my kin. But now due to how many /do/ do such concealing such as the mad prince in order to claim power is now the conclusion everyone jumps to. To say I would want it is a /toy/ is an insult. I simply left because none listen and it is useless to try and talk to the deaf. I am happy following my own path and living life as it is was and is now. With that, I bid you all good luck in whatever it is you choose to do.
