*several notes are posted in various cities across the world, mainly in the human cities and one in the cloud temple*

I am seeking all valid information regarding the following figures:

  • Emperor Godfrey Horen of the Holy Oren Empire
  • King Gaius Marius, of the Teutonic Order
  • King Thomas Chivay of Kaedrin
  • King Edmund Sheffield of Oren
  • King Ezekiel Tarus of Renatus
  • King Augustus Flay of House Flay/Deadfort)

I can offer no rewards for this information except my own gratitude as an aspiring scholar, and humbly ask for any help that anyone can give. Please try to be as unbiased as possible so that my research can be done more efficiently.

Specifically I would like to know:

The persons role in shaping human history (if any)

The persons lasting effect on the world (if any)

The persons morality

The persons legacy

The persons overall signifigance (basically why they were important, if they actually are)

((Also oocly if they are real players and their mc names so I can maybe seek them out and ask myself unless this is metagaming))

If these inquiries above cannot be answered random additional information will be accepted and sorted by myself. Please post your responses on this note or send me a bird at abresi (pm please).

After a night, a neatly written note is placed under one of the original with gold colored ink.

"The ghost of this Marius of the Teutonic Order has been spotted around Malinor. I suggest you seek there."

The aging Hume-Druid smacks his leathery old lips at the parchment on his entrance to Abresi. He picks it out of a bulletin board, squinting his elden gray brow at it, stifling a laugh at some of the names and remembering fondly of others. He drags out a sigh at his past life, bitterly allowing it to surface to the top of his mind. He folds the paper in his back back pocket and travels to the nearest book store. There, he finds an ink sack and a feather, and begins to ponder the men, writing down his thoughts...

" Emperor Godfrey... Too awful much to say about him. Some see him as the plague of our five mortal races... others see him as the God of us. He was the greatest example of Humankind, he was. Strong willed, stern headed, and greedy. Taking a look at his reign, it would not be wrong to say he was the greatest and finest of all Human Kings, so great in fact, that he's the only one to ever become a true emperor. He started his reign as a measely king for the weakest of the then three kingdoms. As he aged and matured, he became wiser, more decisive, and more hungry for power, much like most Hmans. By the time the Humans exited Asulon, he had reconstructed a broken kingdom of four smaller lands; Seventis, Salvus, Renatus, and Hanseti. As we settled Anthos, Godfrey decisively took full control of the North by annexing Malinor, the first annexation of an entire race in our history. Shortly after that, Godfrey had fallen ill and died... an entire empire under his nose.... an entire empire he himself had built from piles of dust."

The old druid turns to the next name on the list remembering little from his youth, but still choking on the sad and sweet memories of Aegis.

"The greatest of military leaders... perhaps the greatest pure leader of all the times. I know not much of Hochmeister Marius other than a short encounter I had with him in his city many years ago. I knew more of him from legends told in my youth and my later years. He founded the Tuetonic Order and effectively made it the strongest power in Aegis. The largest and most populace town during this time was Al'Khazar, and he led his guild to sack it more times than I honestly remember. He was the key figure in the division of Oren. King Enor, may he rest in the Nether, passed the throne onto Gaius as he had no heir to the the throne and he was heavily hated by his people. Gaius accepted the crown, but not without the nay say of Eze'kiel Tarus, who it seems I shall get to later. They eventually came to an agreement to split the crown in the East and the West. Marius's crown was to be known as the Hansetian while Tarus's was the Renatian. If I remember correctly, Marius died with his continent; Aegis. He leaves the legacy as the greatest and most decisive military leader of all our peoples."

He continues down the list, not truly noticing the next name except from recently published book in the Cloud Temple library. He writes down what he knows nonetheless.

"The Chivay Brothers. I'm not too awful familiar of them as I was not truly present during their reign over Anthos, but from what I've gathered, they were truly the most ferocious of any single leader in our entire histories, whether Orc, Dwarf, Human, or Elf. I remember hearing slightly of them in my days of being guildmaster of the Golden Harvest back in Asulon. They sprouted slowly in Asulon in a land I never visited or never had heard of. They were just two strong headed brothers who began to build an entire military called the White Rose in their far off town. They were known mostly known for striking terror into the lands of Elandriel and Normandor for their hatred for Mori'quessir and Mali'ker. They had no true role in history until the moving to Kalos. At the isles of Kalos, they basically controlled Oren, becoming city guard of the village the Orenians had set up. They would strike down any wrong-doer who disobeyed Orenian law on their island. Their true rise came during the time of Anthos, however. They quickly seized the Westerlands, the land between Oren and Malinor. They would heavily tax all Mali who went to and fro through their land, the only passage at the time. They would brutally slaughter not just Mali'ker, but all Elves in general who looked at them wrong. This is where the Chivay brothers built their extremely large capital, the taxes. Once they grew financially and militarily stronger than Malinor, they struck the nation, bringing it to it's knees, sacking, raiding, and annexing the entire nation. Soon then on, the Chivay Brothers, were given the high regard as nobility in Oren by Emperor Godfrey. They disappeared recently with the coming of the Northern Scourge on a boat with the majority of the Orenian population. They were both extremely good leaders, using tactics of fear extremely effectively and because of it, became the most feared, and strongest military power in all of history.

((Can't find the White Rose thread :/ ))

He disgustedly takes a look at the name Sheffield and quickly turns back to his piece of paper, gritting his teeth in a somewhat suddenly educed rage.

"The worst of Human Kings. Worst of Kings of all this world. A traitor, a monster, a murder, and the death of all political peacefulness that once resided in the hearts of people in Aegis... Edmund Sheffield. Not much is known about the early part of his life other than he was a noble in Al'khazar who unjustly stole the crown of Oren from the man who wouldn't have killed Oren as I once lived it, the Fantastic Brett Perea. Edmund appointed himself king after the second king of Oren, Pampo Parea, second to Saint Daniel, was killed in a battle against the Undead. Not much was done during his reign other than a continuation with what had been done in Pampo's reign, but what is remembered are his final days." The writing of the letters looks to be penned more forcefully than the other writing, "The wretched bastard... he betrayed all of us. He was truly an Undead and brandished it to all of Al'Khazar as he murdered Queen Ivrae Sheffield and Princess Arianna Sheffield in the throne room of the Al'Khazarian Keep. He dragged them up to his master chambers, many people ensuing him, sword in hand, myself being one of them. There, Iblees himself spawned in the room to cast a spell on the doors, making them impenetrable. He devoured the Queen and Princess to the horrible shock of the citizens of Al'Khazar, Iblees chanting him on. Once he had finished, Iblees took him into the Nether, never to see to be seen by the mortal people ever again. His dynasty continued on after him in the name of Enor Sheffield, the next worst king who limply gave Oren up against relentless Undead attacks."

Tears running down his cheek, the Druid looks to the next name, weeping a bit harder. He looks at the name of his long lost friend, shaking his head to himself and continuing scribbling his words.

"The Phoenix King as many people knew him, including myself. As told in the stories of Marius, Phoenix King Eze'kiel Tarus was the founder and first king of Renatus. He rose to fame when he rallied troops against the corrupt King Enor Sheffield and successfully made him bow a knee. At this time, Al'Khazar was already corrupted and taken by the Undead as their catalyst city in Aegis. The rebellion took place in Galahar. After he had decrowned Enor and Gaius was crowned King in the East, Tarus built up Galahar and Renatus to be the most successful of the three-then-Human Kingdoms and establish it as the dominate and founding Kingdom of modern day Oren. His reforms proved to be weak at first, as Renatus when moving to Asulon was a war-torn recovering nation. As time went on, and Eze'kiel gave the throne up, his nation truly prospered. After a weak and forgettable king, his nephew Godfrey Horen became king and as told before, truly put forward the greatest nation ever witnessed by our people. In late Asulon, he, alongside other nobles, established the Adunian race and started another rebellion, separating them from Oren. After an exiling by Godfrey for his rebellion, Tarus fled to the Empire of Urguan, where he was awarded and set up another nation. This nation, from what I remember, was a failure. He died in the halls of Urguan, still a King, still a rebel, and still a Phoenix."

He finally peers down to the final name, not recognizing it, and not putting down any information. He returns to the bullentin board where he allows his old, wrinkled, withering fingers to nail the piece of paper under the original parchment. All that is signed for an author is The Wilting Druid.

Giaus Marius the First Hochmeister of the Teutonic Order and the first King of Hanseti.

Shaping Human History:

Gaius Marius' history dates back centuries and spans over several worlds. However, the most significant was the work he did during the age of Aegis, the first world that we know of. After the complete destruction of the Knights of the Flame at the hands of the Undead, Gaius sought out a new solution to the problems that had been plaguing the Kingdom of Oren and lead to the sharp rise in power in the Undead. His answer was the Teutonic Order, a group of soldiers and warriors with the sole purpose of destroying the many greedy or unnecessary guilds that were in high number in the Kingdom, so that Oren may finally be united as one against the races of Aegis' greatest enemy, the Undead. The Order grew slowly under a strict veil of secrecy, only emerging every so often to do battle with other guilds. The Order's strength eventually achieved great levels as much of those conquered ended up joining ranks with Gaius to achieve his vision under the banner of the Teutonic Order.

Gaius eventually fought and warred his way through several powerful guilds on his road to conquest, ending with the capitol city of Oren, Al'Kazaar. However, Gaius would not come to take the grand city of the humans until after 3 separate sieges, the final siege forcing King Enor Sheffield to yield under the pressure and accept Gaius' terms. And thus, Gaius became the King of Oren. But this was short lived as a violent rebellion group who also fought against Enor arose and demanded that they take the mantle of King of Oren. In response to this, Gaius decided to split the Kingdom of Oren in half, forming the Kingdom of Renatus with their capital city of Galahar (lead by the Phoenix Rebellion), and the Realm of Hanseti with their capital fortress city of Konigsberg (lead by the Teutonic Order.)

Gaius' decision to dissolve the Kingdom of Oren into two new kingdoms struck a cord in the course of Human history as it would be nearly a century later before the race of man were able to reform as Oren once again. His original intent to unite Humanity against the Undead in hopes of defeating them ultimately failed as the Undead proved to be an incredibly powerful force that not even the combined forces of all the races could defend from. Gaius Marius eventually died of old age in his Capital city of Konigsburg before the migration to Asulon and the collapsing of the Nether, leaving Samuel Bealcrest as the new King of Hanseti and Hochmeister to the Order.

Lasting Effects on the World and Legacy:

Gaius' main effects of the world come in the form of the Teutonic Order. The Order still exists today after over a century and has been the epicenter of many drastic changes throughout time. He can also be credited with revolutionizing warfare and wartime diplomacy. The bold actions he took on the field and in the war rooms is what lead to the Order's tremendous success early on and changed the way things were done throughout the entire world and all the races. Few were able to do what he did and to this day his actions are still used in referencing important decisions.

Morality:

The morality of Gaius Marius was at face value good. His cause was noble and true as he was able to eventually over power the Human Kingdom with the combined forces of his Order and the many allies he made along the way. There was never an instance in record or personal memory where Gaius behaved in a manner that was evil or with sin. He was a fierce opponent on the field of battle and a man who knew what it took to accomplish his mission, but he did it all with the best intent and good soul. His actions were not brought on my religious ideology or personal greed, but instead for the better of the masses and the future of an entire race.

The spectre, Hochmeister Gaius Marius in ethereal form, looks upon the poster as a challenge of his memories. A grin slowly crawls along his cheeks, remembering the accolades. Nonetheless, a deep thought rests a heavy burden upon his mind as the creases in his forehead furl in anguish, the sin of Empire still about within the Third Continent. He decides to peruse about Malinor ever-lasting, leaving a note that he can be spoken to at any time.
