The Red Cross Grows

The everyday peacefulness of the town of Chrisendale by the Cloud Temple is broken when masses of men bearing the red cross of Othaman flood into the outskirts of town where they begin to set up camp. Tents are pitched, privy ditches are dug, and campfires are made as the host comes to rest outside the town. Inside the Lord Protector's tent, the counsel of knights is assembled over a map of the area.

 

A few hours later, the counsel of knights emerge from the tent. Orders are given, and the builders in the camp are sent across the river to the great mountain of Aerial's Peak. There, the sounds of hammers on steel emit from the mountain as a fortress begins to be constructed. At the camp, the other men are hunting and patrolling the area known as the Province of Valles. The Othaman Banneren and Knights have begun their home.

Corbett, like Branaford and many others - begins ordering his Builders on a project castle to be built on Aerial's Peak. He believes this might be the best castle he has ever sent his men to build. Smiling, he slowly watches the progression of the Othaman Bannermen and Knights. The rhythm of hammers is his favorite type of music, besides the clash of steel on steel.

Lorian, Proud Wilven Monk of the Temple staggers past Chrisendale with the support of his staff, hunched over and slapping together his lips for moisture. He eventually comes across an area filled with activity, busy humans scurrying about their business of construction. He tuts softly to himself, squinting his eyes to witness their antics before turning back towards the temple.
