How did you hear about us?: - A friend told me about it

What do you think the server will be like? - I think that with a much larger community there will be more to do and role-play will be more common.

I hate players who think that making their character a god gives them more rights than everyone else.

Definitions

This is simply so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not another website / person's!

What is roleplaying?: - To create or act out a role to further develop the idea of the character and the depth the characters personality and lore go to.

What’s meta-gaming?: - Meta-gaming is speaking globally or to everyone rather than locally or to people around you. It can also spoil RP for example using it to ruin events for people or to make trades with someone who is not near you, this defeats the purpose of role-playing and making it as realistic as possible. Meta gaming can also stop people from playing properly and finding their way around the world instead of being told the exact co-ordinates. It can also mean that players are less informed on locations in the map because they are being cheated of the experience of finding it. Events can also be ruined, for example if someone tells a village that they are going to attack them through meta gaming before they do it, the rp will be ruined because it will not be a surprise. Meta-gaming can be done using the global chat for the wrong reasons or over unrelated software such as Skype. 

 

What’s powergaming?: - Power-gaming is to assume that you have had success in affecting another character. Like for example shooting someone with a bow and assuming it kills them. This does not give the other person a fair chance to react and therefore is not realistic or role-playing as it allows the character to get their way in an unfair way.

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

What’s your character called?: - Wyder Day

What race are they (and sub-race)?: - Human, Northerners

What sex are they?: - Male

How old are they?: - 18

Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family (Include server lore when writing): - Wyder grew up in a small town, New Abresi. This village was plain, which made being creative very difficult. Wyder had to expand his mind and imagine a life outside of wooden houses to a place where marble castles and flaming forts were. He preferred to stay inside rather than play with the other children. Through this he learned to read and write and became very good at it. But the other children of the village despised him because he was different. They beat him for using "big words" and made fun of and often destroyed the stories he wrote. He was also bullied for taking part in the famous celebration Red Rose Day, in which he would give a rose to his parents. He often tried to use this time to beg for forgiveness from the bullies but they stomped on the rose and harassed him for taking part in such a childish event.

    Despite this he still carried on writing. His stories described far off lands that he could only imagine about going to. He also frequently wrote about the druids and their incredible insights and views on nature. His stories included beautiful farms filled with assortments of animals, inns filled will a thriving community of people and plants that grew towards the sun. His parents seemed to be the only ones who saw his potential, and so one day they sent him away. They told him that there was no life for him in that small town. It was his destiny to explore the lands and see the things he had described. 

What are they like (personality)?: - Wyder is a very shy and quiet young man. He is a very creative person who often spends his time either reading or writing books. He has a crippling fear of being bullied once again and so often avoids people who look suspicious and avoids conflict all together. However if his friends are in danger he will try to defend them with the little combat based ability he has. 

What are their ambitions?: - His ambition is to write a book that will be published and read by lots of people. He wants to be accepted as a talented and creative person. 

Do they have any special skills?: - He is able to read and write fluently. He is also very well educated and so can solve logical and maths based problems. He is very stealthy having avoided bullies his entire life. 

What are their weaknesses?: - He is very weak, having almost no combat abilities. If given a weapon he will try his best not to use it. He has a fear of conflict and bullies and so avoids many people. 

Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: - Wyder has black hair. He wears an apprentice jacket with a belt. He looks very young for his age and has light pink skin.

A solid application, but there are a few things which you need to fix before I can give you a verdict. You can do this by using the edit feature, which can be found at the bottom right corner of your post.

 

For one, your metagaming and powergaming definitions aren't quite right. I think you understand the concepts to a certain extent, but still aren't totally familiar with them. If you need help, I'd advise looking here. That page on our wiki should help you get a better understanding of each. Make sure not to plagiarize, though.

 

Also, your biography lacks server lore. Try to add some knowledge from Lord of the Craft's lore into your biography or other parts of your application, whether they be nation/settlement names, names of important figures, historical events, or other things unique to Lord of the Craft. If you have trouble with this, you can check our wiki, or I can point you in the right direction.

 

Once you've fixed these two things, send me a forum PM notifying me that you've made the necessary changes, and I will review your application once more. You have 24 hours to do this.

Accepted, glad to see you made the necessary changes. One thing I'd note, though, is that New Abresi is a capital city, not much of a small town.
