DecoLamb 959 Share Posted November 19, 2013 Come on over and spam my herd with them. There's plenty of test subjects who haven't been fed anything or been bred since the 14th of this month. Get yourself all the data you need. Also, sorry if I'm complaining. But thing is, other people with professions have complained. You satisfy them with the promise of plugins to come. Promises of Skills and Magic and Shops. You promise ways to regulate those things, and they wait. There are still complaints now and again. Besides, did you really expect us NOT to complain when the plugin isn't working? Really? You expect people to just accept something whole heatedly when there's glitching and when it does mess up the real hardcore breeders? Some of us don't settle. I'm low on weapons and armor because I don't make them, i find a blacksmith. I don't farm my own food, I buy it from farmers. I have a very tiny little patch that is rarely, if ever, harvested only when I'm rping gathering herbs for my medicinal oils and poisons. I don't chop my own wood, i don't mine my own stone, I don't smelt my own iron. I pay and rp with others to get the materials. Really, the only dependance I've had on GMs, is lockpicking, naming, and I've only had to breed three times. I've listened to GMs talk. I listed closely when Mogroka was still here, I listen now while Sky is here. Since Aegis, the big brunt of modreqs is regioning, and lockpicking. Now more recently, naming things. If you watched Ever's streams, you see the same theme as well. Its mostly regioning and lockpicking and naming. When fast travel was down, modreqs asking for teleports to the wilds came up. Here and there the odd tent sale is asked for. Really that would be fixed when Shops is done and an admin tent shop can be made, or by finishing that particular plugin to make it less derpy if it hasn't been already. Chair plugin is back, which is nice. But you fall through the blocks after awhile of sitting in it. Breeding had some human errors, yes. I will not deny that. Errors exist, in humans and in machine and in coding. But the system Sky was working on would have given consistency to the GM team. It would have been a little messy getting it started, but once it was in place it would have been fine. So yes, I'm adamant in it. I applaud your effort, you and the other coders have done a lot to change the server for the better. You've added so many little cute tweaks that make it more immerse and fun. But this isn't one of them, and I don't have any faith or trust in this plugin's use, sorry. I'd much rather see your skills applied to finishing Magic and Shops. MamaBearJade 2090 Author Share Posted November 19, 2013 If I am provided the golden carrots, I will be happy to go test the system at the stables. However, if they want to test it, they will need to provide the carrots as there is no reason we should waste carrots on testing something that has already happened once. MamaBearJade 2090 Author Share Posted November 22, 2013 Sporadic, here is your proof that I was not lying. Eight pairs, over a stack of carrots. Not.A.Single.Foal. and yes, this is your proof. Sporadic 2844 Share Posted November 24, 2013 I better make a response then, as I would deem it unprofessional to leave it here. So here's my statement: The only things those screenshots show me is that the plugin is working exactly as I expected it to. Combining this with Teerz' comment (which you had hidden but is still very relevant), I lean towards the assumption that you're doing something wrong. Perhaps you should reread the relevant Minecraft Wiki entries. Furthermore, something is not a bug because you want it to be a bug. I have already spend 1 hour double-checking, then triple-checking my code, then spend ANOTHER hour plowing through Minecraft code. I work very diligently, and I am proud of this fact. I've only concluded your claims to be false (horses do NOT favor other horses in love mode, for example.) I do not get paid by the hour. I do not get paid at all. I would prefer to spend this time doing something productive rather than chasing phantom bugs.
MamaBearJade 2090 Author Share Posted November 24, 2013 Teerz's comment was hidden because of other issues (dont ask). If you want to come to my stables and test out your plugin, feel free. I fed 14 horses carrots, used up ALL my gold on your plugin. Sorry if I sound a bit PEEVED that your plugin seems to be working just "fine" when out of those 14 horses I got only 1 foal. "My plugin is working just fine" Then how low are the chances of breeding, because obviously, they are low enough they favor one breeder over another. FOURTEEN HORSES were bread in 1 week. I managed to get ONE foal. Unless you have a solution to my delema, I would LOVE to hear it. Because your plugin is ruining the stables I put time and effort in, and ruining something I enjoyed doing. Thank you. /end rant Edit: Here is how I tested your plugin. took 2 horses out and away from others. Fed until in "love mode". Watched as the horses bopped into each other with hearts. Little EXP noise. Nothing. Repeat with 6 more horses. Up the chances PLEASE or tell me how to get the horses to breed. Because I no longer have the funds to keep wasting on stables that are no longer going to breed. I cant sell if I cant breed. And your plugin WONT work for me. No matter HOW hard I try. Look I am sorry if I sound ragey, but no matter what I try, I cant get my horses to breed. I have used up all my gold. I am unable to breed. I would rather get a GM or SM to breed my horses once a week or two weeks with higher chances than go with a no gold economy trying to buy stack upon stacks upon stacks of gold only to get 1 or two foals out of over 14 pairs. Neri 3590 Share Posted November 24, 2013 Generally if something isn't ready then repeating the action won't make it happen any sooner. Perhaps the horse plugin could be altered slightly so that your food is returned if the horse isn't 'in the mood'. That should clear up any problems you may be having. PS: Just because you don't like someone doesn't mean you shouldn't hear what they have to say.
MamaBearJade 2090 Author Share Posted November 24, 2013 Freya, I am not going to get into why I dont want Teerz commenting on anything of mine. You can ask staff what is going on. (plus she is breeding at around 5 stables, so her chances are increased, lets look at 1 stable and see the chances) Its not that when horses arent in the mood thats the problem anymore. I managed to get it to "work" and sporadic says. The problem is. I bred fourteen horses using well over 4 stacks of carrots. I get only 1 foal. Now either I am having a bug, have the worst luck on LotC or the chances are too low. This plugin is costing me ALL of my mina, all of my gold, and all of my rp for that character. I dont like the chances, I dont like how much I am wasting on horses that will "get in the mood" and then not give me a foal. and before sporadic says I am exaggerating 1 horse takes anywhere from 2-11 carrots EACH. 14 horses * 11 = 154 carrots 154 carrots * 2 tries = 308 carrots total 308 carrots = just over 4 stacks
Sporadic 2844 Share Posted November 24, 2013 I double, triple, quadruple checked it and "my plugin is working fine" The only thing I can come up with, if you swear your routine is correct, is that a GM has decided to troll you by disabling horse spawning in the region that you are breeding it. However, in that case you would receive 0 foals, not even 1. Code is consistent in its workings. So if you think that is the case make a modreq. Either way the chance that 2 horses in love mode spawn a child is 100%. I did not meddle with it. The chance that love mode is ACTIVATED, however, is now chance-based, and I see this return correctly in the screenshots you provided. To clarify something else, if the horse accepts your golden carrot, it is able to breed, and with sufficient food it will become willing.
MamaBearJade 2090 Author Share Posted November 24, 2013 If that is the case, then when the horses are "in love mode" with the hearts and EXP sound, why am I no longer receiving foals? I am out of carrots, out of money, and this whole breeding thing is costing me RP that I had fun with.if your code is working fine, then my horses are pointless to have.I am tired of fighting with things that dont want to work.Idk what to do, I want a solution and be able to breed, but obviously its not going to work for me. It will work for someone who has 5 stables but not someone who has only 1 and is doing this, not for money, but for the RP.
Sporadic 2844 Share Posted November 24, 2013 I gave you my theory. If you think it's worth a shot modreq it. The only thing I can come up with, if you swear your routine is correct, is that a GM has decided to troll you by disabling horse spawning in the region that you are breeding it. However, in that case you would receive 0 foals, not even 1. Code is consistent in its workings. So if you think that is the case make a modreq. tnoy23 202 Share Posted November 24, 2013 Here's an idea. Gold carrots are 100% breed rate. Normal carrots are whatever chance this is.

MamaBearJade 2090 Author Share Posted November 24, 2013 I gave you my theory. If you think it's worth a shot modreq it.And even if I modreq, how will this help me with breeding? If all concidering, and lets say, my spawn is on, and everything and no matter what I try or how hard I try I still get no foals now.How should I proceed? Should I abandon my stables and RP I love having? Or what should I do? because for some reason, this new system is not working for me.
MamaBearJade 2090 Author Share Posted November 24, 2013 Double post but I found out something. IDK if I was experiencing a glitch during my first few attempts HOWEVER, I have learned. When I want to breed, I need cruz, he is my good luck charm. I couldnt get the breeding to flip out like it did earlier but it worked with him. I will /try/ this system a little longer but its going to take a while to gain back my mina/gold lost during the first few stages Sporadic I do apologize if I seemed ragey, but please understand it was very frustrating not being able to breed and being told that there was nothing I could do. EDIT: Side Note ~ Oddly, i got nothing saying "You horse loves the treat but isnt ready to breed" or anything. EDIT #2: So it actually might be GM/Orc fault. They turned off mob spawning in Gronkkston. I dont know if I will be able to get a refund of my carrots, but it would explain everything a lot better. *grumbles* Edit #3: Confirmed that it was indeed orc/gm fault. T_T But now I am out 4 stacks of golden carrots to find out what was wrong. I dont know if I will be reimbursed for that or what, but it is a bit frustrating to find this out. I have lost quite a bit of mina and gold on this
