Quick question if your still here and watching Spory....Did you add enchants for fishing poles.....I'd really love to find them specifically and I doubt many others are even trying for them. "No one seems to like fishing anymore :("

Thorns and the knockback enchantments are still in there. I moved sharpness and protection to the group that so far only contained the 'Fire aspect' enchantments, which will be released once profession-based enchanting is out.

Thorns and knockback? I wub yew, those two enchantments actually have a use in blacksmithing.

So if our character knew enchanting magic prior what happens? Would we be able to acquire recipes? Or perhaps be able to ask a gm to oversee our magic rp and enchant it for us rather than having to go through the extra step and make the glyphs ourselves when icly we would have an enchantment.

Fishing poles currently have... one. They will get more enchantments once we upgrade to the 1.7.2 patch. However, fishing in general is obviously a big project that could use many improvements to make it a fun and interesting profession.

Enchanting is getting a small patch to make experimenting slightly more costly. This is to make it more enticing for players to seek out an experienced mage to do their enchanting work for them rather than sit locked up in a basement and try it themselves. However, both will remain valid possibilities, hopefully with a balance inbetween.

Finally, those who have mastered enchanting RP-wise will get a few recipes sprinkled about to (partially) reflect their experience. It will not be instant-completion, however, nor are any promises made about future restriction / grandfathering of Enchanting in ties with a profession plugin. However, your feedback will no doubt be useful to the admins in making decisions on these grounds.

They exist, just weak, hard to find and even harder to retain. If they still turn out too common they will be removed.

Edit: scratch that, I removed them. I thought I was overestimating the difficulty at one point but it turns out I underestimated it.

Edit2: Yes I took out most PvP-related stuff. There's still some of it in there for fringe pvp use cases but sharpness and protection and the like are gone.

MAKE THEM RANDOM STRINGS OF GEMS, then no one will. Be able to get them without hours o work

When you say "one for fishing" I assume you mean unbreaking? I look forward to creating my awesome "Nat Pagle Extreme LotC edition poles.

P.S. And Idea I thought would be interesting to add. What if we could use nametags to name enchanted items....Is this even possible with a little coding? I'm sure every  master enchanter would want to add a custom bit of info or name to their work just as authors do.

You could probably ask a gm or sm to name it. But it isn't really needed and you could to your enchanted item without lore or name.

But in the end, they will be found, and the recipe will be leaked. So it's all for not.

True, but I'd rather have a method of naming them that doesn't bother the GM team with such trivial things. It is not uncommon to name any weapon, even those that are not magically enchanted. And something I have always considered adds to a characters flavor.

Also, do bookcases increase the levels of the enchant? I can't get an enchant to succeed to test this :P

Do bookcases do anything?

I don't suppose you could let us know what the total number of enchants released is? I hate too think that I might find them all some day and keep wasting emeralds attempting to find more when there aren't any.

Likewise....I could try hundreds of combinations only to have them added/implemented later without a clue. And have to retry all the awesome patterns again.

Not sure if you even could tell us how many recipes total there are...I've found some that work with Diamond Pickaxes but not Gold ones....or Iron Swords but not Wood...Very complicated, very awesome to master.
