[Question/support] Ooc Gates/doors

Now, before I get into anything, there is no such thing as an OOC gate. If there is door infront of you, it's a door.

This is contrary to what I was told in help chat once.

Craftbook breaks from time to time. People use gates to lock things, stables and such.

My question is. If craftbook is down, why can't we use iron/wooden doors in place of the gate?

I have had to put doors on my gates just so I didnt have to keep breaking my gate in the most un-RP fashion just to get in and out of my own stables.

Can we have a reason why we can not?

or can we use doors in place of gates when Craftbook is down?

I say when CraftBook is down, it's fine to use doors as gates. Otherwise, no.

You can use a door to replace a gate when craftbook breaks, that's completely fine. Just stick a sign on it saying that it's replacing the gate while Craftbook's down. Using a door as a substitute when craftbook breaks is no issue whatsoever.

What you can't do is make an "OOC Gate", which is when you claim that the door is an OOC way for you to get in and doesn't actually exist (and thus nobody else can go through it). They are both hugely open to abuse and heavily abused when allowed. If you need an alternative way into a building, build a secret passage or something, but you can't have a door that "doesn't exist at all IC".
