domainoft 191 Share Posted December 23, 2013 I agree with it, If a collective of the leadership of the server want someone removed, regardless of the reason...Why would that person want to continue playing here anyway. Unless you are getting enjoyment by making other suffer, you don't stay where you aren't wanted.
Blundermore 2741 Share Posted December 23, 2013 The fact that so many are getting angry at a ruling that seems to be targeting those who harass and bully others to no end in my opinion shows that the rule was probably needed... or is going to do its job effectively. Well done. I only hope the staff do not cave under those whom "whine and ***** the loudest on the forums" and their whims like before in such a ruling.
Wavejammers 328 Share Posted December 23, 2013 Consistently depriving another player (or players) of their fun for your own personal gain or amusement, even after receiving appropriate warnings, is punishable if deemed necessary by the moderation teams. This may also be considered harassment. Essentially, don't be a troublesome player that only plays to annoy others or be a nuisance. Does this mean that 'trolling' and cyber bulliyng, and anyother harrasment will be punished. + Don't annoy others? Or am I just stupid? This is a question btw. Viper3X 1056 Author Share Posted December 23, 2013 Does this mean that 'trolling' and cyber bulliyng, and anyother harrasment will be punished. + Don't annoy others? Or am I just stupid? This is a question btw. Cyber bullying has always been against the rules -- if that wasn't clear, it is now. Any form of harassment is punishable, but we are usually pretty lenient with this so long as warnings are heeded the first time around. Being annoying and trolling isn't against the rules by definition, but if it starts to cause severe problems then we won't hesitate to intervene. We aren't going to ban you for repeatedly asking questions on a frequent basis (even if it's annoying), but we will punish you if you constantly annoy and harass other players for your own enjoyment even after they (or GMs) politely ask you to stop. See the difference? The words "annoyance," "pest," and "nuisance" were used as descriptive/supporting words for harassment/bullying.
Stag 3234 Share Posted December 23, 2013 Here's an idea. How about you start teaching players to solve their problems and deal with it in game instead of stepping in and saying LOLOLOL We'll ban you! What you're doing is teaching players that it's okay to go on the forums and complain about being constantly raided, or attacked or ETC instead of dealing with the problem themselves. If I get my town raided daily, I'd hire some damn good PVPers, and build up a city wall, and then kill those guys on sight. Only if they try to abuse OOC rules, conning GMs, and loopholing them will I take it OOCly. No. What we are doing is teaching players that if they are going to be immature and act like they are the almighty ruler of the internet that we will remove them from their anointed position. If you fail to see what this means then don't worry about it and let us handle it. I assure you the moderator team is capable of making said decisions if necessary. I think this is directed more toward players who are being venomous for the sake of being so and more about OOC issues than IC ones'.
domainoft 191 Share Posted December 25, 2013 ^Agreed, I'd rather weed out the players that only want to create fun for them self and little groups they are in. And keep those that wish to create fun for anyone who is around to enjoy it. There are plenty of other servers for those selfish individuals to get their kicks on.
