What’s your Minecraft Account Name?: Derpford

How old are you?: 19

What time-zone do you live in?: Central Standard Time

Have you ever roleplayed before - if you have, how?: Yes, through imageboards, IRC, and Furcadia.

Have you been on any other roleplaying servers?: No.

Have you applied to this server before?(Please link past applications): No.

How did you hear about us?: Through a friend of mine who hangs out in my favorite imageboard RP thread.

What do you think the server will be like? It'll be full of grand exploration and world-changing quests--just like I like it.

Have you read and agreed to the rules?: Yes.

What’s your favourite rule / the rule you agree with the most?: The "no breaking lore" rule. Nothing is quite as annoying as someone who completely screws the canon over by complete accident (and, seeing as I have made such a mistake before, I know just how easy it is). I'm glad that I can trust others on the server to be referring to the official lore.

What is roleplaying?: Playing the role of a character, with others providing the roles of other characters. It's like improvisation, except with a few rules and regulations to make things exciting.

What’s metagaming?: The IC use of information that the character would not have access to (for example, outing another character as undead without any evidence to support this).

What’s powergaming?: Using the rules of the RP and the mechanics of the game to out-play others; playing the game instead of the role, so to speak. The main difference is what the player considers to be "winning the game".

What’s your character called?: Farran Floydsson

What race are they (and sub-race)?: Human (Southeron)

What sex are they?: Male

How old are they?: 20

Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family (Include server lore when writing): Farran Floydsson, son of Floyd Barrel-Wheat, was born third of a group of brothers in the town of Ager. Farran was the odd one out of Floyd's sons--at first, because he did not even have the strength to lift a hoe at age 6, and then, because of his fascination with tales of magical adventures and strange machines--tales of the fall of Kingston, of the aloof Elves of Malinor, of the great underground cities of the Dwarves. Farran was even more enchanted by the piston floodgate than he was by the storyteller, and within a seed he was trying to calculate how much redstone he would need to activate the floodgate automatically. He began to spend hours upon hours poring over books, developing such a pale complexion that his neighbors began to gossip about Farran's mother and a Northerner traveler. As he grew older, and gained more knowledge of machinery, he came to the conclusion that he would learn nothing more from the books in his small farm town, and he began to pack for a long journey north, first toward Abresi. And then? Perhaps he can visit the ruins of San'Orka, or maybe he can marvel at the mighty halls of Kal'Azgoth.

What are they like (personality)?: Farran is a curiosity-driven man, a lover of strange sights and strange relics. His hand will be raised the moment uncharted terrain is mentioned, or a trip to a city he has never seen. Unlike many Southerons, Farran isn't much of a socialite, though he can quickly become a fast talker once he latches onto a subject. He can be oddly protective of some artifacts, scolding anyone who handles them with a lack of care--particularly devices which are delicate, or those which are particularly ancient.

What are their ambitions?: Farran's current goal is to find a place where he can learn more about the mysterious workings of redstone--or the amazing magics said to be contained within runes. Like many Southerons, he hasn't planned much beyond "find a place where I can learn more".

Do they have any special skills?: He's already quite handy with redstone, and can easily work out what a particular device does.

What are their weaknesses?: While he has gained some muscle since his early years, he still is not a very powerful combatant. He can hold his own against a zombie, or a few zombies, but large numbers are only his strong suit on paper. And intelligent beings are out of the question--his fighting skills are worse than his muscles, and anyone with knowledge of basic swordfighting tactics will be able to out-maneuver and overpower him.

Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: A lanky, pale human wearing a simple cloth shirt and trousers. His eyes are mildly bloodshot from many late nights reading by candlelight, and his arms are more suited to the gentle action of turning a page than to the violence of a sword swing.

Anything else you want to say about them?: Nothing in particular, other than reinforcing that this is my first character in this canon.

Please give us a screenshot of your character’s skin:
