I really love your YouTube videos idea. Listening to you talk, seeing your facial expressions and whatnot, is (IMO) WAYYYYY better than reading your multi-paragraph statements/idea/etc.

And I agree with you on some points, not so many for other. I agree, that RP is fading ever so slightly. Some places on the server don't even really RP. Some people don't even LIKE to RP. Which is fine, but I not sure what people are doing here, if that's them. I have no idea how to fix this. I don't know what would draw people back. I'm just hoping the next map (4.0) will do that.

Trying to resuscitate a patient who will remain in a vegetative state for the remainder of their lives is seen by some as cruel. If we're going to come back from our losses we'll do it with the players we had, the dedicated players and excellent roleplayers.

I like PVP. I dont mind it. Elves were a huge majority of the bitchin' with pvp. I personally would have rathered pvp'd anyways.

 

But the elves stopped bitching and if you really dont want to pvp I suggest just go some place else for the next 5 minutes and return.

Well, the problem is it isn't that simple. Last night before I went to sleep I was randomly killed in a raid I had no idea about. You can't run from something everybody is doing without simply excluding yourself as a whole.

I don't mind pvp now and then. But the people that claim pvp default atleast from my experiences are very thin. And everyone if your willing to have a good rp fight will rp with you if rp fighting is your thing. Personally though. I feel the person who is being attacked should be the person to decide whether it is pvp default as in most cases they didn't ask for the rp that you bring to attack them. So why should they have to suffer by a person saying. *walks up to them demanding money* then they do a few lines of rp, and the bandit says. ((Alright PVP default)) In my opinion that is just bad and one should be able to walk away from that or it can be solved by them being able to choose what the battle is either pvp or rp. And if the attacker dislikes one or the other. It would be their fault for assaulting said person. And starting the attack. And in the end be it rp or pvp. They can always run away.

PvP default... I'm not sure about. There will always be people who abuse it, but I've had a few encounters personally where it has solved some situations. At the same time, I've seen it somewhat wreck some really good and fun rp fighting I had and I have watched by someone striding in during the middle of the battle and demanding PvP.

 

PvP default... again, I'm not sure. There will always be pros and cons, and all I can hope is eventually some sort of intervention is made by either the admins or even the players themselves to stop this. What, again, like Sparrow said, I have no idea.

 

Magic I very much enjoy, and have no qualms about it. I can't wait to see what the magic plugin is like.

 

And maybe for your next video you could take about the removal of VAs, that's another large topic. Or you could decide not to, in order to avoid the inevitable flame war that will happen.

Sir, I agree with you on everything.

 

Fortunately, though, PVP default has made certain conflict situations much, much simpler; free magic has made magic a bit less stressful (but less impressive), and less restrictions on raiding and such lowers OOC tensions and conflicts.

 

While I do believe these reforms decrease roleplaying in the roleplay server and encourage more power, I believe it has helped the server more than hurt it.

Especially the pvp rule.
I am sorry but.. that is just a no for me.

I have had three people by now that wanted to turn the RP into pvp.. because they had silver armor and a diamond axe..
Where I had leather armor and a silver sword.

Here's my reply to them when they would start a discussion: NO.

 

I am on here to roleplay.. not for the pvp.
It quite utterly annoys me since people seem to grow out of roleplay..
Simply because they can do pvp.. and it is quicker..

I wont say a name now, but two days back an orc followed me..
And kept on following me.., fully armored and everything.
And when I said to him, I wont pvp so if you dont want to rp get out..
He ran towards me and killed me..

Sorry but such things anger me.
Then you can go and tell.. make a ban report.

I think it would be far more beneficial to have full rp rules..
As in.. taking Quality over Quantity

Quality - Solo RP ( Raids and Wars can be PvP )
Quantity - PvP Default..

Most raiders are now told to set status's. If they PVP'd you then feel free to work it out or post a BR. Every pvp fight/raid ive been apart of since i was with malinor has had their status's set so we know who is pvp'ing and who is not.
