If you haven't already I would suggest checking out Denzel Curry.  His songs are influenced by Raider Klan and Spaceghostpurp and some of them have a bit of a trap sound, and his flow is pretty nasty. You can listen to his first album here:

https://soundcloud.com/denzelcurryph/sets/nostalgic-64

Robb Bank$ is another south Florida artist that is up and coming that I really enjoy. His mix tape Calenders is pretty rad:

If you want something a little more mellow, Flatbush Zombies, Pro Era, and the Underachievers are nice.

I opened the thread with FBZ, saw them in October on the Better Off Dead tour. They're actually really good live, their fans in at least Portland suck the d tho. PE and UA kinda fell off for a second, UA is definitely bringing it back. As for Aquarius Killer, he goes HAAM.

He has Lil Ugly Mane on Mystical Virus pt. 3, that dude is probably the greatest rapper I know about. It's not about the content of his rap more so the delivery, word play, and how far he smiths that ****. His producing skills are unparalleled Those thug ass rants are funny as **** too. I love that Robb Bank$ is named that, he's the son of Shaggy too.

Sub-genre: Hip Hop/Trap

Artist: Lil Ugly Mane

Producer: Self produces under the alias Shawn Kemp

MC: Lil Ugly Mane

Is this the wrong thread to post on about decently inspirational African American rappers who speak consciously? If so, Lupe Fiasco.

If not, Martin Luther King Jr. had two feet stomping his grave, that of blacks who went downhill despite his attempt to raise them high and the white man singing "nanananana" about the situation of a large facet of black culture lol

Not at all, conscious rap is still rap/hip hop. This is my go to feel good song, the production is magic, man.

Sub-genre: Hip Hop

Artist: People Under The Stairs

Producer: Probably Thes One, could have been Double K

MC: Thes One and Double K

**** I forgot about Dimes Got, it's been so long. Grassroots, never heard of them before, reminds me of Smif n Wessun.

I'll see your Tupac with a remix.
