The last Bastion in the North

Winterfell, not many have ventured there nor do many reside within her walls. We must have men stationed here. It is the last proper garison in the North. I stand here alone, keeping watch along the southern road to Winterfell, the one that meets the King Edmund Bridge, hoping and praying that I see guards men, rangers and militia crossing the bridge through the fog. But alas, none have come. Men are debating construction of a fortress while one yet stands, the last beacon of hope for the North. Will you abandon us? Will you not come to our aid? I will write a diary in the hope that someone may hear of Winterfells last hours from the words of its lone defender.

We Peacekeepers shall lend you aid when it is needed.

Winterfell is in need of a new Lord. The king needs to appoint someone to oversee the defense of the keep, but that is unlikely to happen. I will come to the defense of Winterfell, but I am only a Guard Recruit if I come I won't be able to bring anyone. But the gates to Winterfell must be opened.

The gates are barred, sealed with stone and mortar. An entrance beside the main gate is in use but i have found know way to fortify it should undead attack. I am relieved that men will come to Winterfells aid but once the warning of the undead attacking as been announced it will have swiftly fallen if non but I are here, manning the walls. The Lord is not to blame, he has told me that he tried to contact the King asking for men to reinforce Winterfells defenses but The King denied the proposition, it seems that the King has already surrendered the North...

An anonymous reply appears below the last. ((Using my forum name if you see me in game is metagaming. Wow, I sound like a parrot with that.))

It is indeed true that the King has already surrendered the North. He will fight only to defend his Keep in Al'Khazar. I do not need to tell anyone that he has surrendered the North though.

To the writer of this note, I would like to tell you the south has the same problems. The Undead have indeed attacked the cities and towns south of Al'Khazar, making them into ghost towns. They have not dared to ruin them, but they have scared away all residents.

This is most true of Kramoroe. Few inhabit it, and there are no walls. Only Factions are there to protect it. The King ignores the fact that it has no official guards, when the city cannot defend itself. In fact, there is even an Undead fortress just southwest of the city... And the King ignores it as he does the Keep in the north. How tragic...

The North has fallen, the South is dying. If they both fall, so does Oren.

Do not stand for this.

Aye. I grew up in Winterfell. Looks like I will journey to defend it. I have many...bad memories there. But I shall do my best. Even if my mind tells me not to go.

Tis the reason the discussion for the new fort is because of the lack of order in Winterfell. a Lord is needed to run a settlement and this new place looks like it has the right people behind it. Yer can't depend on yer king he's not goin ter' help yer.

Whose says we need a king to appoint a new lord? Why can't we, the people, choose our lord? The king doesn't exist in my eyes. Because we people of the North don't exist to him.
