Definitions



This is simply so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not another website / person's!



What is roleplaying?: - Roleplaying is where you live in a life of another person life and make decisions for them usually you make that character



What’s metagaming?: - Metagaming is where your'e character says something or do something where they would have no idea how to do it or what they are talking about. Example: one players character's name is Roy and another players name is Mack. Mack asks roy how do you make a speed potion. Roy tells Mack how to make it but player 2 character aka Roy knows nothing about brewing potions.

What’s powergaming?: - Powergaming is where you try to make your character do stuff which would be impossible to do. Example: Roy is being chased by two people. roy then turns around and turns into a dragon and eats them.

Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family (Include server lore when writing): - When tom was a week old his mother and father were travelling with him to the city of New Abresi. Once near New Abresi they were attacked by a bandit group. Tom's father tried to defend his family but was overwhelmed and was killed. Tom's mother running away with tom from the bandit group was shot in the head and was killed instantly. The bandit leader took pity of the baby adopts Tom.The bandit leader a human male named argon calls the boy Tom Fircone as his father's name is tom and argon liked the surname Fircone. The bandit group consisted of 3 humans 2 males and a female not including argon, 2 elves both male and a female orc. Tom was trained by the bandit group in different skills. The Elves trained tom in archery and a bit in a alchemy. The humans trained him in using blades, how to farm and mining. The female orc started to teach tom to read and write but when tom ask her name all she says is that it is Andrea but Tom knew that isn't a real orcs name. Sometimes she tell tom about the history and about other lands. She told tom of the land of aegis and the war with the Undead and how they destroyed the land and forced the people living there to find a new land to settle and live in. They found the land of Asulon and settled there. A long time passed and the inhabitants had to leave again because of natural disasters. They then set off and looked for land they found the land of Elysium. A bit later explorers found another piece of land near to Elysium which they named Kalos. Time passed and they found the land which we live on now Anthos. The two lands Elysium and Kalos were abandoned and the inhabitants moved to Anthos. Tom found his new love of history and wanted to know more and more of the land which he lives in. Tom was okay at most of the skills but he is best with a bow.Tom counted the bandit group as his family and wanted to come with them when they went away. At the age of 16 Argon decides to take Tom with him on a ambush on a caravan which he learned that was coming their way. When they set up camp to wait for the caravan the group was attacked by mercenaries and bounty hunters. Tom was out scouting when he saw a huge fire where they set up camp. Tom now running to the camp to check what the hell is happening. When near the camp he found a large group of human men around his family corpses and one man shouts at tom "Run boy this ain't a place for a child". Tom now fueled with anger takes his sword out and stabs the man now too surprised to defend himself in the face. The group of men now taking out their swords attacks tom. Outnumbered tom still fueled with rage charges at the first man and stabs his sword right into the man's belly. The second man tries to stab tom but only misses by a glance. tom now smashes his elbow in the mans nose and grabs him by the hair and throws hit to the floor. The third fourth and fifth man charges at tom and knocks him to the floor. The second man gets off the ground and shouts at them "don't kill him i will make him wish he was dead".The men then starts beating tom. Near to death they stop and the second man takes a knife from one of fellow mercenaries and starts cutting up tom in his chest and face. After he stops cutting Tom he says to the man which he got his knife "take the boy and leave him on the road he will bleed to death do to the cuts I made to him and if he is left on the road the people who will find his corpse will think it was just bandits". Tom was meant to die that day but what the Group of Mercenaries didn't expect was that a group of people walking to New Abresi would find Tom near to death and that one of that group was a cleric and knew a little about healing magic just enough to keep Tom alive until they reached New Abresi to bring him to a healer. The healer tried her best and saved his life but Tom was now in a coma an endless dream. Tom stayed in a coma for 9 years until his body had recovered. Surprised the healer which took care of tom said to tom "finely wake I see well we were betting on if you would survive or die don't worry I knew you would awake sometime and if I didn't thought that you would be buried in a graveyard". Tom asks the healer "how long have I been in a coma". "9 years" says to healer. "9 years so that means i'm 23 years old". The healer let him off early because of a large group of adventures were attacked and she needed the bed space. Tom thirst for knowledge brings another love, a love of exploring the unknown like in the stories he was read to by Andrea and these two loves bring him to the road to explore the unknown and know more about the land he lives in.

 

 

What are they like (personality)?: - Tom is curious and will go into the unknown without any thought. He is also a heavy drinker and heavy swearer because of the way he was brought up. He loves history and good stories and will spend a lot of his free time reading books. 

 

What are their ambition: - Tom's love of history and exploring makes him what to go find out more of this land and go somewhere where no one has gone before. 


Do they have any special skills?: -He has been trained in different skills but he is best with a bow out of all skills he was trained in. 



What are their weaknesses?: - He gets angry easily and will do things with out thinking and will regularly get a sense of bloodlust in battle.


Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: -Tom has dark emerald eyes one eye nearly covered by his bright blonde hair. His face covered by a mask to hide his face. Tom always has a quiver of arrows on his back.

Your application has been denied for the following reasons:

 

- Once again, the events in your biography don't make much sense, and this time, it is absolutely full of flaws. This random group of bandits just mercilessly attacks a mother and father, killing them both while they clearly have a child with them, and yet is 'pitiful' toward the child whose parents they literally just killed? That's a fairly ludicrous way to start your bio, with all due respect. Also, how did the bandits know his father's name? Did they know him that well before just killing him?

 

- Again... Your only explanation for your character's skills is 'X person taught him Y' (except for the part where the Orc lady taught him about history, which was good except for the fact that she is both a bandit and an Orc; 2 things that don't usually delve far in to education and prefer to occupy themselves with bloodshed), which really isn't acceptable as it lacks any real thought and seems completely lazy. Try to make the events following your character learning his skills more interesting instead of giving a 1-liner explanation for them all.

 

- There's a bit of powergaming in your biography; Your character is pitted up against 5 armed mercinaries/bounty hunters, who just killed his entire 'bandit family' with seemingly minimal effort, yet he managed to single-handedly kill two of them and only take a single scratch before getting knocked down? Even if he did end up losing, it's quite absurd that he managed to kill two of these clearly superior men and barely get a scratch before finally being subdued. In a fight against 5 at least equally trained or armed men, I'd be stunned if a person like your character could end up killing even one of them before he's torn to shreds. In future, if there's any fights on your bio, make sure there's no powergaming (Keep it reasonable and realistic).

 

- Your character's personality is, to say the least, extremely conflicting. While it's not impossible, I will say it's 'extremely' unusual and unlikely for someone who was raised as young as they can remember to be a bandit (someone who mercilessly kills, tortures and harasses other people for a living) to have an interest and love for history and geography. This is the sort of behavior I'd expect from a well educated High Elf who has lived a sheltered life in the Silver City, not a bandit who was raised to kill and terrorise other people from practically toddler age and has never seemed to have a problem with it. Please make your character's personality suit the sort of life they've had rather than going completely against the sort of nature that would naturally come to them considering their upbringing.

 

To be quite honest, I would suggest completely getting rid of any mention of being related to/raised by bandits, since this is a pretty cliche and rather ridiculous. As a matter of fact, I'd suggest completely avoiding the whole 'Abandoned/lost at birth' idea, as it seldom turns out to be an interesting and not ridiculous story unless you keep it extremely normal. Instead of going for a strange and extremely strange story for your bio, try to keep it simple and relaxed, with a few interesting events that help develop your character within. Just making an outright absurd story, like being raised by the bandits who killed your parents from the age of 1 week and then turning out to be more interested in history and geography, only makes us shake our heads. However, the rest of your application is good; Your biography is just in desperate need of improvement. You may re-apply in 24 hours.
