History

Wilfriche Buron was born to a Hansetian footman and his wife on the 1st of Sun's Smile, 1426. Wilfriche had a very good life growing up, and was taught well by both his father and mother. He was learned in reading and writing by the age of 14. Wilfriche was always a curious boy and always pondered of what lied beyond King Mirtok DeNurem's walls. Wilfriche had never seen beyond those walls and remained with the Kingdom always.

One day, while Wilfriche was wandering throughout behind the walls, he noticed something odd. The set of gates that protected Hanseti, and allowed for entrance and exit, were left wide open. His curiosity bested him and he ventured forth, out into the world beyond his home Kingdom. Wilfriche quickly found himself in awe of what was beyond the wall and bridge -- the Dreadfort, the large pine trees, the simple serenity of nature that he did not find inside the protection of the walls.

Wilfriche wandered for much time, filled with interest and happiness. He did not bother telling his mother and father he was to leave, as he knew (or so he thought) that he would return quickly before sundown. This was not the case! The teen-aged boy, about the age of 16, quickly grew lost. After all, he had never been into the wilderness before. He never had the chance to! As the sun lowered and Wilfriche quickly noticed that he would not make it home that day, he looked intently for a town or village nearby. The Dreadfort was out of the options, as he had always heard the stories of the Blackmonts and their misdoings. His only other option was Kralta, the march just across the Bubhovh river.

He ventured across the river and over into the town of peasantry, and quickly grew into the smell of cooked fish and smoked babalouche. He wandered through the streets with a mix of amazement and disgust. How could people live in such dirty conditions? He quickly shrugged the question off. Most of the peasantry happened to be kind to Wilfriche, namely the women and children. However over time, some of the male peasantry became weary of Wilfriche's presence. A Hansetian boy, here? A spy, no doubt.

The men eventually grew finished with Wilfriche's wandering and captured him, taking him up to Krelmstad for the late Siegmund Carrion to decide his fate. He was laid down in front of Siegmund, bind by his hands. Siegmund without a doubt had a good day, as eventually, Siegmund decided to release Wilfriche of his binds. Only under one condition, however. Wilfriche was to help the late Bogdanistan in his works as bishop of Kralta.

Wilfriche and Bogdanistan quickly became friendly with one another, but Wilfriche was very confused at first. Bogdanistan confused him -- the way he talked, acted, and the ways he "saw God" via birds and the like. This made Wilfriche wonder whether or not Bogdanistan was sane, but eventually he gave up the thought and continued on. Wilfriche became Bogdanistan's apprentice, learning the trade of priestly hood and learning the values and teachings of the Ruskan Orthodoxy.

It came as a shock to Wilfriche when Bogdanistan ascended to the Seven Skies on his flock of birds, in fact this very much caused him grief. He waited inside the cathedral of Kralta for several days, unspeaking to any men or women that came to him. At a later time, Wilfriche stopped his grieving, and returned to his duties. Wilfriche by this time was about the age of 23. At this age, he met Vladislav, the son of Bogdanistan. Vladislav and Wilfriche quickly grew to become companions, as they had so much in common rather than their culture. The sight of a Hansetian boy and a Raevir boy befuddled many.

Wilfriche and Vladislav eventually left Kralta, journeying throughout the lands spreading the good word and the Creator's will. In time, this group of theirs became known as the Jolly Band of Ruskan Brothers and Sisters, gaining more and more members to their group. On his travels, Wilfriche met many men. His friends namely Ailred Ruthern, Darius Bartham, Yakov, the late Ed, Tuvya Carrion, Iosif, Jimena and many others. He currently remains with this group spreading Ruskan Orthodoxy throughout Anthos and combating the threat of Setherien.
