A Tribune Steps Down, A New Position Opens.

As rain-less clouds fill the sky above the Fringe, a High Elf makes his way through the now slightly multi-cultural city of Tahn'siol to The Cartaker's Inn &Tea teahouse. Upon arriving, he pins up a notice with some blank space beneath it.

For as long as I care to remember, I have served in each governing council that has led Haelun'or. Though this does not mean an end to my planning for the future, I have decided the time has come for me to step down, and allow another to take my place. As a new Tribune is chosen, I have complete faith in the Triumvirate's ability to lead the blessed Mali'aheral.

maehr'sae hiylun'ehya.

~ Former Medi'ir, Delonna Aeléyèlsa.~

Delonna gives a weary nod as he steps back from the notice, before stating loudly.

"Candidates interested in taking the position of Medi'ir may proceed to make their candidacy known."

As normal, there is space left for candidates to sign their names when giving their speech.

Iatrilemar stands amongst the mali'aheral, a stoic look and a small smile dancing their way across his face as he begins to speak. His words are calm, melodic and seem to hover through the air, mimicking the soft breeze bouncing off the hillside city.

"I, Iatrilemar Elervathar, hereby nominate myself for the position of Medi'ir. Long have I made strides with you my kin and longer still do I wish to help progress the light of our culture."

Iatrilemar tilts his head down a look of sincerity as his tone changes to be more committed and assertive. "I come not to you seeking power. I come to you with a yearning, a desire to help. I have watched our culture blown away, scattered like leaves in the wind only to see those leaves coagulate, as if they never were apart."

The soft smile returns, his gaze drifting over the crowd as he slowly makes eye contact with each mali. "Through the last elven years we have grown. We have overcome much and now I believe it is time for us to begin to seek advancement. It will be my duty as Medi'ir to promote the arts within the silver city, and protect the integrity of our homefront." Iatrilemar's face becomes a bit more stern, his chin lifting. "This last seed has taught me much, and I have grown beyond the sapling I once was. Balance is something we need. A sapling needs fertile soil, water and sunlight. Lastly it needs hope, and while I speak in metaphor I find it most relatable to what we need."

"We need hope that we will continue on to be what we have been and are meant to be. I stand here, not as a sapling, but not quite an elder tree, saying I am ready to stand as a beacon amongst the mali'aheral. To learn, grow and share what wisdom I have with my kin. To clear a canvas so we can paint a brighter future. To show the realm the beauty we posses and to ingrain our silver roots through time."

"I hope you can agree with me lliran."
Iatrilemar leans into a bow -

"maehr'sae hiylun'ehya."

-Before stepping down from whatever podium he had previously placed himself upon.

Volé steps up to whatever podium Iatrilemar had been standing on. As the high elf looks around at his fellows, his facial features tensed up in concentration on what he was about to say. After taking a deep breath, however, he relaxes and a moment of clarity overcomes him.

"Venerated mali'aheral, I address you today as your Tilruir'sil. I have served in my position some time now. During my experience, I have observed you; I have learned your ways, and I have adapted. I would like to proclaim my intent for the candidacy of the high office of Medi'ir.

"In this service, I will introduce a new level of communication between government and citizenry. It is imperative that the citizens who elect me know how I am fulfilling my duty as Medi'ir and can replace me swiftly and with ease should I slack in this responsibility. My attitude towards this position is straightforward: I regard all government positions as offices in which to serve the citizens, not as a title or honor, nor a way to propagate some individual agenda. I will involve citizens in the processes of government by holding regular open forums in which we can discuss these matters as a community.

"Speak the will of the mali'aheral."

Volé executes a respectful nod to any bystanders, reciting in a fashion similar to Iatrilemar,

"maehr'sae hiylun'ehya."

Dasyra Linath stands as the other two finish there speeches, she would pause for a moment as she observes the gathered crowd muttering to herself, barely audible for those even standing at the front of the group.

"I tried before, I may as well try again.. It cannot go as badly as last time."

With that, her tone increases as she begins to talk to the gathered.

"Many of you know me by now, from meetings within lin'everal, the.. er. tomb and also this new cihi of tahn'siol. Over the past few elven days whilst Lelien has been away, I have dealt with many a issue that arose upon our doorstep. To name a few.. The original peace with the Uruk, no medi'ir or the Sohaer was around so I took it into my own hands and began conversing, I privately obtained the old, which have now seemingly been ignored, peace terms and forwarded them on to the former medi'ir. Not only this, yet several encounters with other races including bortu, mali'ame and valah upon our gates have only lead to positive things, the bortu even gave us, though bizarre, some gifts. Yet gifts nevertheless.

However, I noticed one key issue when dealing with all of these problems. I possessed no.. authority I guess the word is. I could always take, and relay information yet not being able to enact or assist in any way hindered the progress of the decisions greatly. If I were medi'ir these problems would fade, allowing me to accurately represent the mali'aheral when others cannot.

However, I'm sure many of you gathered care not about the past and wish to know what I would do in the future. I believe the mali'aheral have entered a new era of living, you dont have to look far to see we have.. adapted our old ways allowing both kha and mali'ker to live within the walls of our cihi. We've also learnt hostile aggression towards other races often cause devastating consequences, and -some- are slowly beginning to adapt to a more friendly personality. Whilst I do wish for the mali'aheral to become better antiquated with the lessers I do keep in mind that the mali'aheral have traditions and a.. unique culture that must be upheld. The principle of the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya must be reinforced and bought back into society, I cannot think of the last time a mali'thil has presented something groundbreaking and new.. To assist, I would contract laboratories to be constructed within Tahn'siol in order to break us from these constraints we have been so long trapped within, even in the tomb, a facility built for nothing but science I saw little innovations being made, just cheese factories and wine breweries.

This is where I shall end my speech, I must admit largely better than before. If you have further questions I will happily answer them."

With that, she turns writing her name upon the piece of paper "Dasyra Linath"  before turning back to the crowd, nodding once and returning to her seat.
