A large, bright poster is pinned to the noticeboard, and fliers are handed to each and every Halfling in Ivybend. The event being advertised seems to bring excitement into the town, as it is election time!

 

 

ELECTIONS!

 

Ivybend is requiring something new, a great change to the way things are now... Ivybend needs a mayor! Mayors will bring new life into the town by leading the Halflings, overseeing affairs with the Tall Folk, and keeping the town in good shape.

 

Duties of a Mayor: 

- oversee the town's well-being

- keep villagers in good terms with each other

- appoint a Sheriff

- ensure the town is productive

- deal with foreign folk

- bestow burrow ownership

 

Requirements to run for Mayor:

- must be able to donate time to the position

- a level head

- must be a burrow owner

- must abide by all laws

 

Current runners up:

- Sheriff Rolo Bucketfoot

- Papo Willowbottom

 

All votes must be entered before Springtime!

 

Note: the Mayor will appoint a new Sheriff.

 

 

The whole village bustles with excitement as they wonder... who will be elected to the position of Mayor?! Who will lead the Halflings?

((Is there a place to find all of these "laws" and find out how the burrow situation is?

 

I lived in Summerset and Lenfarthing for years.. and currently it seems like there is no information or help in regards to the halfling community right now.  Every time I enter the town I have a pretty crap experience. So far its kept me and a couple others away since the 3.5 shift and I keep getting messages about contributing to the group as a whole. Right now I don't even want to be around it.))

Considering that there aren't actually that many hobbits in Ivybend that "own" burrows, I'm saying that any halfling who calls Ivybend home can vote for their favored candidate and can run.

 

Also, I'd rather not have the actual voting process start until we have all of our candidates accounted for. It's fair that way.
