ToenailTickler 290 Share Posted April 28, 2014 CULTS AND SHAMANS (Translated to common by Torn) WHAT ARE CULTS Groups of Shamans, and normal orcs, who are dedicated to a specific spirit. They worship this spirit through different rituals and practices. Generally sacrifices, chants, and doing acts in the spirits name. By worshiping these spirits you help to bring balance to the Spirit world. WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN A CULT They help to bring balance to the spirit world. You can join as many cults as you want but only lead one. The head shaman is like the guide for all cults in a way. HOW TO MAKE A CULT Gather a Group of like minded orcs. Get a Shaman. Have the shaman communicate with the Spirit of your choosing to find out what their shrine is, their rituals, and their goal. Profit. With Lots of love -Torn 'Guzguz' Gorkil OOC: So... Shamans are now divided into cults with a head spiritual guide of the head shomo. You can make a cult to any ORCISH spirit you want. Except Ixli since he made dark shamans... or make an Ixli cult #YOLO. But anyways... here ya go. All my idea. And maybe some other people's ideas.

PtahWithin 1320 Share Posted April 28, 2014 Loving Shaman organisation. Feels like the beginning of something great. It recalls to mind when the Druids were nothing more than a bunch of hippies in a nice grove. Then, all of a sudden they grew incredibly huge, sustaining a large population throughout all of the successive maps, even so much as to several times split into different circles. Perhaps this is the beginning of the Great Krugaissance?

PtahWithin 1320 Share Posted April 29, 2014 I'm afraid I have/will have too much on my plate. I'm willing to assist anyone who asks for my help, though.
Ned Lud 1260 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Although you can be a member of more than one cult, I would recommend that orcs try to focus themselves on primarily one cult each depending on their style, and that the number of cults doesn't get so large that we've got, for example, six cults with only 2-3 members. This happened when we started making too many clans. The older clans had anywhere from 10-30 members and newer offshoot clans barely ever saw more than five apiece. We tried the Warlord thing and then we tried to break off into clan camps and each time we ended up being spread way too thin, with Gorkil and Lur pretty much dominating the hell out of the population. I'd say 2-4 cults is a good number to start with until we get our numbers up to sustain more and expand. We should also have interactions between the cults, joint efforts and also rivalries to keep things interesting and to keep all of the cults working together to promote role-play within the race and nation as a whole. Anyhow, it's cool to return and see the beginnings of a possible rebirth here.
PtahWithin 1320 Share Posted April 30, 2014 I'd advise that you implement OOC restrictions on the formations of cults when you feel you have enough. They seem to hinge on some revelation, so the best way for this restriction to take place is for the Shamans to simply declare no revelations shall be given, which they have the OOC authority to do as the controllers of orcish spirit lore. Also, for any interested in leading a third cult, I have an idea which I do not have the time to run myself - send me a PM.
