Set A Release Date For 4.0

Something that is making a lot of people not play right now is the temp map. If we have a release set they will know at what point their stuff will be left behind.

A release date will allow the largely useless MT to try and create a trailer to get some hype for that day. Let everyone know a month or so in advance! Don't wait until a few days before.

People work better with deadlines. Give them one they will meet it. If it isn't done yet, just don't add it until after the release.

You have been here since Aegis correct? i have been though every map transmission setting a date to have it all done is a bad every other time just making things harder and putting more pressure on when its not needed things might and will go wrong. When the date comes and things are not ready for many reasons it just a disappointment for every one. Leave our hate of the MT out of it if you think you can help or even do a better job apply and prove you can not just bash on groups on the forums we are all here and should keep it civil. Honestly, I'd rather a fully-complete map and plugin system at some undecided deadline so the staff can work without being under stress and make 4.0 as enjoyable as possible. You have to remember these people have lives too. They are providing US with a game, taking time out of their lives to code and plan and build and organize for the maximum enjoyment. The periodic updates are wonderful, and a progress bar might be good (I saw a percentage-complete table in one of Alan's posts that was really reassuring), but a set date? No.

A progress bar would be beneficial, a release date not so much. I wish I could record videos cuz I would make some dev blogs. Regardless I am in charge of 3 biomes atm and haven't been able to work due to mid terms. I plan on getting them done within the next week or so. SO there is progress being made.
