A Call For A Purge

As the desert sun pounds the sands of Krugmar, any Shamans would feel a pull on their minds and spirits. The pull gradually grows stronger and their grasp on reality grows weaker, until eventually they slip into unconsciousness. As each of the Shamans open their eyes, they would see all their kind gathered around in a circle upon an infinitely expanding sea of pure silver. Confused looks are shared as they find they cannot move their legs from their spot. After a few moments of anxious waiting, the silver in the centre of the circle stirs and bubbles.

 

A humanoid form rises up from the sea, rising far above each of the gathered Shamans. With a clear yet powerful voice, the form speaks in the tongue of the Spirits.

 

"I shall not waste time, mortal Shamans. There is a great evil at work, perhaps more dangerous than my kin, Ixli. For a great deal of years now, your kind had managed to keep the spirit Ikuras locked away, though you did not know of this act or of this Spirit. However, as the sands of time flow ever onward, that stalwart defense has gradually eroded, and now the followers of this Spirit seek to free him from his prison. I cannot say exactly where, only that he is within the crystal key, and that his followers can not succeed. Do not fail on pain of dishonour."

 

The form of the Spirit retreats back into the sea, and the vision begins to fade. As it does so, four figures can be seen, cloaked in darkness, zooming in on one as everything once again goes black. Once again, the Shamans open their eyes, this time to reality, with only the remnants of the events in their mind's eye.
