Soblin 0 Share Posted August 9, 2014 Out-Of-Character Information The simplest section of the application. Answer these questions so we can get to know you a bit more. Please do your best to correct spelling and grammatical errors, this is an RP server and writing is the main form of communication! What’s your Minecraft Account Name?: - Soblin How old are you?: - 15 Have you ever roleplayed on a minecraft server before? If so, where?: - I have only had experience role playing on Tyrenale for a couple of months Have you applied to this server before? (Please link past applications): - This is my first application as I am moving over with friends from Tyrenale How did you hear about us?: - Through a friend on Tyrenale called Lyonhearted What do you think the server will be like? - From what I have read and seen theres is a great deal of grand architecture for each of the cities and there is a large amount of varied races to choose from. With a large population on the server I feel there will be a lot of interesting people to meet and rp with which since I am still "nooby" at roleplay it will give a very unique experience. Have you read and agreed to the rules?: - I have read and I agree fully to the rules. What’s the rule you agree with the most?: - The portion regarding meta gaming and power gaming. On the previous server I was on individuals caused trouble by meta gaming information they should not know. it was debateable whether it was metagaming but the characters they played tried hard to find the information they found OOC IC so that they may act on it IC. This was a very annoying matter as it led to several IC implications that nobody wanted. Regarding power gaming it is simply annoying that during something such as RP PVP a person emotes "Backflips away from the attack spearing his opponent with his thrown sword whilst doing so" when they are a dwarf. Such actions as these break the immersion of RP and is an annoying occurance, especially if it is an emote that has permanent effects such as "Cuts of his arm" Without a players consent nor proper reasoning for such an action to occur. Do you understand combat rules, and what you can and can’t do if you do choose to roleplay as a villain?:- I have read the rules regarding combat but I couldnt find the rules regarding becoming a villain on the rules tab of your sight. I do not believe I will become a villain though and if I do I can read such rules at a later date. Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense?(If so maybe we can help clear it up! You will not be denied for having a question on the rules): - I would like to ask for clarification regarding the cloud temple and deaths. It is stated that an rp death would result in revival at the cloud temple, does this mean that a character cannot experience an IC death? If they can would I be right in assuming such a death would be overseen by a GM or admin of some sort? - I would like to clarify factors in regards to powergaming. Would consent be needed from both parties if an action such as amputation occurs? If powergaming occurs in RP PVP is that reason enough to change to mc pvp or leave the fight as it is an unfair battle? should powergaming occur is there a procedure such as calling a GM or admin to officially void the emote or is this rp completely run by players? Definitions These terms are a major part of the server and in a few of our rules. Please define them so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers or check on our wiki, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person! What is roleplaying?: - The act of stepping into the shoes of a character you, as an individual have created and acting as them, in doing so going about their life. What’s metagaming?: - The act of using OOC knowledge that your character does not know and acting upon it IC. What’s powergaming?: - To force an action or result on another individual which would not make IC sense or causes a change to the individuals character which they do not consent to. Most lore can be found on our wiki.): - Abandoned as a young child, Kozan lived at an orphanage in the city of Kingston. As Kozan was abandoned at such a young age as of present day he has no memory of his parents, nor much of his early life in the orphanage all those years ago.As the boy grew he ventured out with many of the other orphan boys and explored the thriving trade city though only one side as during the day the city was filled with merchants and traders advertising their goods and with the citizens of Kingston bartering with them to change the prices, yet as night fell the thieves of the city came out of hiding. The orphanage was not a prime target luckily as they rarely had spare funds but the rulers of the city as well as the traders who stayed over night were prime targets for these thieves. The boys became accustomed to the site of windows being broken overnight and individuals complaining to authorities about their missing goods some of Kozans friends began partaking in such actions. Many of the orphan boys who barely had enough to live off in the orphanage had a glint in their eyes as they began to walk through the markets yet few would return back to the orphanage unscathed with their goods. None of the boys had skill with theiving from individuals and so the common method was to have one group act as a distraction whilst the others grabbed whatever they could and run. Simple to say many were caught and beaten for their misbehavior. Kozan never took part in these activities, but would always see those who were beaten and the pain they had suffered. The years passed many boys who started as theives were detered after several beatings after their failed attempts and upon coming of age would leave the orphanage at be apprenticed under merchants or smiths as they tried to make lives for themselves. Quite a few boys were less ambitious and turned to more manual labour such as farming or in mining but there were still remnants of those boys who spent their early days theiving and had improved now picking pockets as they traversed the market place. With his pick and his strength Kozan turned to the mines and made a fair income from the ores he gathered from the mines though unlike many of the boys he returned to the orphanage with his money and helped the matron who managed the establishment financially as a way of thanks. On numerous occassions when Kozan would head home at night with his friends from the mines they would see young men having been beaten to a pulp, lying in gutters or darkened ally ways. Boys from the orphanage who never learnt their lesson and continued to steal from others, as they were no longer children but men nobody held back on them and beat them with their full strength. In silence the boys would help their old friends back to the orphanage of their childhood for them to be treated by the matron. The matron had become accustomed to the sight of those she considered her children returning home with their misbehaving "Brothers" and patching them up like she always had done. Kozan was contempt with his life, he worked hard in the mines from dawn till dusk and was able to live with a full stomach and a comfy bed. He was even able to see the happy faces of the orphans when he visited the orphanage from time to time to donate money to the Matron who was more or less the mother he never had and in doing so, improving the lives of those orphans. The day came though that this lifestyle would end, and it was marked by the the sound of the walls crumbling. It was mid day when the sound of destruction echoed down the mine shaft as catapult and ballistae were fired. Unable to quench their curiosities the miners walked towards the entrance of the mine. The first to the entrance was a child hood friend of Kozan and all that could be remembered of him was his black haired head falling from the mans shoulders and his body collapsing giving sight of the massive orc, canines bared in a horrific grin as he wielded his now blodied axe. The men were frozen in fear from this random encounter and so two more men were cleaved through before the miners reacted. Panicking the men ran for their lives as more orcs came into the mine shaft and spread out through the caves as the city above shook from the attacks of siege engines. Rocks began to fall from the ceiling as the tremors increased, one of which hit Kozan in the head, causing him to fall to the ground. As he turned on the floor, before him stood the orc that had killed his friend mere meters away. The orc continued to bare his canine teeth as he strolled towards Kozan, in no rush to calve the head from the human before him. Whether it was through rage for the death of his friends or sheer panick taking hold, Kozan reached for his pick and swung it at the orcs knee cap. The orc lost its balance and stumbled back but was only angered by this rebelious act. More stones fell in the shaft as the orc approach. more rumbling. more tremors. Wide eyed Kozan stared at the battle axe about to split him down the middle when by some miracle the tunnel collapsed, crushing the orc into a a pile of diconfigured fleshed with a splatter of blood. Whether it was a god or goddess whom wish for Kozans safety or even suffering, none could say, but all Kozan could do was run down the tunnel after the other miners whom had fled down the tunnel. Dirt continued to fall from the ceiling and torches fell to the floor and were snuffed as Kozan found the other miners huddled in one of their store rooms which held supplies such as extra picks. The rumbling continued as Kozan and the other miners sat up against the stone wall, hugging their legs in fear. The following days were the darkest days of Kozans life, not just because the light of the torches in the mine dimmed but because his life was gone, his friends, those of whom were his family. killed before his very eyes. The innocent boy Kozan had died at the sight of his friends as he silently curled up in the darkness, silently sobbing to himself, mourning for the lives of his friends. The other miners whom had escaped with him had all but given up upon life as they too sat in the darkness, reflecting on their lives. In the dieing torchlight Kozan looked at these men whom he had worked alongside and he realised that they too were his friends, and at the thought of these friends, meeting an end without a piece of resistance in this darkened mine shaft, the thought was cursed by Kozan as he picked up his pick. Walking to the caved in segment of the shaft Kozan swung his pick, the sound echoing with each hit to the stone, the sound a rallying cry to those who heard it. Slowly the men trapped with him followed Kozan, grabbing their picks and delivering blow after blow to the rock wall that trapped them. None knew how long they attacked that wall as time had no meaning in those dark caves, whether it was day or night the miners in the caves only knew of the darkness and the echo of their picks as they swung their picks desperately to escape their stone tomb. Minutes turned to hours as they tirelessly struck the wall before the dark was pierced by a light as they broke the wall of stone. The men were worn, using pick axes and eachother as supports as the scanned the area for any life. Corpses were everywhere, many of which were miners but a few were orcs whom had picks buried in their bodies. Anything that hadnt been nailed down had been pillaged by the orcs and so the men stumbled down the road leading away from the city of Kingston as far as they could but before long collapsing, experiencing the bliss of sleep and the knowledge that they were alive. Kozan awoke in the Sanctuary of the Cloud temple, unsure of where he was but found comfort in the fact that him opening his eyes now meant that he was alive. Annual traders of Kingston had come to trade their goods, yet all they found on the roads towards the city were a group of miners, half dead from exhaustion and so were taken to the sanctuary of the cloud temple for healing. The realisation soon dawned on Kozan though as he asked the traders for details of the city and their reply was that the miners were the only survivors they found outside the city. Tears threatened to fall from his eyes as he remembered the matron, his friends, the children of the orphanage. The city of Kingston smoldering from flames as his life from before was burned to ashes along with it. The men spent 2 days at the cloud temple being treated of their dehydration and being nursed back to health by the monks. Once each man was healthy they were given satchels with bread and fruit for their travels. Each man exchanged hugs to his companions before the group seperated for their destinations. Some travelled in pairs whilst a few, including Kozan, travelled alone for their chosen destination towards whichever nation they wished. What are they like? (personality): - Kozans is a usually quiet man whom is protective of those whom he is close to and lacks trust towards strangers. Due to spending most of his teenage years sorrounded by males he is shy to most girls. After the attack on Kingston he has a hatred towards orcs but once learning of the various tribes his burning hatred is quelled to a sheer dislike. As a result of not being able to save the children of the orphanage he is protective of children. What are their ambitions?: - Kozans ambitions in life is to live a life helping those whom he is close to as best he can. Additionally due to the way his caretakers met their end his wish is not to die a worthless death, but to die in a meaningful way. Do they have any special skills? What are their weaknesses? (Try to list a few of both): Strength: - Physically strong - Loyal to those he is close to - Knows how to mine Weakness: - Antisocial - Has trouble dealing with women - quiet Give us a description of how they look?: - Kozan stands at 6'3" and has short black hair. As he did not grow up in a snowy region his skin is slightly tanned from the spending his childhood outside and running errands. Having the blood of a northener flowing through his veins he grew up to be sturdily built and after his years of carrying ores he became physically strong. He has blue eyes and gained the habit of wearing black gloves and other clothing as his frequent work in the mines usually resulted in them being covered in coal dust and dirt which stood out less on black clothes. He still carries the leather satchel given to him by the monks and keeps it slung over his shoulder to carry his goods. Please give us a screenshot of your character’s skin: - Unable to attach the file, please message me on what method you would like me to use to show the skin.
