Inkthorn 1434 Share Posted August 11, 2014 Note: If you saw that trolly "Trial GM Application" posted from the account "Lyonharted" [not "Lyonharted!], that was... well, the rogue admin later mentioned in this post further attempting to screw with me. Got that account deleted, made this one, and needless to say, my passwords are secure, now. Only reason the guy knew it is because he was an admin on that server, and I told him it because we used it for the FTP (File Transfer Protocol, the thing where you install plugins/manage server files). Minecraft name(s): Hunter_Tha_Boss and RKOwest. Haven't applied with RKOwest, yet. Skype ID: lyonhart13 Time zone: CST. Have you ever been banned or received a strike? If so, link the report: Nada. Do you hold / have you held any other staff positions?: Here? Nope. Other than that... Event Team/Lore Team on LoA. Helped write some important posts involving lore, and ran some small events involving a bunch of random beasts. Desert lizards, griffons, ice giants, bla bla bla... Administrator and founder on Tyrenale. Another admin, Gus, and I wrote all of our lore. Ran a bunch of events, usually two ish a day, for the four ish months after release until... well, a rogue admin hapenned. What MMORPG/video games have you / do you play? (Past and Present) : Video games? MMORPGs? That's a weird question. Suppose I'll answer some of my favorites, regardless: The Fable Series - All three. Liked one the most. Three was good, though it really irked me how it jumped like fifty days at a time while you were a monarch. The Halo Series - Always loved Halo. Got a life-sized helmet for Master Chief right beside me. Pretty sure they gave it to people who pre-ordered at a certain time or something for Halo 3, don't remember. Legends of Zelda - ...'nuff said. Tropico - Decent strategy game, but it does annoy me at times how... silly the game is with itself. A joke is a joke, but when I want to play a strategy game, I don't want a joke about America and sheep every time I research something. Command & Conquer - Good game. The story was always really nicely done and, even though it was a bit cheesy at times, the live action cut scenes in more recent ones are really well done. Rimworld - Nice, modern adaptation of the colony management genre. Timber and Stone - Even nicer adaptation... but this time with voxels (blocks made of pixels that can be moved)! I encourage you check this one out, actually. Click here. Dwarf Fortress - 11/10 would bang, nuff said. Gears of War - The combat in this game always feels very tense, and like every single, minute thing you do affects the scenario deeply, and it's got a nice story to boot. What are your characters? Are you willing to sacrifice any to become a Event member?: Sylvestre, fils de Charles, Halcourt d'Vasile. Literally means, quite simply, Sylvestre, son of Charles, of House Halcourt, from Vasile. Think Joan d'Arc; Joan of Arc. I'll just go ahead and link my unfinished backstory. I'm not really satisfied with it yet and it needs a lot of fine tuning, because there are one or two chapters that are a page or two, while the others are a few paragraphs... and yeah. So, click here. If it was really necessary, I suppose so, but considering we have the persona plugin and I only have one of mine used... well? What race / group do you think your events would best cater to? If none in particular, give an example of the type of group that your events would entertain. : I'm not sure. I won't deny that, being a human, I inherently have bias and, in fact, a surplus of it, but I like to involve all kinds of groups in events. I don't mean that I would want to run events with 40,000 people; just that I'd run one here, then one there, all over the place. What do you believe are key factors for a successful event?: Intrigue, conflict, and dynamics. An event should never be a predetermined, linear story for players to hitch a ride on; it should be an open forest, with a multitude of different paths that fork in all directions, and where they are left to decide the outcome. When was the last time you saw a event?: ACanadianCraft had a friend of mine catch a little frog. It was a nice event. Little stuff like that always contributes to roleplay, and with her, it actually made that character pretty happy. 11/10 would go again. What strengths could you contribute to the Event Team? Are you knowledgeable in lore or great at organizing?: I don't want to sound like a narcissist. So, here, I'll just write what I think are my best abilities. Writing - I think it'd be cool to leave little stories or something around in the correct roleplay forum for people to see. For example, if I ran an event with the elves, leave a really nice, kind of vague summary in the elven roleplaying forum. Conflict - I think I'm decent at generating conflict within an event or story. Time - Time is one of the few things that I know, for a fact, I have too much of. I can spend a good ten hours on the server daily, unless I'm doing something in real life. Experience - I think I'm pretty versed and decently experienced at running events, and I know the dos and don'ts. Create three distinct RP scenarios/events that you would organize. These are pitches to the Managers and Kai, not to the community. Note: Not all of the group must be handled at once. Eg: 20+ people via 5 person increments in a dungeon. 1) For 1-3 person 2) For a group of 5-10 3) For a group of 20+: For 1-3 person: As the small party wanders through the woods, they notice a young, malnourished fox hiding inside of a log. In the distance, they hear howling. The party can eitherA) ignore the fox, continuing on; or B) help it and take it out of the log, probably feeding it too. However, after doing so, they would notice three wolves further in the forest that were making their way towards them... For a group of 5-10: An adunian lady wearing a purple dress wanders into either an elven or human city. Here, she sets up a tent, shouting about and speaking of how she can tell any man's fortune... in return for four mina! When paid, she preaches to the choir, telling them exactly what they want, but with a twist. To the widow, she says that she will meet the man of her dreams, wed him, but later find that he is cruel beyond belief; to the average farmer, she says that his next harvest will be plentiful... but he will be sick and unable to harvest it. Et cetera, et cetera. For a group of 20+: I don't think that I'd want to run an event this big. How long do you plan to stay in the ET?: As long as I'm needed and able. Why do you want to be ET?: To run events, because I enjoy doing so; to entertain people, because events should always contribute to roleplay; and to help LotC in the department I'm probably best at. Tell me a joke. - ...uh. A joke... probably a joke related to LotC... Can I buy Tythus a steam game in return for E.T.?
Inkthorn 1434 Author Share Posted August 11, 2014 Accidentally posted early! Sorry, give me a second to finish it. Edit: Finished it.
DagonsChosen 85 Share Posted August 11, 2014 Awesome guy. Did a great job with Tyrenale. He's mature, but still knows how to have fun (And let others have a great time). As a veteran member of the LoTC community, I assure you that he is a great addition to the event team. Big, fat, bold underlined +

ACanadianCraft (Nate) 682 Share Posted August 12, 2014 He could manage nations on other servers. I'm sure he is capable of managing events. I can't say I know much about him or his maturity. But I doubt he would abuse his position. So I suppose I support him, for what it's worth.

_Stigwig 1510 Share Posted August 15, 2014 As the Gus fore-mentioned in this post I may appear biased (as I ran a server with Hunter), but he was the driving force behind the server event wise. Every day he would come on and run almost every major event, And for that I would have to recommend this to this position as he regularly managed events of the size of almost fifteen people. So... ,+1 or whatever they say these days.

firespirit44 1323 Share Posted September 1, 2014 Interesting. But how well do you do events when you cant write? We're not here to generate lore, thats the LM's job. The ET's job is to use existing information, and make it real to the world. Your writing skills are not important, but forming a connection with existing server lore and interpreting it as your own to present it to the world is a focal point of the ET. Inkthorn 1434 Author Share Posted September 1, 2014 I think that I'm capable of doing that. What I meant was that, well, my okay writing skills could help me come up with good ideas for events, generate conflict within them, and try to spice them up or make them interesting. Wolf Druid Ouity 1461 Share Posted September 2, 2014 The Event Team Application has been updated. Please ensure that your event scenarios fit into the current lore of LOTC. This means that a random force, race, or antagonist is frowned upon.
Inkthorn 1434 Author Share Posted September 2, 2014 I've updated my application with the bit you added to the format... Unless I missed a new question lobbed into the middle, that is. Didn't see one.
