The Horizon Beckons

Avgust stood out on the docks of Tuv Aviv, a gentle sea breeze causes the smoke from his dwarven cigar to drift to his side, his dark grey eyes set on the horizon past all the docked ships and bustling folk, moving in unison as they all prepare for the migration to a new land. Thales had become far too cold for most folk, but the hardy Raevir youth payed little mind to it. He had spent the last few months away from Severski, exploring Thales and trying to find a purpose in his life. Blacksmithing was different in Thales then it had been back in the Fringe, he felt the tug of the Skygod's hand, guiding him along a set path, leading down to the same thing over and over again. He no longer felt the rush of the river of creativity as he put his soul into a sword. Nor did he feel the urge to work on metal at all, it was as if all the joy he gained from it had been lost in the Thales, where it be by the design of the Skygods or Godani himself.

He took a drag from the cigar and blew out smoke that matched his eyes, a small bit of ash fell from the cigar as he shifted slightly his gaze dropping down to look at his reflection in the water. Tall and sturdy, like a wall. Dark grey eyes that pierced a lesser man's defenses with ease, the trademark of one with Steelwall blood. A mess of dark brown hair, long strands that reached down to his neck and covered an eye, stubble covered his sharp chin in a thick coat adapted to winter. Avgust took the cigar from his mouth and sighed, was it him? Did he no longer hold the passion his father did for blacksmithing? No. Something was different here in the Thales but it no longer mattered. Passion was something all Steelwalls possessed, it was in their nature. He lets the cigar drop from his hands and crushes it under his boot, his gaze turning once more to the blue horizon. Whatever lay ahead of the Thales was where he would find his passion, his birthright, his destiny.
