Fishing?

I am a veteran fisher with 93k XP.

 

 

That says that I may find treasure but I think we using different dictionaries. To me treasure is something useful and in enough of an amount to make fishing self sufficient in that I can sell my fish for better stuff. So far though the best thing I have gotten was 4 glowstone blocks from a casket once. Could the "treasure" please be buffed? When I asked about fishing some people mentioned that you could get skill tomes, armor, weapons and such. Is that still there?

Also, could pufferfish and clownfish please be given recipes? I have since learned that there are no cooked items in vanilla but perhaps use either salmon or cooked fish as the base item?

Also previously in Thales I was able to obtain Iron Armor that had no debuffs and an Enchanted Bow with Unbreaking I. Now I aquire Emeralds and Gold nuggets, but I think they re-vamped the treasure drops and the like. I'd like to have an update and such as well.

I am veteran as mentioned above. You can fish up chests renamed caskets which when you place them give you items which are small things like some gold ingots. The amount of fishing rods I go through to get those is not worth it however. I do get enchanted bows (Unbreaking 1) but I have gotten 5 of them total.

I'd like to see some odd items. Jukeboxes, noteblocks, miscellaneous named items like a watch. Fun things that don't really advance you, but rather are just fun to RP with.

Fishing is self sufficient. You get fish, you sell fish. In real life a fishing boat doesn't go out and say "Oh I hope we fish some diamond rings today. Just getting fish is stupid". Ok, you get glowstone blocks. Big deal. But armour and weapons is a joke. Even if it was slightly rare. You can't expect to fish armour. Thats what the other professions are for.

 

Anyway if your not getting the results you want, try fishing in another Biome. You get different things.

I was just thinking that there would be more progression as you gain levels. As far as I can tell right now the only difference between fishing now and fishing at promising is the 3 caskets I have gotten. Everything else stays the same. I am hoping that more treasure is added as a progression
