Hopefully a fun FRP about superheroes.

 

 

Setting

 

The year is 2015. Scientists have recently discovered a new class of radiation known as Sigma Radiation, capable of producing self sustaining energy. Since then it has been mass produced in all sorts of machines, appliances, devices, and factories all around the world. However, unbeknownst to the world of science, Sigma Radiation is also very volatile and can easily alter the genetic makeup of beings it comes in contact with.

 

Over the course of the next few months, the radiation spread like wildfire, killing some and horribly mutating others. However, some people had a genetic code which not only made them immune from the horrid effects of Sigma Radiation, but was enhanced by it, giving them extraordinary powers!

 

We call these beings superheroes...

 

And they have come to protect and serve the human race.

 

 

OOC Rules/Information

 

So superheroes are my favorite thing in the whole entire world. Thought it would be fun to make a Forum RP for those who were interested. Some of us would play superheroes, a small few of us would play supervillains and other such enemies. You can create your own character with a backstory, powers, etc. Just follow these rules:

 

1. Only one character per person, one or two exceptions may be made for villainous groups.

2. Please apply as an original hero, I will only be accepting a small amount of villains at the ratio of 1:3.

3. You must take this seriously.

4. If your character is too overpowered or too similar to a pre-existing hero or villain, you will have to think of a new one.

5. You cannot be a god or spirit, only a human, you can only get powers from the Sigma Radiation.

6. When creating your character, think more DC Comics and less Anime. In fact, no anime.

Appearance: Short blond hair, 5'9", 150 lbs, brown eyes, slim build. Wears a full-body gray polymer suit to control his powers. Gives off glowing ultraviolet light when not wearing the suit. Can use his powers to alter his appearance.
 
Powers: Can absorb different colored light from his surroundings and emit it from his body. Because of this he can project realistic images of light including doppelgangers, alter the light his body gives off to change his appearance or blend into his surroundings, fire concentrated beams of light that can burn and blind, and illuminate dark spaces. 
 
Backstory: Roy Green was a regular college student living in suburban Philadelphia. He was a very normal kid, and worked in a copy machine store to make extra money for spending and school dues. One day while at work, one of the color copiers malfunctioned and caused an explosion with Roy in the immediate vicinity. The machine was powered by Sigma Radiation and, in the course of the explosion, fused Roy's own genes with the unadulterated colored light of the copying machine. When he came too, Roy discovered his newfound abilities and decided to use them in the fight for good under the persona of the superhero, Spectrum.

Appearance: [Description, pictures, or both] The man is lanky and stands 6'1" he has black hair and scruffy 5'oclock shadow.

 

Powers: [Keep it reasonable] This man had the ability to refill anything with his mind. (You can only fill the chosen thing with things previously in the contained area. )

 

Backstory: [short or long, your choice, explain powers and important life events] James lived an everage life next to a dorito factory. He grew up there his entire life,  but he was poor. Sometimes he would find doritos that fell off of the truck and eat the bag. One day he was eating Doritos and some of the Sigma radiation seeped into the bag, which is why he found it, they actually threw it away. He was consumed by this radiation, and without knowing he wished he had more of the doritos and they refilled. He now goes around handing homeless people different empty items and refilling them.

Shingen is 5’7 male with a reasonably athletic build despite his age. Now with his powers his endurance is increased to obvious super human levels, age no longer being an issue for him due to his abilities. He is a man of Japanese ethnicity and looks to be in his early to mid fourties with parts of his hair beginning to grey.

 

Powers: [Keep it reasonable] Enhanced strength, speed, endurance and the heightened ability to use his brain resulting in enhanced reflexes, good tactical and strategic mind.

Outside of his powers he is an experienced marksmen, hand to hand fighter and swordsmen learnt in various forms of hand to hand and swordplay styles from varied cultures.

Shingen grew up in Yamaguchi Prefecture in Japan, this was during a time where the Yamaguchi-Gumi the largest Yakuza clan of Japan was rising not only in the underworld but in legitimate business. During his teen years he got a job as “Younger Brother” in the Yamaguchi-Gumi essentially running errands for the higher ranks. However the local boss of the clan took a liking to him, having him taught in traditional forms of combat, both Japanese and others, along with teaching him the art of espionage with a high focus on stealth. Eventually becoming an enforcer of the Yamaguchi-Gumi, his skills were highly valued, often being sent overseas to Hong Kong, New York and Moscow to eliminate problems in the Triads, Italian American Crime Families and various gangs in the Russian Mafia.

He was exposed to Sigma Radiation infiltrating the offices of a rival Yakuza clan, while infiltrating a server room explosives were detonated exposing him to Sigma Radiation, he had discovered that he had been set up by a Lieutenant in the Yamaguchi-Gumi to prepare for a civil war in the gang, by taking out the bosses prized enforcer he would have been close to achieving victory. However before anyone could mobilize Shingen struck out against the man who attempted to take his life with his new abilities ending the war before it could begin. He chose to leave the Yakuza, cutting off one of his fingers as per the tradition and rules of the Organization. Now Shingen uses his skills for hire as a mercenary, spy or assassin ready to be hired by anyone.
