Eulogy, For A Brother

Valandil strides down the stone road, alone, as Tobias was. After a moment of wandering 'round, he smells death in the air and, seeing a huddled figure by the side, steals upon it, gazing over the face and recognizing it as his cult-brother Tobias.

"Tobias, brother...you are with Iblees now..."

After a moment of quiet contemplation by Toby's body, he lifts it up and solemnly carries it over to Kal'Agnar. As he walks in, the cultists about howl in respect of their fallen brother. Valandil proceeds with the body into the inner city and, upon reaching an empty tomb, sets the body in an empty stone coffin and marks it for cremation. As he leaves, he notices the masses of cultists weeping for their beloved brother, consoling one another. He gets up onto the fountain and begins to speak.

"Brothers, today we have lost one of our own, and his soul flies to the true Lord, Iblees. He was special to me - he ws one of the first cultists I inducted to our congregation, and he brought many cultists himself to be inducted, who have brought more in turn. To the very end, he maintained his loyalty to our Dark Lord, and did not allow himself to become as the mortal races, and fall to worshiping the heathen Four Brothers or turning to the fallacious beliefs of the "gods" of the humans and dwarves. I do not know what force drove him to desire these foreign gods, but I do know that such forces are now, more than ever, our dire enemies."

He unsheathes his blade and raises it high, motioning his brothers to do the same, before continuing his speech.

"My brothers, you see this dwarven capital around you? We took this place, a nation capital, by blood and steel! Nothing is impossible through Iblees, so by Iblees and with Iblees and through Iblees, we shall find this foul force which intends to destroy us, and show it the power of true followers of Iblees, and make it tremble at our might! We will avenge Tobias' death, brothers, and show that he was right in keeping his faith for the true God, Iblees!"

The hordes howl and raise their weapons in response, going back to their new dwarf-built homes and preparing arms and armor for the battles to come; each, as they work, meditate on Tobias' death and the sacrifice made to maintain integrity to the Dark Lord.

*The Watcher sees the display and lets out a low chuckle turning around and walking into the keep, his footsteps leave faded red stains upon the road.

The silhouette of a rugged Northerner would be spotted watching the congregation; gaze lifeless and cold, playing host to a being of much fouler nature. Azaesil, known to his followers as the Zealot, flees the scene after the gathered servitors of Iblees depart for their homes.

Merylynn would be on one of her aimless wanderings that her faulty memory causes her to often take part in, and hears this. It interests her, and she frowns.

"Iblees wishes nothing but to consume this world...If you let him consume it, you too shall be swallowed whole..." She walks off afterwards, forgetting she was ever even there.

Kal giggles and rolls around laughing at this clear incompetent follower of Iblees. We do not show grief or love, only contempt for the enemies of Iblees.

Except for your best friend named Skag.

The elf giggles as he displaces himself from the crowd, his black robes which are early two sizes to large for him drag behind him as if he wore a cape. Or was Aerxuis a she? Whatever the case as Aerx walked away from the crowd he pulled out a large-tattered book that had more than enough pages to make a Dictionary, Atlas, Thesaurus and Bestiary all in one. He carefully flipped the pages of the seemingly ancient book as if avoiding all damage possible.

He would slowly run his finger down the page while his eyes quickly darted across the paper, his mouth inaudibly mumbling names underneath his breath.

"Tobias."

He says finally as he outstretches a lone finger to move across the name at-least twice, double-checking to make sure the name lined up with the information posted next to his name. He then effortlessly out the name using a quill dipped in blood.

"And one-by-one they fall."

Scylla is almost certain he's a he, and not a she, since she's pregnant with his child. If he was in fact a she, she would be very, very confused indeed.
