Smelting Items.

I have a pretty simple question that I'd like a Global Moderator or Admin to answer please. 

 

What items can be smelted back to ore now-a-days? Previously it was anything with the ore in it, and you'd receive 40% of what it was worth. Then iron gates were removed from the list due to a bug (which was fixed a couple maps back). So, can I presume that all items with the ore in can be smelted down? Add onto that, is it still only a 40% return rate?

I didn't even know that you could re-smelt items, when did that got removed?
