An Old Man Lets Go

In a small hut, in a small forest, an old man lays on a bed. His name is Amuel Sano. Next to him, sitting in a chair by the bed, is his young nephew, Satomi Sano. Amuel is very, very, very old, to the point where it seems nearly impossible for a mere human to have lived so long, and his body shows the signs. His face is so wrinkled, it's impossible to tell what he may have looked like when he was younger. "Boy..." The old man whispers. Satomi looks up suddenly "What is it, unc- sir?"

"I'm dying, boy. My only regret is that I have nobody better to uphold the family name."

Satomi is sad, but not angry. He knows what his uncle has been through, and he knows how he is. "I'm sorry father." is his only response. "As you should be, you-" Amuel starts a fit of coughing, and lifts his arm up weakly to cough into. Satomi gently restrains Amuel's hands. "Don't try. You're too weak." Amuel glares "Call me weak boy? If I were a bit younger I'd kick your ass so hard you'd end up in Asulon!" 

There is a silence as the two men glare at each other, before Satomi finally says "Was there a reason you called me?" Amuel snorts contemptuously, but his eyes soften, and so does his voice. "I was wondering when you'd ask. I called you because I'm dying. You already know that, but there is a matter of my possesions. My armor you may use. It'll fit you fine, don't worry. My Katana, however, is another matter. You can wield my Katana when you're worthy. I trust that you'll know when that is. Is that understood, boy?" Satomi stares in shock, his mouth wide open in suprise. Realizing that Amuel was asking him something, he stammers out a reply "Y-yes Amu- uh, Unc- uh, sir." Amuel's face breaks into a smile, something that has not happened in years, and closes his eyes. "Tell Kais that I will always be loyal to him, even in death." With a smile on his face, he falls asleep for the last time in his life.

Amuel was the second character I ever made. He's like, 600 or something now lol. In all seriousness, I loved this character, and I teared up writing this post. I should've let go a long time ago, but I didn't, so oh well. I can't remember nearly enough people I should thank, but some that stand out are Yopplwasupxxx, Kais (forgot his username), warlord212, and ctc9592. Peace out.

Raigeki would cry, but Voron kicked the bucket right before Amuel. In his heart, he blames Kais for Amuel's demise.

Kais sits in an open field, being a homeless man he has nowhere that he calls home, sits and ponders on the moments of his life that have brought him to this point, the establishment of Yamamoto, the fall of Yamamoto, the founding of the Dominion of Yamatai and of when he ordered the Eastern Invasion. Thunder is heard and the skies open around him with rain pouring down onto the field. The Old Easterners sighs pushing himself up from the ground, he walks towards the road so he may continue his travels as a wondering Ronin. 

 

As he walks on the roads of Athera he is stopped by a man, Kais cautiously moves his hand to the pommel of his Katana as he is familier with brigands, the man gives him a western courtly bow "Mi'lord message for you." he offers a rolled up scroll, taking it Kais then looks at him looking a little aggravated

 

 

 The man knowing his presence is no longer wanted quickly walks off, Kais unrolls the scroll and begins to read it

 

"Daimyo Ishikawa"

 

"I regret to inform you that your loyal servant Amuel Sano has passed on from this world, he is survived by his relative Satomi Sano. His last wishes were to inform you, that even in death he is forever loyal to you. That is all I'm afraid, we hope that he is able to find peace with this information given to you."

 

"Sincerely a friend."

 

As he finishes reading the scroll, it drops from his hand as he stands in the rain thinking about his old servant and friend, he starts moving again to search for the last Sano so he may give his condolences
