Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): A young man limped his way to a nearby tree, moaning with each step. Waves of heat blew against his back, making his move faster than he should have as he held his leg in agony. He finally turned, slumping down at the foot of its trunk, staring at what was left of his families homestead turn to ash.

The Bracchus family had come from a hamlet near what was now Karovia. Though they were not very notable, other than one of their ancestors being rumored to have some sort of connection to a treacherous minor dwarven noble, they had prospered quietly, some becoming Artisans. This idea of a quiet life was shattered by Idas Bracchus, Publius' father.

Idas was a peasant farmer, with an ambition that could not be checked. Though uneducated and with no wealth of his own, he abandoned his life of hard work and little pay to join Arlas in solving the regions problems with bandity. Though very inexperienced, his height and heavy set made him something else. Taking out loans to purchase a sword and some passable gear, he and a few others were payed as mercenaries. Though he never attained a real position of power, he made a habit of taking what he could, sometimes leaving behind rations and equipment in hopes of being able to carry more from their raids and seizures. Though many items may have already been reported stolen and were to be returned to their rightful owners, Idas simply chose not to declare them, or a majority of his wealth, for that matter. Though he had been doing this, little mind was paid to him and his compatriots.

Years went on, and Idas amassed a small hoard of money. War finally did come to the city, and Idas was quick to drop out of service. He tried several times to secure minor offices, but whenever he started to make enough noise, charges were brought up against him, many suggesting that he may be corrupt. Though he wasn't, he certainly shied away from any negative attention, especially considering his wealth was still largely undeclared in hoping that it would not be repossessed. Following many battles, Idas moved out the the frontier, purchasing large tracks of cheap, hostile land, spending everything he had on establishing a decent home and workforce. Though he had put lot's into it's construction, it generated little money after covering expenses for private guards, the number of workers who toiled on the land, and the construction of the housing, fencing, and the rest.

Though Idas had largely put himself out of any potential position to be made into a true noble, with a title to boot, he fashioned himself as one, often inviting people out from the city to enjoy horseback rides through the largely undeveloped countryside his home jutted out of. During on of these trips, he courted a man's fiance, who he happened to impregnate. This scandal bore his first child: Publius.

Of course, the scandal ruined Publius' mother's relationship with her previous partner, and soon found herself too out on the frontier with Idas. They went on to have several children, many sharing Idas' physical features, but kept well off and happy in a sea of gifts, lessons, and relative comfort of a faux noble child. Publius, much like his rowdy father when he was younger, was calmed and humbled overtime as Idas poured as much money as there could be on his tutoring and studies, hoping to give him what he figured barred him from becoming a noble: An education, and an easy upbringing.

Years went by, and Idas' choice of location turned out to being a good one, as they were too far off to be dragged into conflict, yet not to far to be easily abandoned by society. Guards often stayed at the home, and took a liking to the family. Publius, who was originally driven to become a glorious warrior, was convinced by his father that he would not achieve the success he craved from fighting battles, but in amongst the nobles in the great cities.

On his 20th birthday, Publius was put in charge of the coming and going of his father's land, both to train him, and because he understood far better than his father how to manage it. Rather than expanding though, Publius chose to keep what he earned, hoping to go to the newly established Karovia with whatever he could earn, and leave the farm to his family.

Publius soon saw opportunities to out compete other regional farmers following an increase in attacks on caravan's between them and Karovia. The conflict with Invictus had thrown everyone off, and despite the increase in levies, the border Publius' family was on didn't warrant much worry. Unwilling to accept either the losses from hiring mercenaries, or a failure to defend his caravan, he turned to the church.

The family was not very devout, though, when asked, would identify with The Church of Canon. Idas had never been an great role model, and in faith, it was especially true, but Publius' education included much on famous figures St. Lucien. Though he had many doubts, he was quiet about them, and used his knowledge about the church to approach missionaries more comfortably.

In these turbulent times, only those with influence were ensured the security of patrols. The church of course, was able to move around missionaries quite comfortably, as the prospect of them being killed or ransomed off was certainly unpopular with many. He invited these men and women to dinner often, showing the greatest hospitality possible, often being revered as a wonderful host an man. He was flattered of course, and did more than he had to, it wasn't simply done out of the kindness of his heart: he wanted to be able to propose "Protecting" the missionaries alongside the guards. The idea was well recieved, and believed the size of the group would deter any potential bandits, and they also took well to the idea of transport. The guards seen it more realistically, but they held their peace.

The arrangement worked perfectly, and with the constant movement of the missionaries, he could have caravan's out almost always. He no longer depended on Karovia, and prosperity was a word Publius began to hum happily to his new guests. The success began to also eat away at his doubt in the church, as optimistic Acolytes and Deacons often involved him in debates and stories, and though his input came in on the back of uncertainty, they accepted it wholeheartedly.

His prosperity did not go unnoticed though.

Made desperate by Publius' now farther reaching and diverse routes, the local lords found themselves in contact with the men that had once been stealing their goods. A combined effort by these lords raised a great deal of funds, that ended up in the pockets of "Mercenaries", who were to have a chat with the Bracchus family. One that would just so happen to go very wrong.

On a beautiful night, Publius was riding his horse out of the woods when he noticed the guest house was burning in the distance. Figuring there had been an accident, he raced over as quickly as he could, until he could make out a group of men dragging women off.

He was stunned.

The men saw him and pointed him out, but he was quick to get back to the home, seeing that it had not been aflame, and seemingly peaceful. He rode up, hopping off his horse and tried opening the door, finding it locked. He banged on it, cursing and yelling, until finally a farmhand opened it and pulled him in, closing it and locking it up tight. He found himself surrounded by workers and private guards, but his family had already fled.

Torches were flung into the windows, and the newly armed workers chose to attack the raiders. Though they outnumbered them, they were hardly a match. Publius struck hard at the men, but was shot in the leg by one of the men on horseback. After about 5 minutes of fighting, the last of the raiders had been killed or fled. Only a handful of people had been left standing. A few farmhands helped Publius, fetching his horse and he went to rest, but most chose to grab what they could and go. As he stared at his burning home, his heart was heavy. He did not doubt his family was probably being pursued, but no one had known where they had gone, only that they had fled at the sight of the raiders. Soon, everyone left from the homestead found abandoned horses and made their way to Publius, seeking answers, or at least, someone to lead them to safety.

Publius hopped on his horse, making his was to Karovia. Hoping to find his family there, he and the rest went as quickly as they could. His poorly patched leg would just have to handle the trip. He moaned his whole way there, not from the pain, but after realizing that any papers that proved he owned the land, or the caravans, were either burned, missing with his family, or stolen. His mood was grim as he seen the city in the distance.

Your application has been put on pending, please make the requested changes within 24 hours to be accepted. Please private message me once you have done so.

  • Your application font and formatting are hard to read, please change it.
  • Your biography seems to speak more of your parents rather than your character. It's also cliche to have been raided by no reason. It also lacks server lore; the wiki http://wiki.lordofthecraft.net/ contains all the information you need.
  • Please expand upon your weaknesses.
  • This guide shows you how to obtain your skin screenshot.

Feel free to private message me with any questions or concerns you have regarding your application or the server.

It's still cliche regarding the raiders, but otherwise your app is decent. Please wait for a Global Moderator to whitelist you.
