Urguan 0 Share Posted January 28, 2015 Dwarves of the Blacklocks The name Blacklocks is derived from when the traveling dwarves that Grimli accompanied would always lock their chests, doors and strongboxes with large, cast ferrum locks. This was to ensure that no foreigner would take their treasure hordes in the night, as they had no vault to keep them. The Blacklock dwarves are not so much as a blood related clan as most of them have been traveling companions most of their lives and developed the clan to keep their dwarven traditions strong in foreign cities. They keep this tradition by commonly introducing members that are not of their original bloodline, which as faded from memory as no one knows their true lineage anymore. It is not uncommon to see a group of Blacklocks with different coloured hair. The original dwarves of the Blacklocks were mostly craftsdwarves; cutting gems, smithing jewelry and the occasional smithing of weapons and armours. This is not to say the Blacklocks can't fight, just the original members had no need to since the cities they stayed in had this protection for them. [Due to this being a brand new clan, I have not added much information to the lore and or characteristics of the clan. Once more members join, the clan should begin to form itself though the IG actions of the dwarves within it.] Now the Blacklock Clan looks for a home. Do ye have the stomach to become a Blacklock? Come take a seat 'n tell me 'bout yerself." After talking for awhile Grimli turns to Kron. "Ah fink ye are jus' w'at dis clan needs to git off th' ground! Ah welcome ye tew clan Blacklock.
