The night swept over Leyulin like a arrow sweeps from a bow. As the elves settle into their night time routines. The bustle of the tavern covered the noises of the trees, a loud rustling of many barefeet. Pale figures leapt over the walls, bone carved bows on their backs and stone swords in hand. Many of the raiders held torches in their long, bony claws. The Ivory Order silenced the din in the tavern, forming a shield wall at the center tree in front of Phaedrus's smithy. The feral elves smashed themselves upon the shield wall. But nearly a hundred had swarmed over the walls by now, breaking the small shield wall. Ivory Order Elves rushed out from their homes, joining their brothers on the field of combat. Many fell to the stone blades and arrows, while others succumbed to the thrown torches of the mali'krafehs, or corpse elves for their appearance. As civilians came out of the tavern with their own bows drawn, the combined forces of cleric, wood elves, and high elven business men pushed off the pale horde.

As the pale horde fled back over the stone walls into the recesses of the dark forest, two of the tribals fell to arrows from the wood elves. One of them, so shocked in fear and so foreign to their culture, spoke purely in the common language among the ferals. The other however processed a few words. Upon being questioned at axe point why they had attacked. No answer came from the warrior.

The Ivory Guardsmen slid his blade deep into the beast's chest.

As blood spurt he uttered,

"Our Forest."

Deep within the forests of Fiandria war-drums sounded from the depths of the ruined caves.

Big thanks to those who participated in my first big event! While this was quite spontaneous I hope to pursue feral elf events centered around Fiandria and the wood elves! Message me if you wish to hunt or interact with the tribals.

Kaelin returned from Fiandria, drained and more troubled than he was the night before.

He had hoped that by showing the bodies of their dead respect and returning them the folk of Leyulin might earn at least the chance of dialogue - the prelude to understanding and peace. He had lain the bodies down before the forest with Glacio Nereus and his companion and performed for them the same reverence that marked the passing of a hunter of his family in centuries long passed. Commendations to the aspects were whispered and flowers laid upon their person. He had stopped short of burying them, leaving that for their real kin. He left them in peace and sat atop a small tree beneath Fiandria's mighty boughs - keeping vigil, to ward away the scavengers of the forest and to parley with the feral elves.

After an hour of feeling eyes upon him, the Ferals made themselves known. One individual, a male of slender build and pale skin descended from the upper branches. His ears were longer than the haughtiest of High Elves and upon his head was a crown of bone.

Words were spoken between the Dark Elf and the Feral. Kaelin expressed the folk of Leyulin's desire for peace and co-existence; the lord of the Ferals expressed the outrage of his. "Our Forest," spoke the savage elf, "Short Ears bring stone. Stone kills it." In pushing their walls south in expansion, the elves of Leyulin had angered the hidden folk of the great forest. Platitudes would not convince them of Wood Elf sincerity. In the end, Kaelin spoke plainly of the two futures that would could come to pass from this point on:

Peace and the chance of co-existence or war and the full force of Leyulin brought to bear against the Feral Elves.

To this, the lord of the Ferals had his mind made up - "We bring Fire and Sword."

Both elves allowed each other to go in peace, Kaelin out of the hope for dialogue in future and the Feral perhaps out of respect for the returning of his slain kin. Kaelin did not doubt, however, that the next time a Feral Elf and an Elf of Leyulin meet it would end in blood.
