A Note To Halflings

Recommended Posts

Deputy Bodo Hollowmead travels far and wide, to every nook and cranny within a few lazy miles of Gimblewood, nailings notes to trees, boards, walls, doors, and nearly everything a note can be posted to like his life depends on it (he's actually quite lazy about it, really, as he naps and smokes hour or so). After several days, his work is done. The note reads:

Ladies and gentlehobbits!

The rolling hills of the Dale call you back to your rightful home, to Gimblewood. It is not fit that our kind should live in the cities of this earth, our little people (with big hearts, and of course even bigger feet!) are meant to tend the hills, to smoke, to fish, to grow all manner of crops, and to be at peace. All of this can only be found in Gimblewood.

Please, wanderers, stragglers, roamers, and bunglers, find your way back to your home. A comfortable, safe life can and will be ready for you once you arrive. Burrows are available, and should they run out, do not fear for more will be built! Jobs are available in town, drinks are plenty, and of course friendships and long lasting memories are ever-so-abundant, should you return home.

We, the peaceful inhabitants of Gimblewood, are excited to welcome you to town with open arms! Be ready for many drinks of tea, ale, bites of cake, many laughs, some tears, many smokes, hours of fishing, and  most of all, what we offer best: never-ending joy. Come home.

Signed: The Little Folk of the Dale
