Mali’thill,

With the abrupt leave of our Medi’ir Calendir Maehr’onn, the time has come to elect the third vertex that completes the triangle of the triumvirate. This will be a public voting.

Here are the requirements the new Medi’ir is expected to meet:

1.) Maintenance.  The library and all responsibilities of its upkeep are the imperatives of the Medi’iran.

2.) Infrastructure.  Assisting in the appointment of Okariran to position and supervising the duties of these Okariran is also the responsibility of a Medi’ir.

3.) Counsel.  It is the job of the Medi’ir to provide counsel to the Sohaer in order to better inform decision making.  Therefore, Medi’ir must be well informed of all matters involving the City, both in domestic and foreign matters.

4.) Aiding and abetting.  The Medi’ir must provide aid to the Sohaer in all ways possible to help him/her perform his/her duty.

5.) Economy.  Management of trade and designation of trading partners of the state are responsibility of the Medi’iran.

6.) Service.  The Medi’iran must be at the service of the city, with no task for the betterment of all below himself/herself.  The Medi’iran shall perform any task for the advancement and health of the Mali’aheral that they serve.

7.) Example.  More than anything, the Medi’iran shall represent the best aspects of all Mali’aheral and serve as a role-models for all. With exceptional purity, and exceptional citizenship, the Medi’iran must demonstrate for each citizen the pinnacle of Mali’aheral expectation for behaviour.

One must put forth a speech to nominate themselves for Medi’ir. This may be done in the square. There will be two Elven days for nominations before the voting begins. Our Maheral is expected to count the vote. That’s all.

Later that day, Damasus Visaj would stand in the middle of the Haelun'or square and begin to speak  to the bustling crowd that would stop to hear him.

"Children of Larihei, the time has come to obliterate all impurity and stagnancy from our city, our home. We will start with the position of Medi'ir. I am putting myself forth as a candidate for Medi'ir as I meet basic requirements that the previous holder did not meet, and exceed all expectations for this position. Unlike our previous holder, I do not have golden eyes and I am quite active within elcihi. His flagrant impurity and position upon the council was simply unacceptable as he has surely realized. The uselessness of this individual is no more, however, and I urge you to place me in the position that Calendir has left to rot.

You all know that in this time of utter negligence, I have been constantly trying to revitalize elcihi in many different ways. I /already/ do most of the Medi'iran duties anyway. My planning and execution of the Masquerade Gala would fall under service and aiding and abetting since our Sohaer did not have the time to put it together himself. My recent trade talks with Dak'ir Des'Nox on quartz would fall under economy. My constant activity  in the city and wish to further the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya would fall under example. Need I go on? Simply put, I am here to serve all mali'thill in the best way possible and by the highest standards possible. Standards which shall be raised constantly to fulfill progress.Standards which shall meet and go beyond our traditional mali'aheral philosophies to always fulfill health. After all, high standards lead to absolute purity.

That's all."

Damasus would walk away.

Iat folds his arms "Oh yes, yes. Of course I shall count. More tedious than knitting!" he snickers.
