CODEX ARCANA

 

‘Magic’ is defined as any spell able to be cast through study or faith, or any power not naturally occurring in a mundane individual.

 

‘Mage’ is the term used to describe any practitioner of magics, be they Arcane, Druidic, Clerical or otherwise in nature.

 

1-1: Singularity

 

All Magi who operates within the domains of the Kingdom of Oren and her protectorates; Haelun’or, Ker’nor and Cerulin are henceforth required by law to enter into the Conclave of Magi. Those who operate outside of the Conclave are deemed rogue and a threat to the security of the realm at large.

 

1-2: Sanctuary

 

All Magi who are deemed fit to practice their arts within the domains of the Kingdom of Oren and her protectorates; Haelun’or, Ker’nor and Cerulin, being members of the Conclave, are given the right to practice the arts of the Arcane without fear of persecution and with the guaranteed protection of the Crown, so long as they make no strides towards lawlessness and degeneracy.

 

1-3: Maleficarum

 

All Magi whom have shirked their duties and fled the Conclave, practice foul magic such as necromancy, or otherwise have failed to adhere to the Law of Registration are deemed unfit to bear the Creator’s gift of life. Labeled maleficarum, they are fugitives of the realm and are to be hunted until the end of their days, given no succor by any man on pain of death.

 

Magic which are classified as vile and unwanted within Oren follow;

 

Necromancy.

 

Soul Puppetry.

 

Shade Magic.

 

Contract Magic.

 

All other dark practices.

 

1-4: Dominion

 

Henceforth, the Conclave of Magi has jurisdiction over all matters of a magical nature within the Kingdom of Oren and her protectorates; Haelun’or, Ker’nor and Cerulin.  The Conclave is obligated to investigate any disturbances related to the Arcane, to secure and safeguard artefacts of magical origins through any means, and to ensure the safety of the realm’s citizens from the likes of maleficarum and their creations.
