What is roleplaying?: Playing the role of another character and staying in that role being completely apart from yourself.

What is metagaming?: Using OOC knowledge that was not obtained IC.

What is powergaming?: Having your character do things that give them an advantage over situations even if it is out of character. Playing with only a goal to win and little to no regard for roleplaying as a character with flaws.

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): 

Tessa was a bastard child cared for by her teenage single mother in Asulon. Her mother's family kept Tessa a secret to keep from shaming their family name however when a series natural disasters struck their area, Tessa's mother was forced to flee with her family. They went from refugee camp to refugee camp as their resources and food got very scarce, Tessa's mother made the decision to sell Tessa to a poor old farmer that was selling crops by the refugee camp. At this time Tessa was only 8 years old.

 

Needing assistance on his farm as he was old and in poor health, the farmer made Tessa work long hours on the farm in return for shelter, food, nice clothes and education. He was not a loving fellow and often treated her like a servant than a daughter. When she was 16 the farmer passed away and Tessa had no one except the animals on the farm. The Farmer's children eventually showed up to the farm and demanded to take it over as the rightful owners, though she had never met them. They chased her away into the woods and took all of the valuables from the farm and burned it to the ground. Tessa stood in the woods and watched this through the trees before eventually walking away sobbing looking for a new life. She overheard others speaking of a land called Athera but as she got closer the her destination she heard that it had been taken over by giant worms. Alone and afraid she hesitantly asks refugees where they are headed and most of them mention the Isles of Vailor. She is told by a strange woman to seek out the lands which are ruled by Olivier de Savoie. After a long journey and lots of pure luck, she arrives exhausted and afraid as has never been on her own before and she has never even had a friend that hasn't been an animal.
