Submission to High Pontiff Daniel II, 1519

We, the Crown of the true and legitimate Oren, do greet thee with great humility as We welcome thee to the Chair of Saint Lucien, and hope that your rule as High Pontiff will be just and prosperous, making not the mistakes of your distant predecessors, Pius II and Paul III, instead emulating the goodly and benevolent nature of St. Lucien I, who We all see as a figure of inspiration.

We, the Crown, hereby make several such humble yet official requests of the Holy Person, in the hopes that He will do Us the service of our accommodation as a gesture of goodwill and respect towards Our Crown.

We, the Crown, hereby request the creation of the Diocese of Metz, consisting of the hamlet of Maecht, the fortress of Dour Watch and the town of Metz, which shall serve as an estate in temporal fief to the Baron of Dour Watch, Titus de Sola. A map of said diocese is provided as follows:

We, the Crown, hereby request that Our present servant Father Renuald of Metz, a priest ordained by the Bishop of Felsen, Humbert de Bar, be elevated to the Diocese of Metz post-haste.

We, the Crown, also request that Our present servant Father Renuald of Metz be elevated to the Pentarchy post-haste, as a devout servant of Our Creator with unparalleled and supple theological knowledge among the Clergy. While We implore thee, Holy Father, to take up Our request with all the quickness and decision that is required of a servant of God, We say this with as much humility as We possess in such inauspicious circumstances:

We shall judge a failure to meet these requests severely and respond this in Our communication with the Holy Person through curt yet resonant words.

With our deepest and most sincere regards,

The Crown of Oren,

His Majesty, King Olivier the First of His Name,

His Excellency, Guy de Bar, Royal Chancellor of Oren

"I'm crying everyone's tears," offers Renuald of Metz to an aide, his expression impassioned as he reads the Crown's submission to His Holiness, wringing his hands together as he does so.

To the Crown of Oren,

We thank you for your benevolent words of kindness and encouragement, and assure you that we intend to make no such mistakes. Furthermore, we, too, wish you luck in the war you now engage in, and pray that the Creator brings the conflict to a swift end.

The Diocese of Metz shall be created, as is your wish, and this provision will be written in the next Golden Bull.

Father Renauld of Metz shall likewise be made head of this diocese, and this provision will be written in the next Golden Bull.

Father Renauld of Metz will be made a Pentarch of the Ecclesiastical synod, and this provision will be written in the next Golden Bull.

However. In return for our graciousness in bestowing a bishopric upon a newly ordained priest, who was but an acolyte a few months ago, we humbly ask for the Crown to gift the Holy Church a tithe of land wherein a pontifical estate can be established. We hope that the Crown will consider this an exchange of favors, and not demands returned with demands.

With the greatest of regards,

His Holiness Daniel II.
