10th of the Amber Cold, 1520.

It was a cold and sunny day in the Duchy of Savoie. The usual business was occurring in Markus' barony of Maecht. A handful of soldiers walked around, and some laborers thronged in the smithy, in the fields, and out at sea, fishing amongst the sea. It was then that the young and fledgling Lord made the decision to take a walk to the Capital of Felsen. Thorburn Grimbeorn, the Courtier and loyal friend of Markus accompanying him.

The young Lord came upon a group, the same group of young teens who he had seen in Felsen before in a melee with a Orc. The details grimy and shadowy, Markus declared "The Crusader's legacy." before slashing at the Orc with his dirk, to no success. It was then that the unfortunate surprise which had plagued the cynical man for so long stood behind him.

"Brother."

The youngest brother, Drevin de Sarkozy, stood behind him, a party of Crows and Vanir-men alike standing behind him. Markus could barely stifle a gasp. The man he had sought so long to slay now stood before him, in a rather domineering position.

The Raiding party took Markus without struggle. They trailed him back to Brelus before letting him sit within what appeared to Markus to be a keep, or mansion, at least from the nice room they kept him. Surprising, seeing as he had expected the oubliette.

A short conversation and argument took part with his brother, making no headway to safety as Drevin grew rather wroth with Markus' prior treatment of the young sibling. It was then Drevin's face reddened and Markus was lead to the front of the City of Brelus, an execution block awaiting him.

Some argument occured, before it became apparent Dederick Varodyr, a man most unknown to the young Baron previously would be swinging the blade, and overseeing the execution.

"Protect me, Creator, in the Seven Skies. Welcome me, Arjen. Welcome me, father. Welcome me, Saint Adrian. Do not punish Drevin eternally for his mistakes. Long live King Olivier the just."

was the prayer Markus whispered to himself before his death, most solemnly but understanding.

"Any last words?" asked the Ser Varodyr of Adria.

"Amen. Long live Olivier, for he has done nothing to you lot, truthfully."

The crowd stirred, almost in a final amusement to Markus before the State sword swung down from Dederick, severing the spinal cord and killing Markus de Sarkozy.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A small carriage arrived not much later to Savoie bearing the casket of the young Lord at the behest of Ser Varodyr. The casket clearly identifying the deceased as Markus de Sarkozy, Lord of his house, Baron of Maecht, former Guard Captain of Felsen, and an aspiring young lord, now dead.

His will would be found by his Courtiers in the tent he had been staying in, up to them for its execution.

((Fun RP to all involved.))
