Still better than Windows 8

I just wanted to take a moment to let others understand that this update to the forums is not going to ruin LoTC and it's perfectly fine, you will probably not even notice the change within a few weeks if not days. I feel a lot of you are quick to jump ahead to conclusions without actually getting a good feel for the new format. Give it a chance and it wont be a big deal, I promise... This has happened before with changing of maps etc, but in the end it all works out. A lot of people claimed to dislike Anthos... then when the Fringe came everyone was dying for Anthos back... now everyone loves Vailor. You see, it's not a big deal just try to be open minded.

Just because you have settled into the new format in such a way that you actually are enjoying it, doesn't mean others have as well. It is perfectly acceptable, as well as understandable, to dislike the current changes. Not just because it is change or it looks different but a lot of things were removed or altered that made no sense. For example the avatars being altered, signatures removed, profile changed completely and the status updates altered, that's just naming a few and there are other annoyances with the new update.

Anthos was disliked due to multiple reasons and the map change was needed, the only reason why Anthos was wanted to return was because of how crap the Fringe was compared to it. It's not about Anthos being something we loved, or change being something we hate, it's all relative about what they were compared to what we have.

For example, I didn't love the old forum layout but I prefer it a hell of a lot more than this one.

The point of the post was to let people know that we will simply, get over it. There will be things that the developers fix and tend to that the players want, but in the meantime we need to actually adjust ourselves to the new format before we start giving it a bunch of negativity.

-edit-

That example I gave may have not been the best one, but it was also an example of how the forums reacted during those times. We created a bunch of posts that were more aggressive towards the staff instead of just giving what they had to offer a chance and then criticizing.

I just came back after a week or so long hiatus whilst I moved into university. A few days of absence is a long time on LotC, and there's a lot of things I need to orient myself on as I come back. Being 100% honest, the hopelessly unworkable forums are enough of an energy barrier that I'm seriously considering just not coming back to LotC for an extended period of time.

Also, it's not about being "open minded" or "waiting for things to be fixed." The forums were totally fine and serviceable before. There was nothing really wrong with them. A few things could be tweaked but there were no easily identifiable problems. The only thing we've 'gained' with these forums are a fresh coat of paint, which is completely subjective. I actually preferred the art style of the previous forums, though obviously some people prefer this skin.

I'm finding the site lagging more than usual along with the colors and text setup putting a strain on my eyes that keeps resulting in a headache. I normally sit on the forums most of the day unless away from the computer but today have barely been on because it literally pains me to look at it too long.

I probably need glasses but the old layout didn't do this so...

Also the sudden removal of signatures caused a lot of people to lose art and images that they didn't have saved elsewhere.

im sure we can get those back somehow... I was rather upset with that too but I think it will be fixed..

Oddly enough I'm colorblind and the colors look great to me right now, before it was hard to read some of the forums but now its better. But for me the forums are being... Faster and more responsive so I'm having a lot of fun on it. Seems like the color thing is a big problem, too...
