Loss of the Young

A fire is seen only shortly at the temple as the body of a young seven year old ker is burned. The murmurs of prayer and sadness fill the temple. The pain of a mother echoes through her prayers. To any who have known this woman, she was bright, cheerful, willing to sacrifice everything to become a priestess. Now she was just a husk of what she used to be. After a while she stands and takes the ashes of her son and slip it into a beautifully decorated urn. She turns and heads out. She turns to her mother and murmurs. "Dak'ir is no leader." she says. "May the ancestors forgive him for allowing a malii to suffer. May they forgive Alak for harming the only person to have information on my son's wherabouts." She turns her back on the temple. "May the ancestors forgive the filth that call themselves ker for the death of a malii. For the death of an innocent, for I will not."

With that she leaves Vivec hoping to do something that should have been done long ago. Finding a proper leader for the dark elves. A council dedicated to helping its people instead of letting them suffer.

Salendys catches up to her daughter as she leaves Vivec, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry... I couldn't keep my promise. Lets go home dear..."

Although she manages to keep calm, it is quite clear the loss of her grandson has taken its toll on this gentle ker's soul.

Demagol sits in front of the fire of his family's home-in-progress stroking his beard in thought. He shakes his head, then placing his face into both his palms, he then opens up his fingers to look back into the fire. He then stands and straps his sword tightly to his belt, and looks back into the fire "Paymen' is due."
