What made Anthos good

Asulon was my favorite map. I joined on it and it was extremely magical and seemed to have players in control for the most part. Overall I believed we left because the settlements were stretching themselves too thin. However with areas like the elven lands that were literally filled for 1000s of blocks with beautiful trees, forests and communities Asulon will always be special in my heart.

Elysium was alright but definitely was an experimental period. Lots of good and fun came out of the event team especially and though the map was sort of plain it felt alive for the short period. Lost it's luster when the map begin getting too populated with man-made structures.

There was the alternate timeline map where we were playing a separate group of descendants leaving Aegis through the verge and ending up on a chain of islands instead of Asulon. I think this was my favorite map or tied with Asulon simply due to the unqiue ways communities sprung up and worked there. It felt like a very collaborative map and even had a very popular PvP arena. Also players didn't feel so attached to their characters because for the most part their characters were completely separate from their mains and what they did bared little consequence! It was awesome.

Anthos was designed almost like an elder scrolls game in terms of how detail we got with terraforming and actively trying to fill the map (especially the north) with delves and dungeons. As a player it was a lot of fun to explore. I mostly only worked on the north and while I was sad that peeps didn't get the full effect I wanted the prospect of having expansions like that are a real hype train.

Fringe was alright. I enjoyed parts of it and some really neat cities popped up on the incomplete map that it was. Overall players needed to moderate themselves and each other regarding what they were building as the map was scared very badly within the first week, causing it's lifespan to lower imo. The plague event was a neat idea but caused a lot of complications that we are seeing with this new plague. Players don't like RPing it or they do but they don't want their character to get it because that's their protagonist and the protagonist never gets ill or something. Idk! Anyways the plague events cause players to not log in for a multitude of reasons though the event itself should be one of the more involved events. It's literally a server wide event that players can do whatever with but get tired of quickly.

Thales was alright as well. I got to design a very very very strange high elven city which was fun but I didn't feel the need to log on a lot during that time. Didn't feel like there was a whole lot to actually get involved with. Temp map though and I think it was successful and was an interesting part of the storyline.

Athera simply lacked a sense of self. There was nothing specific about Athera besides the floating islands and we really did ourselves no favors by making them with soulsand & not putting in my storyline events and dungeons. For a long period of time Sporadic I believe was trying to make re-doable automated dungeons a thing and I hope that something is still thinking about setting that up.

Vailor has enough land that players can spread out a bit. NL's and co. need to be careful with how much land they give out though and maybe think about condensing existing settlements. 5 settlements with 5 players each could be 2 settlements with 12.5 players each. That means each settlement gets 1/2 a person! Vailor also needs more of a sense of identify. We have something cool going with the devourer theme but I would like to see more. I want people to apply to the event team as builders to specifically fill the world with dungeons, something we are currently missing a lot of.

People didn't really like Anthos that much at the time. It was just amazing in comparison to Athera.
