Declaration of Regency, 1533

Issued and Confirmed by His Imperial Majesty the Holy Orenian Emperor John I Frederick, 19th of the Grand Harvest, 1533

With great sorrow it is to be announced that Augustus, Duke of Lorraine has gone missing, and is presumed dead in absentia. The good duke has gone missing with no sons or daughters, and thus, his titles have been inherited by his sister Her Imperial Majesty, the Empress Adelheid of Istria. Due to the Imperial laws of succession and the principle of jure uxoris, the Duke’s titles have thus been passed on to His Imperial Majesty, the Emperor. With as many tasks as an Emperor has, he does not have the means to directly rule over Lorraine. His Imperial Majesty has thus elected to grant the title of Duke of Lorraine to one of his sons upon their coming of age.

In the meantime, since the Duchy of Lorraine cannot be left without governance, His Imperial Majesty has decided to appoint his cousin Godwine Horen as Regent of Lorraine. Godwine Horen will be assuming this position and its powers immediately.

His Imperial Majesty John I Frederick of the House of Horen, by the Grace of GOD, Holy Orenian Emperor and rightful Emperor of Aeldin, forever August, Apostolic King in Oren, of Savoy, Westphalia, Kaedrin, Haense, Renatus and Salvus, Defender of the Faith, Grand Duke of Kaedrin, Duke of the Crownlands, Carimea, Erochland, Kingston and Leone, Margrave of Greater Kreden, Count of Felsen, Louvain, Beauclair, Wett and Metz, Sovereign of Humanity and Protector of the Elves, etcetera.

"But.. What about little Adelaide and her sibling?" That was the thought that pondered in the mind of Klarisse de Bar, who was almost certain that her cousin-in-law, Annabelle d'Amaury, birthed two children for the Duke.
