The forest dwarf Dlûn

Race: Forest Dwarf

 

Backstory:

Dlûn left his home in the mountains long ago, when he was merely a young dwarf. Spit out by his kind, because he just would not fit in. He prefered Nature over Caves. Mosses over Minerals, Grass over Stone. He devoted his life to nature, learning from it. Using it only for that what he needed and no more. He respected it, for it was his home. Decades he lived on his own. Well, not on his own entirely. There were several creatures whom he may call friends, family even. The animals around him, those who had grown accustomed to his presence in the woods, became his friends. His time in those woods, was never in vain. The knowledge on plantlife and animal has brought him great wealth, for he finds knowledge the most valuable form of wealth there is. His return to the inhabited world was hard at first. For the others of his kin had brought a bad reputation upon the race of the Dwarves. He finally sought refuge in the city and lands of the Caliphate. Here he discovered his sanctuary and home for many years: The Great Library of Old. Book after Book he read. Meeting people as he did so. People that were not like his fellow dwarves, nor were they as the humans of the north. They were kind to him. And soon he made new friends, friends whom he may call, family.

 

Appearance:

Standing 4’3” Tall, mostly wearing a Green colour Robe with a Hood over normal leather clothing. Colours that camouflage well in the woods but are very remarkable to see in the streets of busy towns. Multiple pouches on his belt hide Herbs and of course one for his most dear pet, Dwun the Hedgehog. He carries with him a staff, one that was gifted to him by one of his friends.

About Dlûn:

An older dwarf that values his friends/family and the nature around him as most dear. Knowledge is wealth to him. He can befriend elves with ease and has a negative attitude towards other non-Forest dwarfs. Preferring a life alone in the woods with his animals and plants. But is not scared to go inside larger settlements to help people in need or learn others that nature can be more than shrubbery or decoration. He is a beleiver of the fact that all Gods in the realm are in fact the same. Mostly referring to them as: "Gods". He is hostile towards creatures of the dark. He has no power to combat them, thus he tends to avoid their ways.

 

Ambitions:

Protect those he holds dear: His friends and family (people and animals alike). Preservation of Nature. Help those who are in need. Shelter those who are in need and to becoma a magician of sorts, his interest in both Druidic and Voidal magic.
