The Siege of Khro'Nogaak

Ioannis stood inside Khro'Nogaak, staring the valley for enemy movement. Nights come and go but the valley was quite. All were worried, impatient. He hoped that the Orenian army was exhausted after the battle of Rhewengrad. He couldnt wait more inside the keep so he went to walk in the forest. But then he saw them. A vast army of humans, orcs and elves, united under the Orenian Emperor with one goal, to eliminate the Kingdom of Urguan. Their catapults already positioned to fire at the keep. He ran back in and got to cover. He was observing the defenders, all of them afraid, all of them afraid that it will end like Rhewengrad. Until the Grand King of Urguan appeared, ready to spill blood for his Kingdom, ready to die for his people.

Before the sunrise, Ioannis heard the warhorn of Dunamis and blinked a few times as he made his way to the back of the keep. He then saw his brothers all mounted and a smile formed on his face. He whistled for his horse and it appeared running towards the keep at full speed. He rides it and grabs his lance. He looked the dwarven mountains a last time as he then lined with the rest of Dunamis and waited to hear the charge. His mind was telling him to flee, to save himself but he couldnt abandon his brothers. No he couldnt.

The sound of horses charging covered the valley along with the sound of broken shields and arrows flying. After hours of fighting, he looks around and sees the rest of his people retreating. They pulled back into the keep, many wounded. Many didnt return at all. A few were carried away by the other ones to keep Oren from getting their armour. Ioannis then decided to sit on a rock. He was hearing the sound of stone breaking and the dwarves yelling. Oren was destroying their keep, piece by piece. He lost hope and made peace with himself. He then stood up and joined the rest of his people, all getting ready for the Orenian charge.

Everything silenced and the remaining of the defenders rallied close to the breach. They were looking at each other, exhausted from the days of siege. The silence didn't last long. Thousands of Humans, Elves and Uruks charged on the breach. Arrows started flying by both sides. The defenders were trying to hold but the attackers were too many. The dead bodies were pilling by the breach and then a loud noise echoed through the valley. One of the dwarven alchemists threw a liquid that turned into a thick fire. He then paused and stared the attackers who were trying to retreat with no effect. They were all burned alive.

The smell of burned flesh, the screams of the wounded. The valley was covered by motionless bodies, people who died for their Kings. Dwarves were searching the fallen dead for anything they could find, being greedy as always.
