Last Days of Urguan

Standing atop a heap of rubble, what remained of Khro’Nogaak, General Josef Vladov looked down to the soldiers and civilian onlookers arrayed before him. In his hand was a rough stone wrapped in wire--a memento kept by his aide-de-camp, a young man of Felsen. He had passed on the field of battle, lifting a wooden beam from atop a pinned imperial knight. A noble sacrifice, and a brave one. Josef considered this, and began to speak.

“It was upon this rock that we, the forces of His Imperial Majesty, failed for the first time against the amassed hordes of the wheelwright king, Rhewen the Stark. In that king’s wicked charge, many of you lost family, brothers in battle, and even your own liege lords. This is an immense loss to our nation--to justify this sacrifice is an incredible burden which every leader in this grand army bears. We are compelled to look to the past, and to the lives these villains have taken from us, not merely on this field on this day, but in many fields and on many days past. This contest, the contest of righteousness against deceit, of honor against betrayal, of the forces of God against an illegitimate king, has stretched across centuries and continents. Its beginning is lost in the murky histories of Old Aegis.

And it has the potential to be ended now, in this year, forever.

We march now on Avar, where the armies of Rhewen the Stark--the armies of a decadent ruling class and a civilization oppressed by liars and thieves--shall face final obliteration. To quail now would cast the lives of our lost brethren into the trash heap of history. We will not allow this cycle of treachery and war to continue. For our emperor, for our empire, for the sons of Horen lost to war, and the dwarvish commoners swindled by their own leaders, we will fight and die, and let never again a war be fought in the name of betrayal. This year, the sun sets of the final days of perfidious Urguan!”

Angrily, the General cast aside his stone, and called the troops to order. As they marched aboard the ships, a young man, no older than fifteen or sixteen years, took up the memento and placed it in his breast pocket. It rested there, between a prayerbook and a bundle of papers that marked his place of enlistment and birth--a young man of Felsen.

The following scene was penned and documented by the famous scribe and scholar; Fabian Virosi.

The Orcish Warships leave the port alongside the Orenian fleet. The flagship of the Orcish Fleet, "Nublubdubfubcubyub" follows closely behind General Josef Vladov's ship.

"Here comes the great Orcish ooga booga fleet of 5," comments Thorgran Ireheart.
