*A recent scroll is found on the Kal Urguan message board.

Just have two things to say to ye.

First off we have a lot of construction, and mining going on recently, from the crag taking over Outter Kal Urguan, and the business district being dug out in Kal Urguan. If ye are looking to help then go to where the tree farms were, the farms and kal urguan wall contruction is being done by certain dwarfs. Do not worry, ye still we be able to get wheat, and wood. (( And do the permissions are set so for now everyone can build. ))

And secondly I have fired the Archbishop Hogarth fer a few reasons, if ye think his firing was unfair there was a reason he does not know about. We had to do it, though I will speak to him and hope he remains in Kal'Urguan. But if ye think ye can get the job please fill out an application here.

Hail, King of the Sons of Urgaun. I, Fasolt Hemdallsson, humbly submit my application for the position of Archbishop.

Why do I feel I deserve this position? No Dwarf deserves anything in life, save for a chance to do God and Urgaun's Will. I hope to earn the position of Archbishop by my piety, by my charity, and by my belief in the Divinely Ordained Destiny of the Dwarves: to dwell in the deeps that God has gifted unto us, and to carry His Light and Goodness into the dark places of Aegis.

What is my take on War and Death? That both are inevitable facts of life in Aegis, put forth by God to test His Sons. It is the responsibility of all the faithful to face these and other trials with dignity, so that they might rise to and surpass God's expectations of His Children. To die in the service of God is the greatest honor that one can achieve in his or her brief life in Aegis. Whether Death finds you on the field of battle, or deep in the divinely-inspired mines with legs crushed and body pinned, it is important that we meet Death with dignity and Faith that God will find us worthy of everlasting glory.

Of what I would do differently as the Archbishop, my most significant change would be to re-stress the Holy Covenant between God and Urgaun. Every one of God's four Sons was given a place of dominion within Aegis, and to Urgaun fell the deep mines and caverns of the world. It is the Divine Duty of the Dwarves to explore, to tame, and to marvel in the deep regions of God's Work. In reminding the Dwarven people of this fact, I fear that our previous Archbishop has fallen short. While his Cathedral is a fine example of craftsdwarfship, it is inherently Undwarven in that it fails to stress our holy connection with the Deeps. It is a surface structure, more reminiscent of the Works of Man than the Works of Dwarves.

However, I do not believe architecture alone is significant enough to remind the Dwarves of their place in God's Creation. Charity and education must be undertaken to instruct today's youth (and no small minority of today's maturity) what is expected of a Dwarf. I propose the increased inclusion of new Dwarves in Kal'Urgaun society, providing them with tools and labor that help give them a sense of purpose in Aegis. I am pleased to say that I already see signs of just such inclusion, but believe it can be accelerated. The Church I believe can do more to materially aid the King in finding jobs for the unemployed. When a shortbeard first arrives in Kal'Urgaun from the Temple of Aegis, he should be greeted with kind words, handed a pick or axe and given clear instructions as to where he can Strike the Earth!

As a humble servant of God, it goes without saying that I wish for peace among all His Children. The Kingdoms of Kal'Urgaun, Malinor, Oren, and Krugmar all bear the Holy Names of God's Sons, and quarreling between them should exist no more as quarreling should exist between brothers. To the Kingdom of Alras, I extend my respect and my sympathies. Much of my early youth was spent in its environs, and I saw first hand the weak leadership that led to the lamentable split between that Kingdom and the Dwarven fathermines. It is my devout hope that in future days Alras will be reunited with Kal'Urgaun, welcomed back as the prodigal son. Until that time they deserve our support as they work to recover from the Wrath of God that hath struck their city clean from the face of Aegis.

May the King find this application sufficient,

God's, Urgaun's, and His Highness King Algrim's Humble Servant

~Fasolt Hemdallsson

*Bazian attaches a scroll to the message board next to the King's announcement*

To King Algrim, ruler of tha vast caverns of Urguan,

I be Bazian of tha Black Axe here to formally submit my application for tha position of Archbishop.

I am a very well taught and traveled dwarf. I 'ave seen tha worst of tha undead when I was a guard of Snowy Fields as well as a guard of Oren. Although, after tha fall of Snowy Fields, I relized 'ow important Kal'Urguan is. Dwarves don't need to be intertwined in tha matters of tha 'umans or any race for that matter. A dwarf should be with 'is brethren in tha 'alls that by tha grace of Urguan, gave to us for that very purpose. That is why I returned to Kal'Urguan and became a guard 'ere. Not too long after I became an ambassdor to tha Kingdom of Oren and joined up with my brother, Decks, in tha Black Axe. This is where I found Dwarven Pride! For this reason, all us dwarves need to reach out to our fellow brethren and 'elp those in need. This is why tha Archbishop's position is so important. He is tha beacon of light that tha dwarves will follow to Kal'Urguan. He must give a voice to tha voiceless, give shelter for those who are without, feed tha mouths of tha 'ungery, and show tha way of tha dwarves to those who 'ave forgotten. Our way, our lifestyle, belongs to Urguan in tha caves he 'as givin' to us.

War is a very powerful word. It means a multitude of things for tha dwarves, incuding death and destruction. I will not preach war or voice my own belifs about tha other races, but if danger befalls one of my brothers, ye will feel tha blade of me axe without a second thought! We dwarves need to stand together, as brothers, and once again show tha power and might of tha dwarves to tha whole world of Aegis!

I feel that tha Archbishop position 'as been seen as restricted to a few amount of objectives. Tha Archbishop should be gettin' tha new and poor dwarves on tha right path. As well as visitin' other cities and regulating tha monastery. He sould be strong willed and tough as nails, as he represents Kal'Urguan to tha other nations and to tha new dwarves. I aim to keep dwarves in tha 'alls of Kal'Urguan, where they may prosper in tha caverns where Urguan ment us to be.

I do not thirst for war. War is for those whom 'atred consumes them. I like throwin' around me axe as much as tha next dwarf but only for sport. Not sayin' that I would never go to war, but it is only reserved for tha most 'ated of crimes. Peace should flow through one nation to tha next, as we where all once brothers. Somehow we lost our way, but I truly believe that we can all be brothers once again. It will take much time and many more wars before we can reunite.

I 'ope ye will make tha right decision as I will be waitin' patiently on yer response.

~May our brethren be strong in mind, 'eart, and in brawn.~

Signed,

Bazian Elgak

Greetings, I am Pud, a simple miner and blacksmith, who wishes to apply for the position of archbishop.

I believe many people deserve this position, including me. However every single person is different and they all have different traits. You don’t have to choose me, you could choose anybody else, and it would not matter. At my current position, I don’t do much except be an active member in the community we have here in Kal’Urguan. I do try to do the best I can as a citizen, as in helping the kingdom out as much as I can. However I would like to help out the Kingdom more, as I feel many people would be incompetent for the job of Archbishop. As Archbishop I would take no **** from anybody, and I would get things done. I would also try to get things done professionally, and not done in a completely horrible way. If you don’t like what I am saying, you can stop reading now, or if you do like it, continue on.

In this world of Aegis, we continue to face many problems, including war and death. War is never needed, as many things can be solved peacefully. However, many people decide that they don’t like the peaceful route, and they decide to solve things with war. We cannot stop people from being evil like this, as even the most humble man has a bit of evil in him. War is impossible to stop, and we all have to deal with it, including me. Death on the other hand, can be stopped, however sometimes it cannot be stopped. A person does not need to be executed if he is in our hands, but if we are the ones be executed then nothing can be done, except to hope that the executioner is a nice guy. We do not have to kill anybody, unless it is absolutely necessary. If all of the sudden people are storming our city and killing everybody, we must kill them, or else we will be on the sharp end of the stick. War and death are two deadly aspects of life, and in the end we have to deal with them one way or another.

As Archbishop I would do many things to improve our great kingdom. I plan on removing that church, and build a new one, with much better architecture. I would like to build the church, with the help of other dwarves. However I believe it would be a better job for the high architect, and he would tell us how to build it and how it would look. I would also try to increase our sense of religion, and help the dwarves put their faith elsewhere other than the evil things that scourge this earth, such as Iblees. I would also make the ambassadors useful, sending them to other nations and try to increase relations. As well as making other people useful I would try to make myself more useful, helping other dwarfs who are in need of things. However I cannot help every poor dwarf that comes by, as some of them might be just looking for free money to take from our kingdom. I would watch over the kingdom, and looking to see who needs help and who does not. If somebody is in need of a house they have been saving up a week for, I will happily give them a bit of money to help them out. However if somebody comes along and wants a free 2k minas house, I will deny them and tell them to work up in this world. That is what I plan on doing, and if you don’t like it then you can go laugh at my ideas, I don’t really care.

Now, it would be nice to have good relations with all the nations and have peace with everybody. People could sit back in their nice little cottages and their mansions, and everything would be fine. However, conflict is always upon the people of Aegis in one place or another. Even if we are not at war, other nations could be at war, and that will put us in a situation. Lets say the Orcs are attacking the Elves, and all the trees in Laurelin are burning. We could stand by and keep peace with everybody, or we could save the town of Laurelin from complete destruction and save the elves from a fiery death. That may pit us in a miserable war, but at least we would have saved some people for the better of this world. What I am trying to say is, if war can save people, then it must be done. I will personally take up arms and save people whenever I can, even if I am unskilled in fighting. However I hope we can keep a state of peace like we have now, and not have any fighting between us.

I hope you consider me, but if you do not, it will not matter, as you would probably found a good person for the job.

Why ye fell ye deserve the position: I want to serve this great city in a way I never have before. I want to teach the other dwarfs about the great story of the creator, and have a greater impact on all of Aegis. I have been a hardworking dwarf since I began living in this city, and I greatly think you should consider me.

What is yer take on war, and death: I believe that only demons and creatures that need to be killed for resources to help our land grow and thrive are to be killed.

What do ye look to do or change as Archbishop: I want to give all dwarfs the gift of religion, and give the less fortunate, and even the more fortunate, a place to go when they have nowhere else to turn.

Do ye want peace with all nations?: Aye, fighting is unnecessary between anything other than undead and demons.

Anything ye wish to add: I will loyally serve the king and all other council members in any way I can, and I will not disobey any law, even if it is against my belief.

((My minecraft name is WheatleyLabs777))

Hail, all fellow dwarfs. My name is Wheatley, and I wish to become the Archbishop of this great nation of Kal'Urguan. I was born here, and I plan to stay here for the remainder of my days. I love all the dwarfs here, and though some have made mistakes, all deserve a second chance. I am but a humble resident of this city, and do not expect any response. I only hope that you consider me.

Most people would say they deserve this because they love our city more than all others, or think that they want to bring peace to all of Kal'Urguan. While both of these things are true in my case, the real reason I feel that I deserve this position is that I want to bring all dwarfs under one roof, to worship one god, the god who created all of us dwarfs. I deserve this because I am a peaceful, kind person who only wants the best for his great nation. I deserve this more than anything in the world, because I can bring the city together in harmony. I love this land, and I only hope that you feel that I deserve this too.

Hmm...war. What an interesting topic war is. All that it means is a conflict between two nations, no matter how small. It could mean a fight between two wolf packs. It could mean a fight between Ascended and Undead. Whatever the definition, I believe it is a creation of the evil god Iblees, and should be avoided at any cost. Death, on the other hand cannot be avoided. It is necessary for cows to die when you need cheap and renewable armor to protect your nation in war, which I admit is unavoidable. As it is unavoidable, we should at least be prepared. I hate both these things, but they cannot be avoided, so I have learned to accept them.

I want to give all of Kal'Urguan a place to go when they are feeling down on their luck. The church should be a place that accepts all, and worship the true god, the Creator. I want to make the homes downstairs in the church into several homeless shelters, meant to be shared with others along with the one already built. I want to have a nice place where all are welcome, and love one another, and to bring peace to everybody. I want to end fighting within the nation, and give all a reason to live.

I wish to bring peace and love to all nations, with my nation hopefully helping me out. Again, I greatly hope you at least consider me, thanks for reading.

Your friend,

Wheatley

*Upon reading the scroll Pikel's rough features crease into a smile with the thought of serving his kingdom. He quickly runs home to scribble his response before tacking it to the message board.*

Te me King Algrim and all the fine folk of Kal'Urguan, me name is Pikel Greanbeard and I have only returned te Kal' very recently after some fine ol' adventures in the North.

I would be as happy as a young dwarf with a fine trimmed beard if ye would consider my humble piece o' paper as an entrance into the position o' Arch Bishop.

Why ye fell ye deserve the position?

Bah no dwarf deserves any position o' power round here it is earned through hard work and some ol' patriotism. I've also been puttin me new found skills in mining te use on helpin expand our great hall and will do pretty much anything te help our Kingdom.

What is yer take on war, and death?

My ol' eyes have seen wars and battles up North and too many o' me good friends have been taken by Ilibees CURSE THAT NAME and i grow weary of it all. Peace is what brings prosperity te the lands o' Aegis not pointless bloodshed o' our friends.

What do ye look to do or change as Archbishop?

I would be first wantin' te change the minds o' some adventurers. i saw many a young folk go against those Undead in the hopes o' riches but they should all know there is other more peaceful

ways o' making a livin' and contributing te our communities.

Do ye want peace with all nations?

I defiantly want peace fer our land and all the other races... even those blinkin' Orcs.

If we got ourselves workin' together we could be buildin' grand wonders o' the land just look at our ol' tree farm. give a few hands a pick and shovel and they can build ye a whole new wing te the Halls o' Kal'Urguan. I only hope there are enough people thinkin' about peace.

And te whoever gets the honour o' bein' the next Arch Bishop I congratulate ye and hope ye do a fine job.

Why ye fell ye deserve the position: I feel since i have experience in both being a priestess and an ambassador i think i would be able to successfully support the dwarves and bring aid for rebuilding outer Kal'Urugan, i feel that the crag has happened for a reason. Its the gods way of telling us that it is time for a new age of reform and rebirth. We can now rebuild a great city to be an even better one. I believe that i can help lead the spiritual path and create good relations between all kingdoms.

What is yer take on war, and death: I believe that sometimes dwarves need to fight, and they need to release their rage. i dont support the war but allow arranged skirmishes for both practice and emtotional release. I feel that with this the death toll would greatly lower and the hygenine of our city would improve, a happy dwarf is a clean dwarf.

What do ye look to do or change as Archbishop: If i am chosen as archbishop i would like to establish a strong religion and create structured trade and dimplomtic relations to each nation. This would greatly improve both the personal appearance of the dwarves and make nations more likely to make alliances.

Do ye want peace with all nations?: I do although i believe if offended there should be only a small time in which that natoin has time to make amends before we have a battle or demand respect and offers.

Anything ye wish to add: Although i am a woman there has never been one on the council and i think it is time for a change, Let the Golden Era of King Algrim begin!
